Good, hope they don't get help. They are NOT a good team, they are having such a fluke season. Half of their team is hitting below 250. Inge is falling off, Granderson really isn't hitting all that great, their stupid minor league hitters just always rough us up (Clete Thomas, Santiago). Jackson and Verlander are the only two pitching well right now, Porcello is falling off, Galarraga we have hit in past. They imo need more help than our team, they need a bat, and couple pitching arms, Maggs hitting wouldn't hurt them as well.

Kinda surprised Buehrle is pitching given he just pitched on Sunday.

I take full responsibility for Mark's crappy outing...

1-2 at the Hump Dome was expected. At least we hit there, seems like we never do. I still don't know how the f***ing Tigers are playing so well. Their lineup is absolutely awful, Thomas, Thames, Anderson and Everett in it and they still manage to win, f***ing ridiculous. Only player hitting is Cabrera but he really hasn't been that hot. I really don't see the Tiggers lasting. -
Keep him where he's at. Pods and Alexei have been a real nice 1 2 punch and I would hate to break that up. I like where Beckham is at, if anything maybe just move him above Getz. Of course, in a year or two I expect him to move up into the two spot but not this year, just seems too soon and he is still heating up with the bat.

Guess you should ask yourself, would we be able to contend with him? Personally, I don't think so because we have a lot of weaknesses and conerns at other positions. To be honest I really don't want him because he will end up being a free agent next season, I guess if anything he would be a Type A player I believe but we would sacrifice prospects just for that would be rather pointless. Id love to have him only if he extends with us. This park does suit him however.

What do you think needs fine tuning in your game before reaching the majors?

THE OFFICIAL SOXTALK 2009 MLB DRAFT THREAD

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 9, 2009 -> 10:15 AM) My belief is Sox will draft J. Mitchell out of LSU. Most of soxtalk will be upset, claiming that he strikes out too much. Then, Hawk and KW will talk about it and the comparison to Carl Crawford will come out. Soxtalk will then slowly shift to liking the pick. Actually who I would want just based on reading, don't know too much about all the players. Just feel we need an outfielder. Give me one of: Wheeler, Evert, Mitchell or Arnett. -
Because we f***ing suck! Easy answer. We have many players who don't deserve to be in the majors on our team: Wise, Gobble, Fields, Colon, Whisler and Anderson. Add to the fact our manager never plays the matchups and has some huge mancrush for s***ty players like Lilly and Wise and keeps trotting them out onto the field. The hitting needs to wake up, at the least fire Walker just for the sake of change. No reason our team should hit this bad year in and year out. This is extremely frustrating to watch, good thing I haven't watched much of the Sox this year.

f***ING SWEET!!! Lets see what the kids got

Sold high on McClouth imo. I personally don't think he tops last years performance. Never really showed the pop in the minors until he got the callup. Depending on the prospects Id have to give pitt the edge.

QUOTE (onedude @ May 22, 2009 -> 05:45 PM) Ugh, this movie looks so ridiculously bad. I Robot bad. Whats with all the robot movies coming out? Terminator and Transformers are cool but the rest are just lame.

20 runs, well when you throw our 3 f***ing worst pitchers out there what do you expect. Granted Betemits error hurt but still. Gobble is not an MLB pitcher and Broadway I never liked to begin with, send these two rejects down. Blackburn roughs us up again like usual what a surprise.

Staff of... Jake Peavy Mark Buehrle John Danks Gavin Floyd Bartolo Colon Would be nice....I suppose the plan would be if Contreras has looked as good as they say in AAA put him as the longman I suppose? I'm really not all that fond of Richard anyways. Would just need our hitting to start hitting a little bit more consistently. I feel we are about to turn the corner but just need couple good gms of hitting to do so.

Guess I'll be the pessimist. I'm feeling Toronto pitching throws a shutout. Thank god I'm going to miss this one, yet another starter our team hasn't faced in Cecil going against us. That and we seem to always struggle in the SkyDome. Thome always hits well in Cleveland so that doesn't mean antyhing to me, just wish Ozzie would stop playing him against righties, youd think a .200 something average vs righties would be a wakeup call to bench him. And its about time Lilly is gone, hes is so awful, I don't care what he fixes in the minors he doesn't have MLB talent.

QUOTE (iamshack @ May 10, 2009 -> 01:19 AM) It's unfortunate that we missed the boat with Edwin Jackson. Guy with great stuff, great arm, whose mental makeup perhaps needed a bit of massaging. Seems like he would have been a great candidate for Don Cooper. Looks like the Tigers took a page out of Kenny's book there. Anyone see any other candidates? Not that much out there. It still is a bit early to tell. Theres always Pedro and Byrd in FA, don't believe either signed, rather try one of our young guys and go the cheap route. As long as Floyd starts throwing we should be fine, Buehrle and Danks have been good and Colon has been respectable thus far. Our hitting sort of needs to wake up a bit, bottom of our lineup is dead.

QUOTE (greg775 @ May 8, 2009 -> 12:16 AM) The thing you have to love about him, among other things, is his approach. Why all pitchers don't get the ball and deliver it as quickly as he does is beyond comprehension. It's the way to pitch. Even if you are getting rocked, it seems to me, getting it and delivering it, is the way to go, not delaying delivery forever. Danks is sort of the same way. Seems to work for him and MB.

f*** Placido Polanco. Sorta had a feeling he'd be the one to get a hit or get on base, hes a pest like that. -
QUOTE (daa84 @ May 7, 2009 -> 07:20 AM) why are people surprised at this? Exactly. I'll go right out and say Pujols is using something too, no doubt, honestly half the league is but at this point doesn't matter anymore since MLB can't stop it. No way somebody can be that big. Manny wasn't all that big but he hit HRs easily without effort. Good riddance, Manny is such a joke, same with A Roid, Rodriguez got off easy which is bs, wheres his suspension?

Stupid DePaul quarter system. Done June 15th at the latest. Praying for some early finals this quarter or none for some of my classes.

QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ May 4, 2009 -> 02:01 PM) I like Williams as an energy guy off the bench. His defense creates a lot of points and he's an energy player, but he also has talent. Actually, now that I think of it, he's one of the few guys that I think could start in this league and legitimately not suck unlike most players in this draft. Only guys who I think are starter material are Blake, Demar, Terrance and Lawson. I honestly think Rubio is going to be a bust. I think DeMar can be one too. Terrance though would be a nice safe pick and a pleasant surprise in one. Love Terrence Williams, I agree he should be a legit starter or starter material. I don't think Demar will be good, curry should be 6 man material off the bench and I like Meeks as a possible starter too but he may need a year in the league or another year at Kentucky. But if we don't resign Ben Williams would be an ample replacement. Especially if we don't resign Ben then he would be a great replacement. Gives you two lengthy guards in Salmons and Williams and two points in Kirk and Rose.

We have 2 first rounders this year correct?
