  1. Looking for some tips. It seems every time I create my workout routine it is something different. What workout routines do you find are effective in that they build mass? So, how many days a week? Different muscle groups each day? Number of sets & reps? Any specific exercises you would suggest? I have a smith machine, chinup bar, dumbbells, ankle weights. I have always considered doing it 5 days a week with different muscle groups each day but I just never felt I would be working those groups enough during the week, advice?
  2. QUOTE (Hollywood_AU @ Jul 30, 2010 -> 12:38 PM) JimBowdenXMFOX "Tim Kurkjian of ESPN reporting that the Nationals told him directly they are NOT trading Dunn to the White Sox for Edwin Jackson" 9 minutes ago via web I find it hard to believe we will get Dunn. I mean I don't know how 3 way trades work, if it is reported at once or piece by piece, but considering there were rumors of a 3 way trade with Jackson, Dunn & Sox, you would think this is either on hold and Nats are negotiating with Sox but maybe they really don't want Jackson. I feel we should have Dunn by now. And if it comes to the point where we have to throw in another player to get Dunn with Jackson, well then we will need a starter and have to throw in more players from our minor league system, which seems rather wasteful. Worth the risk considering the team we could have with a bat and arm but I hope our minors don't get scalped too bad.
  3. QUOTE (BearSox @ Jul 29, 2010 -> 10:57 AM) He's not having a spectacular year... he's just hit a lot of home runs. I don't particularly like Bautista either, but hes a definite upgrade over Kotsay and Jones. I'm hoping we can get Dunn but I also like Luke Scott alot. Bautista would be the last option. As far as pitching, I don't mind Guthrie at all as a 5th, but I'm not overly high on Hudson so at least then Hudson is insurance.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 28, 2010 -> 11:47 AM) This may not be for you then because it WILL lean you out. Although you will gain mass, you will also lose a ton of fat. Of course the real end result is that you will be in terrific shape. I was telling a friend yesterday, I cannot remember the last time I could do 50 pullups in a row, not since probably junior high or HS. Well, looking more lean wouldn't be a bad thing and I'll probably amend the diet to add more protein. That and I've read that using heavier weights/less reps/lifting till failure also would help with mass, I'm sure I can tinker with the workouts that it will work out. Getting in shape in general would be good for me and seeing reuslts would finally make me continue with lifting as opposed to stopping with my previous routines because of impatience.
  5. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jul 28, 2010 -> 07:01 AM) Yeah, give 'em James Johnson and a the Bulls 2011 first-round pick. I think that is enough for Fernandez for all his talents hasn't proven anything thus far in his short NBA career. Really? Can't say I'd be willing to give up JJ and a '11 1st.
  6. Gotta believe China's Womens Gymnastics team was close.
  7. Watch the movie "Waiting."
  8. QUOTE (asmithxc @ Jul 26, 2010 -> 08:20 PM) I agree on the totem tidbit you mention, I sorta felt this too, that there was another object he used because he did after all take his wife's.

    P90X

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 26, 2010 -> 07:06 PM) You are a stick already, so if you do this program, you will be super ripped up and lean. I would say, pull up bar, dumbbells and a chair and you are set. Follow the schedule for the first 90 days so you get the hang of why he does it that way. It really has a set means to an end. I dont follow the diet very well and thats why I still havent gotten to my goal of ripped up abs. I would say if you can watch what you eat, cut down on alcohol, you will be very successful in the program. Whats your goal for P90? Is it muscle mass, weight loss or overall fitness? Lol, well not weight loss, if anything I'm looking to put on weight so muscle mass.

    P90X

I have some questions for those of you that use the P90X, I've read through a lot of information but want your take. What items are necessary with the program? What do you recommend? (Chinup Bar, Resistance Bands, Dumbbells, Push Up Bar) - I've read some use Dumbbells in place of the bands (I have dumbbells so not a problem) - I know I don't need the yoga mat since I have a wrestling mat at home - The push up bar I feel is something I can make As for the nutrition plan, do any of you not follow it and get results? I eat pretty well as is and have to monitor cholesterol so I am good at controlling what I eat, I'm just wondering how attached are you to that plan. I don't need to lose weight but gain. Also, I see that there is a daily schedule but if I wanted to swap some of the days like do yoga on weekends and other stuff during the week would that be ok? I feel like I have more questions but I'm just not thinking of them, looking to purchase and obviously I am a beginner, any tips? Fwiw, I'm 5'10 and weigh 154
  11. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 26, 2010 -> 02:26 PM) @Buster_ESPN: Well, what are the Sox waiting for, lets throw in a guy or two to help them if that means we are getting Dunn. Even "IF" we get Dunn, I think we could use a starter because I just don't trust Hudson, however I was never high on him from the start.
  12. QUOTE (GreatScott82 @ Jul 21, 2010 -> 07:00 PM) 2009- I remember coming home from Bourbonnais last year and my brother called and told me about Jake Peavy. I didn't even believe him. Man was i pumped up! 2008- The Ken Griffey JR deal was a lot of fun! (paid off in the Blackout game) 2005- Geoff Blum's arrival completed 'Group 4' 2004- Freddy Garcia, Carl Everett and Jose Contreras were outstanding pickups by KW! (although not all 3 were at the deadline) 2003- Roberto Alomar and Carl Everett on the same day! I loved the Peavy deal at the time but boy would I like to take it back, although I suppose it is too soon to say that. Griffey Jr is my favorite player and I was thrilled even though he really didn't contribute much. 03 and 04 were fun years. Although any sort of move in general gets me excited.
  13. QUOTE (onedude @ Jul 20, 2010 -> 03:34 PM) A couple people i've talked to paid attention to I've visited a few sites and forums and some people have come out with the same conclusion. Would have never noticed that in a second viewing.
  14. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 20, 2010 -> 02:18 PM) You can interpret the movie a bunch of different ways.
  15. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 19, 2010 -> 12:42 AM)
  16. I wouldn't mind Rasual Butler, he can shoot from the perimeter. Also wouldn't mind giving McGrady or Howard a shot.
  17. QUOTE (knightni @ Jul 14, 2010 -> 03:01 PM) The D League would have better backups than those overpriced guys. http://www.nba.com/dleague/statistics/play...tDD=All%20Teams Von Wafer is an interesting name, he showed flashes with Houston.
  18. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 14, 2010 -> 01:33 PM) Whoops. So now who is the backup PG going to be? Following I believe are FA's: Steve Blake Rafer Alston Jason Williams CJ Watson
  19. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 14, 2010 -> 10:55 AM) That is if we get Reddick (who most people still believe is going to end up back in Orland). I also think Raja Bell would be a good fit. I would prefer Raja Bell, although if Kobe wants him he will get him. Though I don't see him playing much on the Lakers as opposed to the Bulls. I just wish Reddick's contract offer was smaller.
  20. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 12, 2010 -> 04:28 PM) I think the Heat will burst out the gates for what its worth, but one thing is overlooked. Every team is going to step up their game and intensity against the Heat. It'll be hard for the Heat to keep the intensity up all year without injuries. I really hope Otis Smith doesn't match for Redick, I actually like this roster a roster where we resign Brad, Law, and look at Bouldin, Byars, Richard, and Alexander (even though Alexander has mysteriously disappeared from the Summer League roster): PG: Rose - Law - Bouldin SG: Redick - Korver - Byars SF: Deng - Johnson - Alexander PF: Boozer - Gibson - Richard C: Noah - Asik - Brad That's assuming you can get Bouldin, Byars, Alexander, and Richard on min. contracts, which you should Brad would be the Lindsey Hunter type tutor (that can still play somewhat) for Noah, Gibson, and Asik, Law showed some good stuff in his 2 starts last year, while BBAR would all be there for mop up duty or to surprise us. Chris Richard was released I believe.
  21. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 09:39 PM) Bulls need Anthony Morrow big (assuming no LBJ). He'd be the perfect sixth man. I'd also sign Ronnie Brewer to be our starting 2-guard. Not a great offensive player, but can score efficiently and play solid D which we will need at the guard spot. Also brings nice size. I'd also go for Luke Ridnour for the back-up PG spot to round out the roster along with Asik who is a forgone conclusion as an addition. Rose/Ridnour Brewer/Morrow Deng/Johnson Boozer/Gibson Noah/Asik That is a solid group right there who should hopefully grow into a bonafide contender in couple years when Rose becomes hopefully a star. Brewer is a fantastic idea. I would love to nab both him and Morrow. Pargo is someone I could live with if we have enough financials to somehow secure Brewer, Morrow and James.
  22. Jarrod Washburn is an option. Would not have to give up anyone.
  23. f*** you Bulls. So f***ing annoyed, woke up this morning and am not surprised the Bulls are not gonna get anybody, sorta saw this coming. We traded f***ing draft picks, Hinrich and dumped salary for a meet and greet, what a joke.
  24. I don't like Duhon but we desperately need guards after trading Kirk. I personally would've preferred to trade Deng instead of Hinrich. We pretty much have to sign someone like Joe Johnson and invite a bunch of guards to camp because we have nobody besides Rose. I'd like us to invite some of the below: Ben Uzoh Scotty Reynolds Manny Harris Sherron Collins

    Films Thread

So imo, since both the sequel for Transformers and Iron Man bombed, which did you like better of the two? Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen or Iron Man 2 I can't decide, probably lean towards Transformers.
