Not to take the Cubs in anything, but DLee vs. Konerko, no doubt would go to Lee.

I just don't know how we got him out 6-7 times out of 10. I don't ever remember him getting out against us.

QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Apr 7, 2006 -> 01:45 PM) No, his point is that some of the old-timers are now the new whiners, and those bullet points are the complaints ascribed to them. Thanks for the defense. I do like the debate on the hot dog though. Saying I, or anyone, puts ketchup on a hot dog, appears equal to calling someone's mother a whore. Such emotion over such a weiner. People don't get this upset over bigger weiners like Mariotti.

I have heard the Roids cloud floating over Gagne's head for a few years as well. GAME OVER!!

QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Apr 7, 2006 -> 11:31 AM) Seriously, the ketchup taboo has been around forever, and it's young and old, Sox and Cubs, anyone. Royko wrote great columns about hot dog etiquette. Better get used to that. I am used to it. I just like to buck the trend. One side of the hot dog, onions and mustard, the other side, relish and KETCHUP. I LIKE KETCHUP ON MY HOT DOG! I have been a Sox fan for all of my 34 years, but starting last year, during the playoffs and especially during the off season and during the first couple of games this year, old time Sox fans appear to love to complain about the increase in attendance and attention the team is receiving. Bottom line, increased attendance and attention allows the team to build payroll and improve its chances of winning. Why not welcome these new fans instead of giving them crap. I am sick of hearing from all these people whining about: Going to McCuddys and the new fans didn't. Walking up day of game and getting tickets in the past. Being a long time fan entitles them to tickets before someone who recently became a fan. Growing up in Bridgeport or the Back of the Yards and new fans come from the suburbs. Never throwing a ball back. How someone should eat a hot dog. Ketchup is a condiment, deal with it.

Must be kidding me. The ring cermony is not on the Score. -
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 3, 2006 -> 10:51 AM) The coverage was terrible. They said they were going to show the montages and blew it. It looked like they had one guy on his camcorder trying to bootleg the event. Incredibly disappointing. Fully agree. It felt the the Ames, Iowa Comcast team was in charge of the event. Very low rent. I hope Brooks realizes that what was shown and what was going to be shown were two different things. This from Teddy Greenstein's column last week: Prime time Even though ESPN2 will carry the Sox's Sunday night opener, Comcast SportsNet will celebrate the occasion in style. The network's pregame special begins at 6 p.m. and will feature interviews with Reinsdorf and Mark Buehrle, a retrospective on the 2005 season and a live feed of all the stadium JumboTron montages. Before carrying Tuesday's Sox game, CSN's one-hour special will have live coverage of the championship ring ceremony. Other highlights of CSN's coverage of 171 Cubs and Sox games:
-
Last night I was so pumped because Comcast and the Sox said that all the pregame ceremonies would be shown on Comcast, including ALL video montages. Not only did they cut away from the only montage they showed 6 seconds into it, they never showed the pregame montage they promised that all of us at home wanted to see. In addition, the introductions were terrible. The organ music was so loud, you couldn't hear the crowd cheering for each player as they were introduced. I taped it, and didn't even bother to save it.

It has to do with the weather. Trying to get the best temperature for games in April.

I am fully excited by this. -
QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Mar 28, 2006 -> 10:25 AM) It doesn't work that way around here. Just imagine if our bullpen blows a lead opening night. People are already benching Gooch and it's not even Opening Day yet.

Wonder if Mark will joke with Maddux about accusing him of cheating last year. -
I don't believe that Kelly Pickler's act. I think she is playing it for all she can. And, it's getting old.

QUOTE(Steff @ Mar 23, 2006 -> 10:31 AM) I would kill to have some of your mortgage payments.. Not often I agree with Steff, but on this one I wholeheartedly concur. Mortgage and taxes about $3000 per month. Of course for the forseeable future, I am paying $4500 per month since we have yet to sell our old house. Need to unload that thing now.

Someone please get Kevin off of my TV. He may be nice and all that, but outclassed at this point. True, if Mandisa was half her size, she would be the winner. Personally, I like Paris and Taylor. Uggh, I almost threw up when I saw that poser Constantine in the crowd.
