QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Feb 28, 2006 -> 12:28 PM) Bobby's what, 24 years old? His metabolism is only going to slow down. The guy needs to cut back on the beer and food intake. If he doesn't take care of himself, his career will be brief and he and we will wonder what could have been. Hopefully Hermanson is healthy, and feels good when he throws. I am not ready to put all my eggs in the Bobby Jenks' basket just yet. Bobby would just take those eggs and make a 15-egg cholesterol-filled omelette.

Mike North is asking him about the Big Hurt.

Valuing productive outs, from Buster Olney's blog

True, but just look at who led the league. Gooch himself. As much as I want to see him free-swinging, he was invaluable in the #2 hole. Oh well, we'll see how it goes. I am so damn excited about this year. So excited that I am actually a little scared about a flop. -
As much as I think Frank is a complete A-hole, I will be on my feet cheering as loud as anyone. On the field, none of us can complain about what he did for many years.

AJP is awesome. I am a bit concerned he might be losing a little focus. But for now, all is good.

That was a very good article. I am still a little nervous that we are going to see Bobby get touched up quite a bit this year, but hey, who knows.

We are going to get the reverse attendance articles and features this year. With everyone talking about how they have now discovered the Sox and the Cell. My wife and I are going to miss going to as many games this year because we couldn't commit this early financially and so many games will be sold out. I love my Sox. Last night when they showed the guys on CSN hitting the golf balls at those windows, she said, "ahh there's my boys." Great to be the Kings of baseball this year.

Thus the reason Rob M is on the team. Figure to see Mack on the field for basically as much as a starter. He will be filling in for someone almost every day.

Replacing the Rock with someone who has the personality of a rock. Just kidding, I always loved Harold. But this swap seems odd to me.
-
My prediction for lowest attendance game this year: Wed April 19 vs KC --- 22,000.

Has anyone checked with Janet Jones for the over/under on goals in the US/Latvia game?

He's on vacation with his family. Is it me or does it seem with the playoffs, all of the appearances and now this vacation that Ozzie's kids are never in school? I know two of them are in college, or were in college.

Will this be replayed tonight? If so, remember to extend your DVRs, it cuts out the last 5 minutes.

Here is an email I just sent to [email protected] Not trying to be a pessimist, but please explain to me the thrill of an adult man standing on the street and staring at wall for five hours waiting for a $5 baseball. Truth be told, I am a diehard fan of the WORLD CHAMPION CHICAGO WHITE SOX! Sorry, but when your told your a second-class basement-dwelling citizen for your entire life and then you own the penthouse, you tend to brag a bit. Anyways, my brother-in-law has season tickets to the Cubs (I like him anyway) and I watch these 40-year-old guys with their gloves and I just don't get it. Why not buy a ticket and go to the game since you're there anyways, or go home or to a bar and watch the game on TV. Oh well I am sure your response will have some sort of attendance rip or information and that is understood. As I read in an email yesterday, the Cubs will yet again be raising their Attendance Champions Flag on opening day. Oh well, just an inquiring mind.

According to the fan blog on Ballhawk.com, 39 home runs left the ballpark last year, or about one every other game. The Web site also claimed 756 balls left the park during batting practices, or about nine per home date. Those losers with absolutely no life actually have a website. Get a grip dorks. It's a friggin baseball! I think I am going to go on their site and see what a life wasted looks like.

Good for Arow, you know how much he will miss the Sox. He must be dreading going to spring training, knowing his buddies will be reveling in a year-long World Series celebration.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Feb 7, 2006 -> 11:28 AM) "Damn, I hope Sammy hit a homer!" I love Sammy! He swings a bat just as well as he swings a rum bottle.

"So Gene do they pay you in old DVD's of Sesame Street for your announcing job on Channel 11?"

Mike Murphy just played a clip from a television show or a movie where a guy was mad his ex is now dating a Sox fan. Does anyone know where this is from?

Monday May 22. Standing O for the big guy is in order. Hopefully they have a little celebration and give him his ring that day as well. -
I love Buehrle, but if someone wanted to give me Johan Santana for him, I would help him pack his bags. As for the argument that occurred earlier in this topic: It seems that on many a message board, someone gets bent out of shape about something and immediately starts someting that has nothing to do with the original topic. Also, some of the longtime posters sometimes do think that any opinion that is not the same as their own is wrong. Also, many people do not spend hours upon hours on this board and are unaware if a topic has already been started if it is not on the first page or two. Oh well. JMO.

My favorite is when they said the kid in the tuxedo looked like a singing waiter. On his way out, Randy asked: "how's the prime rib tonight?" It wasn't the funniest thing, but I was laughing for 10 minutes after that.
-
Damn! I just got my Buehrle jersey back from Grandstand. Now you're telling me he's gone. Oh wait. He's signed this year and next year. Chill everyone.
