  1. QUOTE(Controlled Chaos @ Apr 20, 2006 -> 08:20 AM) Mine 6th Elliot 5th Chris 4th Taylor 3rd Pickler 2nd Paris 1st Katherine Mine: 6th Elliot 5th Paris 4th Chris 3rd Katherine 2nd Pickler 1st Taylor - Woo, Sould Patrol --- The SNL skit of him was the only funny thing on SNL in the last 5 years
  2. Yeah, that is a bit much. How many times does Bruce Levine get a story like that wrong. Oh well.
  3. A classy move, but no offense, the Sox should have waited to present Frank with his ring when he returns to Chicago to play the Sox. He deserves that moment in front of the Sox fans. The Sox owe him that as well. JMO.
  4. Can't wait for the summer months when we put up a bunch of sellouts in a row.
  5. I need to sell my house. So hopefully interest rates will not increase anymore for awhile.
  6. KW is supposed to be the GM. He doesn't wear a uniform. He is a front office guy. He doesn't need to talk about every issue. I like Kenny and how outspoken he is, but he needs to go up to his office for a few weeks and shut it.
  7. If they happened to be in front of my car as I left the funeral, I would step on the gas HARD. No regrets.
  8. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 19, 2006 -> 09:15 AM) BTW, with the look Ace was sporting last night, did anyone else have the urge to toss him their keys and tell him not to scratch their car? I was actually wondering if he was in the mob training program. I pictured him last night doing the 10pm - 1am lounge act at the Flamingo Hilton or Ballys. Not quite good enough for Caesars Palace or MGM, but a little bit better than Imperial Palace or Tropicana. I think it's Elliot's night to go home. He is a good singer but has 0 star power. He is just a nerdy choir kid to me. Yes Pickler needs to seriously consider whatever Penthouse or Playboy offer comes her way.
  9. Not sure if I don't care at all or just so little that I can't believe I wasted my time replying to this thread.
  10. QUOTE(My Dixie Normus @ Apr 18, 2006 -> 12:30 AM) I absolutely do not want him moving down in the order. He would not see the pitches he is seeing today without Thome behind him. Right now they are trying to get him out with fastballs and he is stroking them all over the place. Without Thome behind him, he see more junk. No thanks. Keep him at #2 but let him swing away. This lineup doesn't need to manufacture runs with bunts, hit and runs from the top two. Exactly! This is what a PRESENCE in the lineup does for a team. Thome makes everyone better. Iguchi will see better pitches because pitchers would rather pitch to him, hoping to get him out rather than Thome. Konerko will hit with more men on base because of Thome's amazing OBP. He will come up with bases loaded or men in scoring position more often meaning he will get better pitches. It's a chess game, a chain reaction. If you pitch around Iguchi, Thome, and Konerko, someone will hurt you and a big inning is the result. Thome makes everyone in the lineup better. Soomer or later, Iguchi's good hitting will help Pods out.
  11. Just waiting for jury to read verdict.
  12. I absolutely love MB and his enthusiasm for the game. However, if I were paying him millions and millions of dollars, I wouldn't approve of his tarp diving under my supervision. If he does it at his house, fine, but at the Sox facility while in uniform, the Sox can't actually condone this.
  13. They didn't happen to show one of Scott's two hits on the year did they?
  14. I just want Bmac pitching every inning and Thome only one who gets to bat.
  15. I might take my brother's in law Cub tickets when the Phillies are in town to greet Aaron. Any chance he gets a mini standin-O when he comes to bat for the Phils at Wrigley?
  16. He and Blackjack were both pretty good filling in for Hawk last year. Would've liked to see Robin around the team during the playoffs last year.
  17. Tarp is on field. Anyone know if the game will start on time?
  18. Mulligan just sounds amused by how upset Murphy gets over all of this.
  19. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/colum...umnistfront-hed I found the exchange between Murphy and Mulligan very uncomfortable and amusing yesterday. I always thought Murph was a tool. I actually heard his fued with Boers started when Boers and Ron Santo nearly got into a fist fight at Murphy's wedding. I'm not sure about that though. My opinion on the Chicago Sports Radio Hosts: Mike North - Blowhard! Thinks he knows it all. However, he can be a very good interviewer who will not back away from any questions. He is the face of Chicago sports radio, like it or not. Fred Huebner - Solid. Opinionated. Probably not strong enough to host a show, but a good complimentary player. Mike Mulligan - Funny. In touch with all aspects of life, not just sports. Good sense of humor. Brian Hanley - Is a a Score original. He's pretty solid, but his first love will always be writing so for the most part, he is a bit player. Mark Silverman/Carmen DeFalco - They are pretty funny and play off the Cubs/Sox rivalry plenty. They also seem to know their days are numbered. Mike Murphy - What a tool. He is so into his Cub Love that he just comes off unprofessional. He also represents what I hate about Chicago sports talk. The sports geek. Les Grobsten, George Offman, Bruce Levine and Murph are like the dorks in the back of the class. Dan McNeil - He never really got over his split with Terry Boers and the Score. He needs to bury the hatchet with the Score. He was always a blowhard, but his close-mindedness gets annoying. He once bragged that he never saw Seinfeld. How does that happen? He has some good points once in a while, but comes off as a jerk sometimes. Harry Tienewitz - Homer, homer, homer to the end. If someone gives him a free drink or hung out with him, they are his buddies and all sense of perspective goes out the window. I don't know if I can't stand him or Murphy more, but the race is close. He just sounds like an idiot all the time. Jurko - Former athlete. Plays the big, dumb jock role too far sometimes. Thinks he's funnier than he is. Take him or leave him. Dan Bernstein - Has some interesting perspectives once in a while when he's not riding his high horse. Too often him and Boers sound like two 12-year-old girls giggling at inside jokes no one else gets. Terry Boers - He used to be my favorite host in Chicago until he and McNeil split. Now he just acts immature. He has no original thought on anything. Bitter and crabby is all he is now. Lawrence Holmes - I actually like him quite a bit. Seems to have given some new life into the Score lineup. I hate it when he's paired with Zack Zaibmen, but I actually think Holmes has some interesting thoughts. Jonathon Hood - JHood was at his best after Sox losses late at night. You could hear the fan in him. He was better at the Score, but he's solid. What I really miss, is his Friday Night High School Holler show after high school football games. He would have everyone call in from games give perspective.
  20. I think this year's group is more entertaining than previous years, but not as good a singers. Ace - His good looks will not get him much farther. Bucky - Please get him off the show. He shouldn't have even made the final 12. Pickler - The singing was bad, but I was so entertained and laughing the whole time. She might be a surprise and end up in the finals. Katherine - She is as solid as anyone this year which will probably land her in the final 4. Chris - I like him but the Queen song choice was weird. Here's a rocker that could've shined last night with a popular song and he chose some odd song I never heard of. Taylor - He is the wild card. Half the country probably loves him and the other half hates him. I like him. Elliot - Get some personality and get more camera-friendly dude. Maybe he can't help it. He can sing, but he is not a star. Paris - She was my pick to go all the way early, but her youth is starting to show. She is the most complete package of the entire group though. My predictions: Going home tonight - Ace 7 - Elliot 6 - Bucky 5 - Paris 4 - Katherine 3 - Chris 2 - Pickler 1 - Taylor
  21. They seem pretty level headed. They just need to stay focused on the field.
  22. I probably won't use the Google argument. I don't quite understand it.
