  1. QUOTE(whitesoxmanager @ Sep 20, 2006 -> 08:25 PM) the most amazing aspect of this ballclub is that NOBODY ever seems to show frustration over performance other than AJ & MB.... i said before that Frank Thomas & Aaron Rowand were the heart & soul of our ballclub...but after a couple of days I would rather say that they were the "will to win" to the team... is it just me or is JThome not coming up clutch in key situations? he is having a good stat year but i cant remember the last time he came thru in a pressure at bat... I love Thome but he has not come up in a big situation since opening night it seems.
  2. get em on, over and in ... replaced by get em swinging, grounding and popping out
  3. Sometime during the 9th inning Sunday, the crowd should stand as one and cheer the Sox for their championship year coming to an end. No matter what happens between now and then, that will be the last day Sox fans get to see their team until next April. So let's cheer them off and for a few minutes forget how they pissed this thing away.
  4. The way this team is playing and the way the numbers add up it just doesn't seem like we can make up any sort of ground. A sweep of the Tigers is a must before we really can start to talk about anything else. The Pirahnas smell blood now and they will be biting all the way to the end.
  5. It will mean a ton, because Saturday will be an absolute must win, because Sanatana will for sure pitch the Sunday game.
  6. I also have never had a Fatburger. I think they are only on the West Coast. Speaking of West Coast, they are opening Portillos in California.

  8. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Sep 4, 2006 -> 11:17 AM) I'm hesistant to click on anything called "lonelygirl15". When the authorities kick my door in, I'd have a hard time explaining it. That's the first thing I thought of when I first clicked on this thread.

    Entourage

I think the whole epsiode was a dream. Too many instances where it was surreal. I think the next season will show Ari in bed and he will wake up, call Vince and apologize.
  10. FOX won't broadcast it. It is a broadcast rights thing. Comcast or ESPN can't legally show it either. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 29, 2006 -> 08:59 AM) Fox probably won't show it. Its 1 out of 162 that isn't televised. If its that important to watch it, roadtrip. Ah yes. Shelling out money many of us don't have to go to Minnesota. Well going on a roadtrip to see a game we should be able to watch on TV make some better fans than others I guess.
  11. What really could be the biggest game of the year, the game on Saturday September 30 in Minnesota has no TV and according to banter discussed here last year, there is nothing anyone can do about it because FOX owns the rights. The game will not be moved to noon because the friggin Gophers have a football game later that day in the Metrodome. Great my heartache or joy is pinned to listening to Chris Singleton.
  12. We finish the season agains the Twins. If we are not eliminated by then or have eliminated the Twins, they might start Santana against us all three games.
  13. I have no problem with Walker but yesterday I did. He said he blames the Sox pitchers for losses against Johan Santana. He said our pitchers can't let Minny score if we are to beat Santana. Shut up Walk and teach our players how to scratch out some kind of hits against this guy. It's like we conceed the loss to him.
  14. I am in. I just love this version of the 2001-2004 White Sox.
  15. The pressure will not let up the rest of the year. I am worried we will need to take the final three vs. Min to get into the playoffs.
  16. No denying they changed radio in this country, whether one wants to admit it or not.
  17. The Chicago radio duo responsible for Disco Demolition and many radio memories in the 1980s, were back together again on Friday. Apparently Garry was at the Oak Street Bistro eating lunch and Steve was doing a remote there. Garry came over and did like 4 hours of radio with Steve. The two fell right back into the old routines and I was thrilled to hear them again together. The question is: Was it a one-tme thing or could the two be heading for a permanent reuinion?
  18. He just doesn't look right at the plate right now. When he came to bat with the Sox down a run against Rivera vs. the Yanks the other night, I wanted him up, but for some reason, I could feel he was going to make an out.
  19. Basically any day Rob Mackowiack is in center field, his play could merit him a Webgem of the year.
  20. It's higher expectations. The team's goal and the fans' expectations every year is to WIN THE WORLD SERIES! Everything else is an unsuccesful season. Anything short of a championship, while not a complete failure, is not a success. Especially this year for the Sox. People can talk all they want about the Tigers playing over their head. We were right there and pissed it away in the last three weeks.

    SNL

Phil Hartman was the glue that held the show together in late 80s-early 90s. He was so spot-on with his parodies. The show has always gone through a bad year here or there as they transitioned to a new cast, but personally, I think the show now is dead. They have a rerun nearly every week even during the year and it's hard to stay current and topical when a big event happened weeks before. Remember when Monday morning everyone talked about a hilarious skit on SNL. When was the last time you laughed out loud at SNL. They still have 2 years to go before the next election. SNL usually does well in a presidential election year, but I think the show is passed its prime.

    Entourage

I love Entourage. I started wathcing mid way through the first season and went back and watched every one immediately and have been hooked ever since. The problem for me is that the episodes are so short. Sometimes only 22 mins of actual show and the season is basically over already. Each character does something to make me laugh. Actually the worst character is Vince. Ari's lines are so funny and crude. And Turtle always has a quick one-liner that makes me laugh out loud.
