Why do I think that if there was a draft and nearly every 18 year old boy was sent to war now-a-days, we wouldn't be successful. This includes my generation as well. Those guys really were heroes.

Garcia to Philly for Gavin Floyd and Gio Gonzalez

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Dec 7, 2006 -> 07:57 AM) Why? Are there foolish people that believed we should of broke the bank to pick up Freddy. Or are there people who believe every single rumor and think that KW turned down super oober prospects and tried to get Gavin because KW is just a blind moron who doesnt know what he is doing. Or are there people who read Kotex boy and think that we are really going cheap. That the 100 million dollar payroll is just a mirage and really we are the Marlins. These people need to chill the f*** out. KW himself said the only championship you can win is this year's. How are these two clowns going to help us win THIS YEAR'S World Series? -

On a side note. I am 35 years old and married and I went to a club the other day for the first time in a long time. I used to party hard at the clubs about 4-5 days a week. After going to a club, all I have to say to you young SoxTalk members: It's good to be a guy in his early 20s now a days. Wow, girls don't even make you try anymore. It's all there for the taking. Have fun! -
I love Crede and would love to have him as the third baseman for the rest of the decade, but with his back issues, he might be at his peak right now. Trade value may never be higher.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Nov 30, 2006 -> 09:59 AM) Do you know that calling a person a n****r would be very hurtful, about the worse you could say? Would you know about the worse things to call a gay man? Where are those statements coming from? He may well be a racist, but I don't think it's fair to judge him on this one instance. How would you insult someone without being labeled? Good point, but a comedian should have an arsenal of replies to hecklers. Commenting on their clothing or who knows what else. He should have come out the next day and said he was making a joke and it flopped. It is interesting how this happened on a Friday night, but there was nothing done until the video became public on Monday. Without the video, he probably would not have said anything yet. However, the two guys at the club should not be entitled to a dime from a lawsuit.

The local news will dedicate 25 minutes to the storm and we will probably end up with less than an inch. Run for your lives! Storm Watch 2006! It's December tomorrow. It's Chicago. It's supposed to snow.

True about Natalee Hollaway getting way to much coverage. As someone who has covered crime for a major newspaper, believe me, editors want controversy and if there is the slightest hint of racism involved, they will go overboard to publicize that. However, if someone is murdered in downtown Aurora at 2am, it will not get the same coverage as if someone was shot at 2pm in downtown Barrington. There might be 1 murder a decade in Barrington vs. 1 month in Aurora. Yes off on a rant here. I do however, think Michael Richards is racist. It is something perhaps very deep inside a dark place inside of him, but those statements just don't come out of nowhere. That being said, I truly believe everyone has at least some prejudicial biased in them. Just human nature. But people are extremely fearful to speak their minds for fear of being called a racist, therefore, thoughts stay bottled up inside and nothing gets accomplished.

I only waited outside in the middle of the night once and nearly got trampled and got nothing I wanted at Walmart. Does anyone have any suggestions? Also, how do the sales work at the stores that are 24 hours, like Meijer? Do you wander around the store until they unveil the ad item?

We just traded an apple for an orange. Still just fruit, but nothing special.

Well I hop that answered her original question. Best thing I have heard is call when you first get up, like 4:30 or so and leave your boss a voice mail saying how you were up all night and detailing the worst case of diareha ever. Include number of trips to the restroom and also close calls where you almost didn't get to the bathroom. No one wants anyone like that to come in or wants to hear any more about it. I work in a small company so even if I am sick sometimes it is easier for me just to go in. Nothing gets put off until tomorrow at my job, so unless I feel like getting woke up every 10 minutes, it's easier just to go in.

He was on MJH last night and said he loves Chicago and would love to come back some day. That being said, getting fired from two jobs because of problems is not the best tag to have on you. He said in the interview that the Sox gave him a list of 12 things he needed to work on. Why do I think the only thing he really needed to work on was his "don't-let-your-ego-get-in-the-way-of-Hawk" problem.

Oh for the Republican Party in 2008. We couldn't even get John Kerry to help us out enough this time around.

Obama should annonce soon. He will never be as untainted as he is right now. He never had to cast a vote on the Iraq war and he has a small voting record to criticize. But if he thinks that the primaries will be a cake walk like the one he had against Alan Keyes, he will be sorely mistaken. The Clintons will pound him on every issue and lack of experience.

The whole show is starting to have the feel of a live-action Scooby Doo episode.

My family used to have season tickets to the Blackhawks and I used to live and die with the team. Once they moved to the UC, my interested faded a little more each year. By the time the lockout wiped out the season two years ago, I hardly cared. Last year, they were out of the playoffs by Thanksgiving. I do have to say, seeing these guys play this year (on road TV only) that I am enthused and excited for the games. Hopefully they can bring the fans back. The old barn used to rock and the destruction of this franchise has been sickening since then. Let's hope they win and can overcome $ Bill Wirtz and his dinosaur mentality. Go Hawks!

I felt last night's was the weakest of the year so far. PErhpas because it didn't include the three main characters. I still love the show, but my wife has given up. It can be a frustrating show to watch because you invest so much time and effort and there is so little payoff in terms of what is revealed.

CSI: Domincan Republic Theme song: Not sure, but it will be required to be a Who song.

The Sox better be careful. Remember the first half of the year 2005 the Scout seat were empty basically every game. It looked embarrassing on TV. I hope they are not biting off more than they can chew for short-term profits and when the team inevitably has a bad year or two and can't sell those seats.

They haven't told you yet how the current concession stands will stop selling brats and polish and now will be selling Twinkies and Slim Jims.

Embarassed to say, but I have actually been watching that horrible Flavor Flav dating show on VH1. It's worse than you could imagine.
