I'm definitely fine with RIP. He's all-around average who's capable of putting up 15-20 in a game. I hope GarPax still pursue sign and trades.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 9, 2011 -> 11:50 AM) Clearly, I am reaching for hope here. Please don't take this as "There's absolutely no way Dwight goes to New Jersey". I've been caught in one of those before! Your bulls fandom side is bipolar. Seek help.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Dec 9, 2011 -> 11:23 AM) For those that know the Bulls cap numbers better than I, what would it take to be able to sign a guy like Affalo or Young? Can they not move around some of the reserve guys to get some more money freed up? Afflalo and Young would require their teams agreeing to a sign and trade as well. Both very unlikely. There just aren't a lot of viable options for the Bulls. We need to pray that JRichardson agrees to take $5 mil per.

The dominos are falling: Emiliano Carchia: Brian Scalabrine is signing with Chicago Bulls a non guaranteed contract. The White Mamba started the season with @Benetton_Basket Twitter

KW and SOX fans are to blame for this mess..

QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Dec 9, 2011 -> 10:35 AM) There are many ways to cut cost.. Eat at home and not at the ball park take a train sit in the upper deck bring bottles of water with you to the park Or watch the game on TV. -
QUOTE (TheCut87 @ Dec 8, 2011 -> 08:52 PM) no news or rumors on the bulls front is killing me....give us a little bit of something Well, if you want something according to a long time poster on Real GM, he has "sources" who say the Bulls are close with Richardson.
-
Sadly, it probably all but assures Howard to LA.
-
ESPNSteinLine Marc Stein It was not immediately clear, sources said, if three-way trade involving Hornets, Lakers and Rockets is merely snagged or in jeopardy
-
WojYahooNBA Adrian Wojnarowski NBA owners have pushed commissioner David Stern to kill the deal sending Chris Paul to the Los Angeles Lakers, sources tell Y! Sports. HA, please be true. Dont know what that means though.

QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 8, 2011 -> 07:12 PM) I speak for probably a faction when I say it doesn't piss me off that howard may go to the lakers, it pisses me off that howard may go to the lakers for andrew bynum. That's not a real trade. At least with the bulls we are sending legitimate pieces. At least when the celts traded for garnett they could hang their hat on al jefferson. This is just collusion. This. GarPax undoubtedly made some sort of effort to get Dwight, but there's just nothing they can do. I can't imagine how frustrated GarPax must be (with the player collusion).

QUOTE (TheCut87 @ Dec 8, 2011 -> 07:05 PM) I'm pissed we haven't pulled the trigger on anyone we don't have a roster to win it all an if this all goes down I still don't see how the bulls sign anyone left out there that will push us over the top What trigger? What trades are you referring to? None of these guys want to play in Chicago.

If only there was a climate shift and Chicago became tropical.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Dec 8, 2011 -> 05:52 PM) They will never be able to do that (unless it is in a sign-and-trade). Lakers are way over the cap. They could trade Bynum, an ending contract, plus cash for Howard and Turk. I would never do that deal if I were the Magic (I'd rather get Lopez, Eric Gordon, or Joakim Noah), but I'm not the Magic. Definitely. Though that is all thrown out the window if Dwight won't sign an extension if traded to the Nets, Clips, or Bulls. If Howard is traded to the Lakers for Bynum and trash, that's exactly what happened. Those teams without a doubt can offer better.
-
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 8, 2011 -> 05:39 PM) This is even more unsettling than Miami last year, because apparently it will never end AND the Bulls will never be the team with the balls. All these moves are being dictated by the players. That's the b****iest thing. Front offices are rendered useless. DRose has no pull. That's blatantly evident.
-
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 8, 2011 -> 05:30 PM) @christomasson: One agent I spoke to really does believe that a package involving Andrew Bynum for Dwight Howard is coming. No way the Lakers go with just Bynum and no PF. Something else is going to happen. A package of what? This is going to be a pathetic haul for Howard, if true.

QUOTE (TheCut87 @ Dec 8, 2011 -> 05:23 PM) at what point does derrick rose start thinking where the hell is my help? Patience
-
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 8, 2011 -> 05:14 PM) Paul to the Lakers? Well there's your west champ. Howard is going to LA. We all know it. Hooray for the impact the new CBA has had on competitive balance. They'll have to pull rabbits from multiple hats.
-
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 8, 2011 -> 05:03 PM) What kinda massive leap is Taj Gibson, a 26-year old roleplayer, supposed to take? Boozer's days of 20/10 are more than likely over. He's older and as injury-prone as ever. The condensed season coming up all but guarantees he'll miss 15-20 games. Gonna have to agree. Gibson's ceiling isn't that high. He'll just be a steady, plus defensive PF. Asik is the player who's improvement is going to shock a lot of people, imo. His ceiling is much higher than Gibson's.

With the 2 guys that have been said to really want to play for the Bulls (McGrady/Butler) signing, makes me think the Bulls have their man.

QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 8, 2011 -> 03:00 PM) Sorry, I don't buy it. Closing games is a huge difference between winning and losing. It was the difference between us and the pacers, and it was the difference between us and the Heat. edit: I don't want to come across as uber negative on the bulls. But that series wasn't close. When you lose in 5 games, it wasn't close. I'm optimistic the bulls will be much improved by merely being together another year and being young, however, I don't buy that "we were a few shots shy of beating the heat" I agree. The individual games themselves were close, but the series, not so much. They did show that they were capable of beating the Heat which was the most important thing for free agent/trade dealings this offseason as well as for the psychy of the team.
-
QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 8, 2011 -> 01:55 PM) We weren't in the series, we lost 4-1. Haslem completely stabilized their big problem. Maybe I should have used the word competitive instead.

QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 8, 2011 -> 12:40 PM) Battier signed for the minimum? I'd be more scared if the Heat added more legit PF/C depth...but to be honest, Battier is a championship team type player. He's a fantastic defender on the perimeter on a team of fantastic perimeter defenders. And in the east...is there any PF/C you really need to worry about? Amare and Howard...but those teams are just not that worrisome to the heat, i'd imagine. Sigh. This sucks. Right. I don't think it's so much the defense of other legit PF/C as much as it is the rebounding/interior. The Bulls were in the series against the Heat largely due to them being a vastly superior team on the boards and at interior defense. It also creates a problem with Wade and James getting to the hoop when Asik and Noah basically have no one to worry about. I would be very worried if the Heat got a legit C because it would take away the main and exploitable advantage the Bulls have over the Heat. A 33 year old Shane Battier? Not so much.
-
Miami should still have their MLE to use. All these minimum additions are of no worry to the Bulls.
-
I liked Battier 5 years ago.
