  1. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 2, 2012 -> 05:37 PM) What the hell does this prove? Yes, the Bulls thoroughly kicked the crap out of the Heat on the boards in the first game. After that, it's pretty damn even. Let Bosh do whatever he wants? lol. Well they better rethink that strategy. Because that's exactly what he did. Whatever he wanted. It's not just the rebounding. It's where the shots came from. That's how they "control" the paint. The Heat are only at their best when they can get to the rim. That's an extremely difficult task against this Bulls team. The Bulls lost the series largely because Bosh and Haslem never missed a jump shot, but they controlled the paint.
  2. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 2, 2012 -> 05:00 PM) Relying on it? No. They don't have to rely on it. But it's a weapon they appear to be utilizing much more than they did last year (again, very early in the season). Don't know where you get the Bulls controlling the paint offensively and defensively from. Unless that wasn't really Chris Bosh kicking Noah's and Boozer's ass last year to the tune of 23+PPG and like 60% shooting. And it goes both ways in the half-court. Did you even watch the series? Let's just ignore the fact that the game plan was clearly to let Bosh do what he wants......Where do I get that the Bulls control the paint defensively and on the boards? Well, why tell you when I can show you???? Look at the shot charts for each game. It's a gross advantage towards the Bulls. And I will tell you this. The Bulls out-rebounded the Heat in 4 of the 5 games and were +21 for the 5 games. Yeah they control the paint. And this was WITHOUT Asik for almost a full 2 games. 3. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 2, 2012 -> 04:05 PM) But if you've watched even bits and pieces of any of their games, you see they're playing at a much faster pace - which is a more conducive style to the exceptional athletes they have all over the court. Which will be A LOT tougher to do against this Bulls team. Like you said, the Heat are at their best when they can get to the rim and get out on the fastbreak which is why their weakness in the paint is not a problem you can just overlook. The Bulls will control the paint both defensively and on the boards against the Heat. The Heat will not be able to beat the Bulls relying on the fastbreak. They will have to win it in the half court, which is where the Bulls are great defensively, and the Heat are mediocre offensive.
  4. Brewer is a different player this year. Very impressive.
  5. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jan 1, 2012 -> 09:17 AM) Its also bizarre to me that a guy like you who says all the Sox players are worth about nothing on the trade market still wants to get rid of them and lose 100 games a year so you can have better draft picks. Everyone wants to be the Tampa Bay Rays. They had 10 years straight of 90 loss seasons before they turned it around. 10 years averaging 95 losses a season. There is no one here, not J4L not the milkman and not you that has patience for that. The Rays had 10 straight 90 loss seasons because they were an expansion team led by Chuck LaMar. Not a valid comparison.
  6. Blah. They don't live in a recovery bubble between games. They travel the country (often late at night), living out of a suitcase, and sleeping in foreign beds. The games aren't the only thing that's draining.
  7. The last 5 NBA champs (Spurs, Lakers 2, BOS, DAL) had all this elite athleticism where? Kobe and.....Lamar? Or Big Fundamentals and....Tony Parker? Garnett and....Pierce? Tyson Chandler and....Jason Terry? I am sorry, I don't see much elite athleticism outside of 1 guy.
  8. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 25, 2011 -> 07:34 PM) What? 1986? What's next? Bill Russell could dominate in today's game? Miami lost because they choked away a 15 point lead with 6 minutes left in game 2 and LeBron got scared in the 4th quarter for whatever reason. That still doesn't change the fact that in this era with zone defenses and such that athleticism and versatility is more important than ever. Excuses excuses. You sound like a Bulls fan......
  9. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Dec 24, 2011 -> 02:48 AM) Kevin Goldstein says he has NO power though. Maybe more of a Darin Erstad. Well he is 140 lbs. I'm surprised he can swing a wooden bat.
  10. Thats a fantastic package for Marshall. Torreyes has been one of the more interesting prospects out there. He's TINY (5'9" 140), but can hit and is very scrappy. There's definitely some Pedroia in him. Not surprised Theo targeted him.
  11. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Dec 22, 2011 -> 10:06 PM) is Bob Knight retarded? Why not try and make a defensive stop to give you 10-11 seconds to tie and/or get down by one? Why give up one or two possible points? Yeah what does he know...
  12. It would make sense if it included other pieces. The Bulls would be a perfect 3rd team to a trade that netted LA Dwight. Maybe Orlando has no interest in Gasol.
  13. Boozer's in great shape. Nice bounce in his step.
  14. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 16, 2011 -> 07:33 AM) Feel free to tell me why I'm wrong, but I'm still not under the impression that Crawford is all that reliable in creating his own shot either, I thought the motivation for him would be that hes' probably a better outside shooter than Hamilton (or certainly more willing to take the outside shot even if it's not advisable). I don't think of Jamal Crawford breaking down a defense on the dribble and then passing away the ball. Crawford can create his own shot 1-on-1. He's not a good distributor. Like you said, part of the argument is that Crawford is a better outside shooter than RIP, but also, with Crawford, Rose could take plays off and the Bulls would still be able to score.
  15. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 15, 2011 -> 09:14 AM) I wouldn't be so quick to say that. Since the trade, the Clippers have already sold out their season ticket allotment and are starting a waiting list. They will never be the Lakers, but they can easily become popular enough that players would want to stay. They play in the same arena & LA fans are kings of the frontrunners. In 27 seasons in LA, the Clippers have 4 playoff apps and one series victory. They have never given themselves a chance to become popular. Stephen A. thinks Kobe will demand a trade by the end of the season. If that happens, with no superstar and a couple with the Clips, I wonder....
  16. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 14, 2011 -> 08:50 PM) Rip deal is official. 2 for 10 with a club option for a 3rd. I think it's a good value. An expiring contract next year that may be useful, if things don't work out.
  17. The Bulls were definitely lucky to win 62 last season. They had to be, with Noah missing 34 games and Boozer missing 23 games. They played without their true "starting lineup" for most of the year.
  18. The Bulls were 25-2 in the regular season when Bogans scored 6 or more points.
  19. f***, Lakers reportedly pull out of the Paul trade.
  20. DavidBaumann33 David Baumann Howard: "Wherever God wants me to be, I'll be there."
  21. The Bulls didn't trade for Crawford because they need the assets for Howard. The Bulls went cheap with Rip because they need the finances for Hedo.
  22. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 10, 2011 -> 08:23 AM) LA - Kobe DAL - Dirk NJ - Deron Old Old Really? I'm not saying I agree with the theory, but the Bulls will be considered Rose's team (the superstar from Chicago) for the next decade. I don't agree with it, but I can see why Dwight may want to go to lala land, play with Kobe for a 2-3 years, and then be THE man in LA. There has to be some reason why Dwight would choose DAL or NJ over the Bulls. Maybe he hates DRose.
  23. QUOTE (iamshack @ Dec 10, 2011 -> 12:55 AM) Why on earth would Howard not want to play here? Has a reason actually been speculated upon? One has been that he will always play 2nd fiddle to Rose.
