QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 22, 2017 -> 01:02 AM) I'm beginning to think the Knicks do the unthinkable and trade Porzingas. Phil sounds really kissed at him. If only the Bulls had the assets Well, it is the knicks. Maybe we don't need the assets. -

Interesting part talking about how Dan Fabian was pushing the college reliever as new value idea. Not sure I buy it but it makes sense. Reminds me of college first baseman though. -
QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Jun 21, 2017 -> 02:15 PM) Exactly. That was WAY out of character for JR. Not just something he hasn't done, but something he's actively lobbied against. We basically HAVE to take that as evidence that Rick Hahn sold it hard, and that JR is definitely willing to go off the deep end if Hahn makes a good enough case. But the immediate trade for marginal amounts of international bonus salary relief and the slight underslot reaches in the first couple rounds of the draft, IMO, are evidence that JR insisted that Hahn borrow from one place to support another. And if that's true, I'm totally cool with it -- both from JR (who just dropped a chunk of money on something he doesn't personally like) and Hahn (who correctly assessed that this was a draft in which it was worth it to punt a bit to get Robert, who is a much better prospect than anyone available anyway). I for one am not shocked he did it, I feel like JR only cares up until a hard cap is set. He's not against giving overslot money for amateurs now because he the total amount is capped. He gave the go ahead this time because he already "won" in the new CBA creating a hard cap. He follows the rules to a tee to get bargaining power with owners, but it's not like, a moral thing. He just wants cost certainty. Now, I am not saying we won't be cost conscious now that we signed Robert. But I thought the behavior was always more likely with a new CBA signed.

QUOTE (maxjusttyped @ Jun 20, 2017 -> 09:19 PM) 12 dingers on the road vs 0 at home for Abreu so far this year. I swear we haven't played a home game though so maybe that's part of it. Seems like we are always on road. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 20, 2017 -> 08:03 PM) I know I've said this before, but it's amazing to me that I'm more optimistic in the hitters going forward in the rebuild than the pitching Perhaps after seeing multiple struggling young hitters coming to form you can also find that pitchers too may actually struggle before improving. -

QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Jun 20, 2017 -> 07:51 PM) You rarely see a MLB player swing at a pitch that awful. That said, Engel isn't really a MLB player. This is so over the top mean for no reason. -
QUOTE (Knackattack @ Jun 20, 2017 -> 02:59 PM) It'd probably be smarter to move Robertson & Swarzak at the deadline, slot Kahnle into the closers role to increase his off season value and call up Burdi to get some ML experience I also believe this but I don't really have good reasons for why it should work.

QUOTE (Tony @ Jun 20, 2017 -> 02:46 PM) Aside from an absolutely crazy situation where top FA's actually come to Chicago (There is NOTHING to believe that will happen), what realistic scenario is there where the Bulls get close to a championship with Jimmy Butler on the roster? For the life of me I just don't see it. Cameron Payne suddenly becomes Steph Curry. -
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 20, 2017 -> 02:11 PM) MLB PipelineVerified account @MLBPipeline 22h22 hours ago Aaron Bummer nearly unhittable in 2 relief outings, reps #WhiteSox on Team of the Week: http://atmlb.com/2rwngZ8 5.2 IP 1 H 0 R 0 BB 10 K I wouldn't be shocked if BUmmer ends up as one of those guys we barely talk about, gets a random call up and has an outsized impact on the pro club relative to this prospect hype/status.

That may be true but I also equally don't believe for a second the Bulls and celtics didn't exchange offers last year. That's just an excuse to avoid letting it be known they were trying to get rid of a player on the team. -

QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Jun 20, 2017 -> 01:31 PM) I feel like these types of rumors of mass player movement end up all being complete duds. But maybe the Warriors have broken the NBA so badly that teams are all just like screw it, lets rebuild for 5 years from now and let the Cavs, Spurs and Warriors fight this out in the meantime. Yeah I think the latter may be true, but I agree, it is so hard for franchises to do these trades, let alone multiple, let alone on a deadline. -

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jun 20, 2017 -> 01:06 PM) Bet the Celtics will kick themselves if they miss out on Porzingis because they dealt the #1. They still can offer best package. -

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 20, 2017 -> 10:25 AM) It remains incredibly distressing to me that the front office that f***ed everything up(repeatedly), just 5 months ago traded solid assets and PICKS for Cam f***ing Payne, is now in a position to make another trade with their only real asset and try and fix this mess that they made. Do not want. Do not want any of it I agree. I understood the logic and constraints of Hahn a lot more, so I thought if he made the switch he could execute it. But I also wanted him fired because I thought he had shown he wasn't influential enough in his position to get buy-in. Bulls, complete opposite. I have seen nothing the last 3-4 years that has shown any sense of direction, and the constant media undercutting and confused narratives are exhausting. But, no idea what the hell to do. We should trade JImmy, but if they do I'm afraid they will do it "on the run" and try to hold out for some bulls*** veteran who grew up in Iowa. -
Cool, get to Montana.

There is 1 good team in the AL, I have a hard time believing all of those teams will be sellers.

QUOTE (Tex @ Jun 20, 2017 -> 09:27 AM) Again I ask, what should I have to give up to pay for other people's healthcare? I'd say 8-10% more of your paycheck. You'd gain back some amount of your own out of pocket costs, and of course you may do very well having lived some years on old system, and then get considerable benefit to smoothing out of years 55-65. Pretty sweet deal for you.

Hey, calls to the dems worked. They are pulling out the stops.
