I think something did recently change too. He did a Garfein interview well after both trades, well aware that team would suck and that was the I want to do this four more years and "I want to die in the booth". Whatever it is, he's had a rich life and pretty cool he gets to decide on his terms.

Why is Houston getting away with acting like Martes + Tucker are some can't miss top ten recruits ala Meadows/Torres? They really aren't that different than Rutherford + Kaprellian. I'd take Kaprellian over Martes, Tucker over Rutherford, but still.

Martin really went from good to great because of Porter news (knock on wood). Porters mean more to Columbia than any other program. But also Martin finally gets us in to SL area which has been a must for program forever.
