QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 9, 2016 -> 01:21 PM) Except for how they actually got their nuclear technology... Right, not saying they are harmless, but forceful removal is not an option. Geographically they are easier to handle than Pakistan. China is not irrational. They don't want a west-backed full korean peninsula next to them, or an anarchy they have to take care of. They don't care enough about nuclear NK to force an issue with NK over this, but if NK ever starts stepping on China's toes than we may see movement.

QUOTE (Ezio Auditore @ Sep 9, 2016 -> 01:08 PM) I always think it's funny when people say this. Of course Putin is a strong leader! He's basically a dictator and he's either killed or banned his opposition, made all media state-controlled, and ended private polling in his country. That's the whole point of being a dictator! To want to emulate this says... a lot It's just funny that outputs don't matter in that equation. Doesn't matter that Russia's economy has tanked, that businesses are not investing in it for fear of gov't thuggery taking it over, that they are more isolated than ever. All that matters is maintains his power through force. That's strength! Their psy ops, intel, cold war tools, they ARE all impressive. Their disruption with minimal means IS impressive. But, I don't know, I'd rather have a functioning economy and free gov't. My pref.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 9, 2016 -> 01:05 PM) The biggest danger with NK is them doing exactly what Pakistan did with their nuclear technology. The big problem is NK needs the money, a whole lot of countries and organizations out there who would love to have the technology. They are not feckless but the best option is to continue to monitor them, isolate them, make things difficult for them to do everything. But unless China says "yes we are fine with intervention and rebuilding" then it isn't going to happen.

He's a really strong leader thouhg, you gotta respect that. Has really high approval ratings.
-
LOL didn't realize Goff was inactive. So, he needs more reps, he is your future, and you make him 3rd string and inactive. That org is so crazy. Watching hard knocks you forget about all of the washed up coaches they employ.

Thanks guys

It was one of those hits where you think" huh, targeting isn't that bad of a rule"

China: 1) wants north korea to be stable and an ally 2) doesn't want it saber rattling in region in that order. 1 is more important than 2. They don't want 2, but they don't care enough to really force them to stop.

QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Sep 9, 2016 -> 12:04 PM) Fine, it looks bad sure, but how is it different than reading between the lines of Whitewater, where everyone but the Clintons were indicted and convicted and one of the key players who refused to talk and was sentenced got pardoned by Bill? In the end, it's rich people in authority positions taking advantage, skirting the legal and ethical rules. Both are examples of shady behavior that borders on corruption. Yeah, again, I think it's a Bondi scandal. I would be furious with L. Madigan if she did not even appear to investigate whether illinois would join suit if constituents reached out about it. Bondi appears not to have seriously entertained the suit, or even investigated. Hard to trust judgment Florida should not have been plaintiff without due diligence. But yes, this is just "why can't you cover them both with equal skepticism" whining on media, fully admit that.

Like look at Kevin Clark's article. Clark, who is becoming my favorite football writer, basically picked every single previous playoff team. Parity over the season may be dead, but on across league on a game by game basis, superior teams will not complete a sweep.

Whenever there is growing consensus in NFL for a week 1 game like HOU vs. Bears where it is universal that bears will lose I almost feel like that's the sure victory ha. Bears may not be good but week 1 is stupid and it wouldn't surprise me if they won like 40-7 with 3 pick 6s against Osweiler but still turned out to have a terrible team.

When ESPN had Ray Lewis talk be a part of the segment on ray rice I was just done with paying attention to anything.

QUOTE (Kalapse @ Sep 8, 2016 -> 11:01 PM) Wait, didn't Simeon kinda suck tonight? Holy f***, calm down NBC. Reminds me of how they railed against Bridgewater for not winning in the playoffs after he kinda had them in the lead in the fourth and drove them to FG range only to have kicker miss.

QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Sep 9, 2016 -> 09:54 AM) He gave money to a candidate who later decided against her state joining an ongoing legal case against him. Do you have direct evidence of corruption, or is it possible she didn't think Florida had standing to join (I'm asking seriously, I don't know the specifics about why she decided not to join)? That sounds an awful like the "read between the lines" deals that the Clinton's have often been accused of but you think didn't happen because there's no direct evidence. I don't disagree with you and I think in general the consensus is this is very bad for Bondi because she had a lot of constituents who were harmed (moreso than NY I believe). She claims they never even investigated, which is crazy! This is her job. But, I have to say, the sudden donations from ivanka and her husband, then Trump, there's a lot more fire here than "Bill clinton's aide asks for diplomatic passports that were not issued so they could take trip to north korea to rescue two american hostages, which raises "questions" and "shadows" about access"

QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Sep 9, 2016 -> 09:51 AM) What are her top 5 achievements? Probably depends on your politics but for me it's 1) Her role in SCHIP 2) Iran Sanctions 3) Rolling up 9/11 work (face for federal funding for NYC after 9/11, work to study effects on first responders and secure funding) 4) Increasing veterans benefits after beginning of Iraq War 5) Bills to increase broadband access across USA Probably for some the Hamas/Israel ceasefire. Should be noted she was a senator in the minority her entire senate career. Stuff you may not consider accomplishments, like fighting against the bush budget bills of 01/03, Voted against federal marriage amendment after her husbands presidenciy's record on gay marriage rights, and I think the lily ledbetter act was created or sponsored by Clinton after that ruling by the totally LIBERAL supreme court of the united states. edit: quoted wrong post.

God, so much to unpack from last night. Isolated from it all, Trump openly talking about his briefings and the body language and how upset they were that leaders don't follow their suggestions is really something!

QUOTE (shipps @ Sep 8, 2016 -> 04:08 PM) Would it hurt to let Larson start the first game and let Whitehair get a little extra time to get acclimated? It may hurt Jay Cutler.
-
So Zaidman tweeted out that Whitehair is probably our starting C, that's the way coaches are talkin.

QUOTE (TheTruth05 @ Sep 8, 2016 -> 03:46 PM) Yea that sucks lol who is your current flex starter? Watkins.
-
Well if Foster is finished I just have the probably not good Jay Ajayi.
-
Thanks Elgin for sharing this. The previous owners of our current house had a nonverbal autistic son. Mortgaged house to care for him then lost job. Group homes are something but seems a bit like an outta site outta mind solution.
-
Sigh. Death it is. I have pretty good WRs thou: AJ Green Alshon Jeffrey Sammy Watkins Larry Fitz Sterling Shephard Torrey Smith but RBs are Rawls Forte and the Miami handcuffs. Hoping Foster takes over or I find the sleeper at RB. 10 team auction league
-
Guys, need help. Death is not an option. Do I start Rawls Or do I use one of Jay Ajayi or Arian Foster week 1. Seems like thread consensus is Rawls.
-
Go in a blaze of glory dude.

QUOTE (Ezio Auditore @ Sep 8, 2016 -> 02:31 PM) Trump was actually right about the "22" number, there's the #22challenge and everything. But there was noooooooooooo reason for him to correct her. Everyone understood what she was asking. Right I mean technically they are both right, but the VA study from June 2016 was the number revised to 20, 22 was based off of the study in 2013 and the basis of that cause. Just a "Actually I know this one! People don't know this, but it's actually 22. And Iraq has a lot of oil, people forget that."
