  1. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Dec 3, 2014 -> 04:55 PM) Hopefully the Big 12 realizes they need to expand to 12. BYU should obviously be the top candidate. Not really sure after that. Central Florida is way out of the footprint but otherwise makes sense, and West Virginia is in there anyways. UCONN is way way out of the footprint. Cincinnati is quality but it's a city school in Ohio. Doesn't exactly match what they're going for. Still probably the best option after BYU. What about Houston?
  2. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 3, 2014 -> 03:52 PM) Shaq is weirdly bitter about certain players. I still am not really a fan of him on TNT, i think they tried to recreate Barkley and it just isnt the same I saw him provide value one time, and it was him breaking down the good and bad of the knicks triangle offense. And everyone on the set was like "WOW YOU SAID SOMETHING OF VALUE". I think everyone thought it would be a good idea, but had no idea how mopey he is. Re: bulls. Was so mad. Said horrible things. Strange thing to say, but to me the difference between when bulls offense is old bulls or new bulls is when Dunleavy turns it on. We are good when he's on floor because his spacing, but when he takes advantage of it we are great. Kirk though. ugh. That is not the player who is looking for the pass, Ellis was the shooter on that play. If you are gonna foul you have to be close so he can't put his arms up and claim a shooting motion. That and Gasol knew Ellis was shooter and was all over it, Ellis would have had to do a Nowitski sky shot for the win.
  3. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 2, 2014 -> 10:35 PM) For a truckload after the Bulls match a max offer sheet. Oh well, salary cap won't matter. This team will just need to simmer with it's parts. Add in more wing depth this draft. I love having a player who can get fouls at will. It's what I always hated about other teams and I love it so much.
  4. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Dec 2, 2014 -> 11:18 PM) That's the same as bullying 50 years ago. It's not anything new or special. So, if it's worth cracking down on bullying in school why is not worth cracking down on bullying outside of it.
  5. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Dec 2, 2014 -> 11:16 PM) One can be ignored though, that's my point. You being on the internet is a choice. You being physically present at the same school as a bully is not. It doesn't matter if only you are paying attention, others can see and hear about it going on.
  6. I'm not sure I care about the running the ball angle. The run blocking is terrible. We knew going in that this offense viewed short passes and dumpoffs to the RB as rushes.
  7. It's the same, it isn't fake people, it is their friends at school. It's no different if someone threatened you over phone vs in front of you. One isn't made up because of the medium.
  8. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 2, 2014 -> 06:16 PM) My personal fave. That was perfect.
  9. I'm sure you will go far telling middle school kids to care less about their social status.
  10. Ryan just bores me. He coaches the types of teams I've seen too many times and could go years and years before watching again.
  11. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 2, 2014 -> 07:00 PM) I wouldnt consider hiring a short time OC from a program a good hire. Top tier programs are supposed to hire proven commodities, at least with some HC experience. Doesn't this answer your own question?
  12. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 2, 2014 -> 09:55 PM) I think that people getting in trouble for them happens very, very rarely. Twitter is actually starting to get some notoriety as a place where it's very easy to harass and threaten people with no consequences. Yes. I'm not sure where I stand legally on this. I think it's a good question to answer for the USSC. However, I think, for media companies, they have a responsibility to help employees with the hate mail. Women journalists just get killed with disgusting comments and emails constantly. Constantly. Twitter, it's just gross. How do they deal? Will they rely on individual flagging? They get in trouble when a popular person gets a tweet removed because trolls flagged it. But ultimately, not sure this isn't their problem.
  13. I would not send that to Oakland for 1 year of Samardjiza. I would hate that deal. I'd hate that deal not because i love those players, but because that basically means we are done with trades because that is all of our talent I wouldn't identify as core prospects.
  14. http://grantland.com/the-triangle/searchin...erence-problem/ I'd hate this (see bulls mention). I can't stand west coast games. 9:30pm games are the worst. I feel bad for every CT team in the west.
  15. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Dec 2, 2014 -> 05:53 PM) I think they could easily acquire both Lester and Samardzija. Frankly, they need to as their rotation is incredibly thin. Frankly, the more I think about this, the more I think Beane is using the White Sox as leverage against the Red Sox. The Red Sox are in a much better position to trade for Samardzija both regarding their minor league depth, their major league team, and their ability to spend. I just don't think the White Sox can afford to trade quite a few of their guys right now. That's fine actually, I'm okay being leverage in this situation.
  16. He's a top assistant on a top program with a connection to Nebraska. I have a hard time imagining anyone from Nebraska thinking hiring an Oregon assistant as "vanilla".
  17. Jimmy Butler will be re-signed. There is no question.
  18. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 1, 2014 -> 10:56 PM) What is 2 years? He's been an OC for one year. He was named OC after Kelley left. Are you not counting this year as a year?
  19. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 1, 2014 -> 10:33 PM) Its been reported by multiple people so far without it being "official" I guess there could be changes. And we dont hate Frost, he's just been a coordinator ONE year, thats the type of HC jobs that are usually available in MAC level hirings. 2 years? I think it would be a good hire. Nubs clearly wanted someone who would make Nebraska their dream job for years. Never underestimate the alumni's love for a true son. It might not work out but that's why you don't make change for change's sake.
  20. QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Dec 1, 2014 -> 09:03 PM) Who is your starting second baseman as of now? One of Semien/Johnson. I do not think 2b is a strength right now, and I'm certainly not excited about extending that to SS as well.
  21. QB who throws a lot of interceptions in first half and makes up for it with second half comebacks...no thanks.
  22. I'm really sick of the amount of "fine defensively" players who have not established themselves offensively we continue to peg onto our team. Our defense, collectively, is terrible. If we go into next year with an infield of Gillaspie - Semien - Johnson - Abreu I would cry watching our pitching squandered. None of our infield prospects have forced their way on our team. They have been pretty good in AAA, and bad on the big league team. Until they prove otherwise I'm not going to hold a spot for Semien on this infield.
  23. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Dec 1, 2014 -> 08:00 PM) It really is too bad Illinois didn't have a competent AD in place in 2009 to fire Zook while the program still had a lot of talent. A new coach could have taken over, had a couple 8-4 type seasons right off the bat and actually had a chance to build a legit program at Illinois. Sigh. Come, high profile coaches, to Illinois, where the unrealistic expectations of our fans just axed a coach 1 year from a BCS bowl. We'll be 100% behind you though!
