Some fun highlights from last night for those that missed game: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2262433...ights-and-recap

Smith-Kruger-Hossa ... Okay

QUOTE (Jake @ Nov 11, 2014 -> 06:48 PM) Also, at some point, Thibs might have to think about how he can get Rose and Brooks on the floor at the same time. You can't always do that, particularly due to their defense, but he ought to look for matchups that allow us to get Brooks out there without coming at a direct expense to Rose. Brooks' defense has been surprisingly good to me, especially so early in the season. I think it will look even better when our bigs figure out the d a little better (/ noah gets healthy). It really is remarkable how every year we get a vet min small point guard and see them flourish. It makes total sense to me why, but still impressive. I feel like for the 4th year in a row I'll be like "but Brooks was the best of all of them! We can't let him go!"

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Nov 11, 2014 -> 05:19 PM) Gibson? That guy has always been a leaper. Pau, now that I can see Gibson hurt his ankle vs. cleveland though. Last night was first time he looked more comfortable jumping at a stand still.
-
Then I don't buy it. It is 1-2 years too early for this move.
-
Is it possible this is the one time where the hype over how much a star player will get will not at all match-up to what people pay him?
-
Also, Last night watching the rebounding. I really do think 80% of this is Jo and Gibson's inability to jump.
-
QUOTE (chw42 @ Nov 11, 2014 -> 03:49 PM) I hope he starts making more of those wide open jumpers. He's thrown up a couple of clunkers this year shooting-wise. He was terrible against Cleveland and a big reason why we lost that game (bad shooting + no rebounding). His overall numbers on the year are decent though. He's been fairly efficient and the blocks help his defensive numbers. When the offense really has into garbage mode, Gasol has been the one who could create his own shot. Actually, it really has been comforting. When the offense has run into the doldrums (i.e. when Kirk comes into the game): 1) Rose has shown he can still get a basket at will OR 2) Gasol will iso and ole` his defenders into a basket or foul OR 3) Jimmy will get fouled That is 2 things we didn't have last year and 3 should have had but wasn't happenin'

QUOTE (shysocks @ Nov 11, 2014 -> 03:15 PM) Eh, IMO Detroit is a rung above the woebegone East teams despite the early record. Not great but not an automatic walkover either. They have some talent. I sat second row sideline last night. First time I have been even remotely that close to the floor at an NBA game and it was a blast. One thing I learned: deciding to call a charge or a block can be incredibly difficult. Derrick wasn't even one step slow and he had some circus passes, as others have noted. Pau has to get his body language in check; on one pass from Rose to his ankles, in particular, he practically rolled his eyes out of his head before getting back on D. The way the UC erupted for Big Macs is still hilarious. And Benny remains the best mascot in sports. I've never been at the 100 level, really want to. Toronto will be a big test.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Nov 11, 2014 -> 02:12 PM) It's hard to be a true pg when nobody around you can score. It will be interesting to see what his assist numbers are this year, assuming he plays most of the season of course. EDIT: And I shouldn't say "true" pg as he's still going to be a score first guy but you get my point. I feel like Kurt Thomas was the only one who truly benefitted from staying high, letting Rose drive and kick it back out. Now you see Gasol is gonna get a lot of wide open jumpers from there.
-
Second half less fun offensively, however, jimmy is gonna get some wide open threes from Derrick. Waiting for the but but but where is Doug?!?! Crowd. He'll play soon enough. He looked real dumb on d tonight.
-
This has been beautiful offensive basketball by the Bulls. Rose has made everything easy for his teammates and Gasol with an early double double.
-
QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Nov 10, 2014 -> 10:38 PM) So we all agree that LeBron is coming to the Bulls next year? #2015plan

QUOTE (iamshack @ Nov 10, 2014 -> 10:33 PM) Just like the game last year, when he didn't get the signal on the 4th down play where Cobb was wide open. Dude does have a lot of concussions.

I bet Cleveland is putting that out there to further distance themselves from the tampering allegation that came out of the Love trade.

QUOTE (Knuckles @ Nov 10, 2014 -> 08:50 PM) Reports out there (Sam Smith?) suggesting Kevin Love to opt out of contract at the end of season and test free agency with Lakers on his mind. That.was.quick I call B.S. Every player is rumored to go to Lakers.

MULTIPLE FRONTS! MULTIPLE PLAYERS! MULTIPLE COVERAGES! fare thee well, 2013 bears offseason press.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Nov 10, 2014 -> 07:44 PM) @LaurenceWHolmes: In their last 12 games, #Bears have given up 30+ 7 times. 50+ 3 times. In the last 4 games vs GB, #Packers avg 38ppg The crazy thing is usually when you see real blowouts in NFL, a lot of the scores aren't even offensive. It's the opposing O getting crushed with pick sixes sprinkled with a return. But with the Bears it has been the opposing team just getting a touchdown every drive. Which is CRAZY because I feel like even if the bears played their own defense we'd stall out because of mental mistakes on offense.

FabDuel sounds exquisite

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Nov 10, 2014 -> 05:36 PM) Gotta hope Gruden or Cowher wants to jump back in. They didn't two years ago, so not sure they would now. And they'd probably want some personnel control, and Emery isn't giving that up. Emery isn't here in any scenario. I like Phil Emery personally. I think he tried to put together an organization on the same page, top down, like we've seen work. But he didn't do it. It's his 3rd year, is the team better? No. Did his decisions to stopgap the talent before a full rebuild result in playoffs? No. Has the team regressed every year? Yes. So, he brought in talent. Talent didn't win. Handpicked coach didn't win. And he should get another shot? No way.
-
Man, these are some dark days. I was laughing last night, but the Bears are far from being a playoff team. They don't have a lot of picks, again. They'll go in with what, 6? Worst part is I don't see the obvious coaching jumps this year. Every successful team is pretty young into their coaches careers.

Just like it was last time for Hillary. A national lovefest.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Nov 10, 2014 -> 03:34 PM) I don't think it is symbolic to fire Tucker or Decamillis right now. They are both not doing their jobs, and it is quite alarming how bad it has become. Those are two coordinAtors in way over their heads and losing them right now won't hurt one bit That being said, I absolutely did not expect to hear Trestman put his coordinators and assistants on blast, it isn't in his nature. He is like Jauron, he is gonna go down with the Shoop This isn't an indicator of a bad coach. Coaches don't do that to their assistants.
-
QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Nov 10, 2014 -> 03:17 PM) Trestman on the radio this morning stated that he still believes in the current coaching staff..... How oblivious can you be.... Yeah it would be so much better if he threw his assistants under the bus. That would fix the team. The team sucks, our coaching sucks, I know everyone wants a symbolic gesture of anger, but who cares about that? You think he's really happy with what he's gotten out of his assistants?
