  1. I really thought the franchise was on the right track. They seemed to have a philosophy that was being implemented top down. Now, I'm at like 85% this is a failed experiment. We have the talent to be a playoff team (not even talking about championship at all), but we just have way too undisciplined a team. Good teams may have a really bad QB game and still win. But you don't see good teams consistently make the very very stupid plays the Bears make and win. It has caused us to lose games to lesser opponents consistently. Jake said it perfectly with the comment about how we have all the negatives of a conservative offense except with the high-turnovers of a high-risk offense. In most years, 10-6 will get you to the playoffs. Does anyone see the bears going off on a 8-3 finish? What a waste of years from Marshall and Forte.
  2. I feel like Bama is gonna end up on top again and everyone will be disappointed. I don't think 1 loss will kill them because Bo Wallace will have a 4 INT game vs someone
  3. Jeez conte is not made for the NFL
  4. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 5, 2014 -> 06:35 PM) If only 2 routes go out and one guy has triple coverage, then either the other guy has single coverage or its a really poorly designed play because both routes are in the same area. Either that or there should be an open running lane for the QB. Or a running back escaping after blocking, or a TE escaping. Something else had to be open. 3 guys on Marshall leaves only 8 remaining on the defense. That's not true that the other would have single coverage.
  5. When we only have two routes go out for extra coverage, it's going to be a tight space. We've seen those passes completed a lot.
  6. K. Hard to blame Jay or Marshall for that. Clear contact before ball arrived, also faceguarding. That was a bad no call.
  7. Jay has happy feet already. Gonna be a fun game.
  8. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 5, 2014 -> 06:16 PM) Yes they did. They allowed him to leave the final year of his deal and join KC Right but he requested to leave. No org would force him to stay, it will kill recruiting.
  9. It's really frustrating watching the bears be the stupidest team on the field for two years now. The only other team that comes close is the cowboys, our 8-8 / 9-7 brethren. I'm not sure Trestman is capable of getting a team disciplined enough for the playoffs.
  10. They didn't let Toub go.
  11. I'm just getting Hunter Hillenmeyer flashbacks.
  12. Starting to become depressed. What I'm gathering is that all of our young talent are only a good hitter if platooned for their respective handedness and are not capable of playing defense. Sounds like we are close.
  13. I'm beginning to wonder if Ratliff will be out for the year.
  14. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Oct 3, 2014 -> 03:13 PM) Oregon losing isn't going to affect MSU. MSU is already going to be behind two SEC teams and 1-loss champions of the PAC12, Big12 and ACC, so MSU needs at least two of those three conference champions to have two losses plus ND have at least one loss. I think Oklahoma may well end up undefeated. I hate Bob Stoops. I hope he loses twice and complains about how tough the big 12 competition is.
  15. I would be hardpressed to believe that losing an away game to Oregon, who will very likely still be a top ten team is going to hurt Michigan State very much. Especially considering Oregon does this every year. College football is so weird this year. Reminds me of 07. Not sure if chaos is better for the playoff or worse as the gap between 1-4 and 5-8 is going to be pretty small.
  16. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 2, 2014 -> 07:27 PM) I feel like recently the bears have started playing the Injury report game. Really brutal couple of years.

Can somebody tell me why a hitting coach for a major league baseball team should be entitled to their position free of criticism? It may indeed be an impossible task. They may very well be victim to circumstances outside of their control. They may be scapegoats for organizational failures, but in the end they will still need to show results in spite of all of that and if not, there are thousands willing to take over and try a better approach. There are many people a lot worse off than MLB hitting coaches.
  18. QUOTE (Knuckles @ Oct 1, 2014 -> 08:09 PM) Noah praises Mirotic. Was there a snippet you were going to post or did you just want to say that?

No on Butler. I can't believe that Butler is 1 year younger than Alex Gordon. I feel like Butler has been around way longer.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 1, 2014 -> 04:00 PM) Look at the Royals though. They have way less talent than Oakland IMO and look where they are. Do they though?
  22. bmags replied to VAfan's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Honestly looking at how much talent there is on the As roster compared to ours and to see the result it's more depressing to me than anything else on how far we have to go.
  23. Good news about Biedschied leaving is on 10/11 when 3 top 40 recruits visit Missouri we now have 2 schollies. Though if we just land Bryant I'll be happy, land one of Briscoe or Blakeney and that is a game changing class. This year will be painful though.
  24. QUOTE (Boogua @ Oct 1, 2014 -> 12:41 PM) It looked like he was heavily leaning Illinois, but there is almost never a lock when it comes to recruiting. Jalen Coleman was an ND "lock" for a while and look how that turned out. I think people need to realize that the way this information is gleaned is not very scientific and reporting on it will almost certainly get you clicks from all fan bases. Until they sign, it's hard to bank on it. Rivals Mizzou's Pete Scantlebury just went on a rant on how fickle it all is after 6 month verbal TE commit for Mizzou football decommitted after the guy had spent weeks on a breakdown of him.
