Yikes, I feel like Conor would just call for fastballs high and inside to get back at the cruel cruel world.

Konerko as backup catcher.

Woj- http://sports.yahoo.com/news/sources—cavs-...-185536749.html no mention of bulls.

I don't trust that Stein actually has any bulls sources so I feel like this is coming from Twolves for Cavs. Although maybe Wiggins has never actually been offered and this is the cavs just seeing what national response would be to trading wiggins since they seem like the type of org that is scared of their own shadow.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jul 22, 2014 -> 04:59 PM) If it helps satisfy the craving, Jeff Tuel and Thad Lewis are going to battle for the Bills #2 QB job. As Chris Sale would say, "crave satiated"

Ughhghg can't wait for camp fodder news.

Also this is why Bairstow I think will make it on the team as a reserve, he's good defensively, but I don't see much more than a 3-4 year career for him. He can't dunk it standing under the rim, he was getting rejected left and right in summer league. Maybe he'll be a defensive stalwart but that is worrisome.

At the very least, a taller Carlos Boozer would have been a much more acceptable Carlos Boozer. His inability to finish under the hoop in his time got worse as his athleticism declined.

Milt Plumlee sounds pretty good? http://www.usab.com/news-events/news/2014/...eam-roster.aspx

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 22, 2014 -> 03:30 PM) I'd have to guess a big selling point would be to play in his home town. Ooooh, right right right right.

QUOTE (Boogua @ Jul 22, 2014 -> 03:08 PM) So are you saying individual O-rating and d-rating? I mean, I think it's useful, but I still don't think it's great. To give an example though, Adrian Dantley led the league in PER, O-rating, and win shares (which takes o-rating and d-rating into account) and he didn't make all nba 1st team or finish top 5 in MVP voting. It reminds me of the Kevin Love argument that people were making to say he was a top 5 player in the league (I don't think he is, but he could prove me wrong). No, like what is the points/100 possessions for a lineup of Kirk-Butler-MDJ-Boozer-Noah. What's the Points/100 possessions for a lineup of Kirk-Butler-MDJ-Gibson-Noah. What is points per 100 possessions for dj-snell-butler-gibson-nazr. These help show how good Gibson is at defense, but they are also dramatic in his case. I think they help to show how dominant/terrible some players are, but when you get to average players they don't really tell you much.

QUOTE (Boogua @ Jul 22, 2014 -> 03:52 PM) I would take most "advanced" statistics in basketball with a grain of salt. It's so much of a team sport that it's hard to measure in black and white individual statistics. Lots of people at realgm like advanced statistics (like RAPM), but it's led people to argue that Kevin Garnett is a top 5 basketball player ever. The really meaningful stats to me are isolating specific lineups a player is in and measuring their offensive and defensive efficiency (points per 100 possesions allowed/scored). Also Marion played in west vs better talent at wing than the east offers.

QUOTE (scs787 @ Jul 22, 2014 -> 02:34 PM) Here's a good time to ask this....Anyone know how "real plus minus" is all calculated? On paper it would appear that Marion is a solid offensive player, yet RPM has him ranked as the 50th SF with a -1.72. Whereas Dunleavy is ranked 13th with a 1.18 And then also defensively Dunleavy ranks 9th while Marion ranks 21st. I don't know, but while I do believe Dunleavy is better than Marion offensively, defensively I'm guessing that had to do with Marion having Dalembert and Nowitski behind him and Dunleavy having Taj and Noah.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jul 22, 2014 -> 02:35 PM) At some point aren't the Bulls out of roster spots? Rose, Butler, McDermott, Gasol, Noah, Taj, Mirotic, Hinrich, Dunleavy, Snell, the other 2nd rounder, Brooks...Marion? Or is the choice between Marion and Brooks? It is "required" to have 13 roster spots (not really though, you can just pay that $500k instead of signing a player), and on most game nights, it is likely that Bairstow would sit. The bulls currently have 12.

"Bulls Rumors" was retweeted by 87.7 the game (I followed to get sox tickets once)...anyway they tweeted that Bulls players have been reaching out to Marion to come to the Bulls. I think if he was going to take min he'd just go back to Dallas, but if we could get him here for that I would be ecstatic. I'm pretty nervous about Dunleavy/McDermott pulling the defensive weight at SF. Rose-Butler-Marion-Taj-Noah...oof that would be as stingy as Deng was and I love Marion's offensive versatility.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 22, 2014 -> 01:55 PM) I have no problem with this. Genuinely don't. If Hinrich is out there with Rose it's for his defense and it's either giving Jimmy Butler some extra rest or its creating a lineup that combines extra outside shooting with solid perimeter D. In short bursts that could very well be an effective lineup for the Bulls. He's talking about Hinrich.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 21, 2014 -> 11:37 PM) One of the best passing centers of your lifetime? Hmm Okay, but again, that's not a total that should be particularly difficult for a starting PG to hit.
-
QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jul 21, 2014 -> 10:51 PM) I still think this is a bit overblown. Who the hell could Kirk pass to the last 2 years? When Thibs runs out Noah (no jumpshot), Taj (no perimeter game), Butler (can't shoot consistently) , it's pretty tough to pass the ball around efficiently. Okay, why could our starting center create more assists per 36 than our starting point guard? The excuses are ridiculous.
-
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 21, 2014 -> 10:18 PM) Is Marion supposedly coming here? I know they kicked tires but presume he wasn't coming for the vet min. I'd like that move, however, when this team didn't have a single point guard outside of Rose, using the BAE on something other then a PG (such as Marion as you imply above) made zero sense. I disagree.
-
QUOTE (scs787 @ Jul 21, 2014 -> 10:19 PM) Who shot .001% better than Kirk, was .003% worse from 3, turned the ball over .8 more, and is far worse defensively.....But, he shoots FTs better, so there's that I guess. He's a much, much better facilitator. Someone you'd like to see with a lineup of shooters.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 21, 2014 -> 08:34 PM) Toronto may never trade directly for a Chicago pitcher again. Maybe after he's played somewhere else like Mark. If it makes them feel any better it's not like we've received back great value, either.

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Jul 21, 2014 -> 07:38 PM) I was looking around at some reviews, some said it gets better after the cliche/weird pilot, I guess we'll see. We'll probably keep watching, nothing else on. Hoping that group would have something else to offer beside sexual frustration from a married man. That hasn't been beaten to death.

QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ Jul 21, 2014 -> 08:55 PM) As of 2 weeks ago when Kirk first agreed, we did not have a legit backup PG who can step up and start if Rose was to go down. Kirk was actually offered more by a couple other teams, but decided to stay. If you are the FO , i dont know if you can just let Kirk walk knowing that there's no other floor general type PG out there that you can get with the room MLE or vet min. He flexibility to play the 2 and defend well is definitely a plus. There's Jameer Nelson.
