  1. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 18, 2014 -> 04:55 PM) I don't think he is that interested in Boston; I don't see why going to Boston makes things better. They aren't set-up to win, especially not if they give up the package being discussed. I guess I don't know their cap situation so maybe they have the ability to add another star a year from now? Eh, Boston isn't too far. Rondo/Love/Green is playoffs in east. Plus #6 pick. Plus they are a competent organization with a terrific coach. Obviously not taken into account is I have no idea what Boston's proposed assets are.
  2. QUOTE (scs787 @ Jun 18, 2014 -> 04:44 PM) Ye have little faith...want a cookie? I'm fairly confident, for whatever reason, they'll get one of the 2. Melo probably makes the more sense since he's probably opting out so it wouldn't cost them draft picks and it wouldn't require completely gutting the team. It's not that I have little faith. It was obvious to me it was going to be Melo because time and time again this Front Office has proven that they lack the ability to pursue players who are under contract. Free agency they understand! Okay, in 2 years x player will be available. They can plan for it, they get it. Having to trade for Love? They have no idea how that works. I imagine they feel awkward about how to start the conversation with Flip. Maybe some smalltalk, but then what? Ugh, it's just so much easier in free agency.
  3. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jun 18, 2014 -> 04:33 PM) He probably would have blown out both knees by now if he were on the Bulls. Hahaha
  4. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jun 18, 2014 -> 04:22 PM) Kawhi Leonard learned how to shoot. He always had the athleticism and physical make up to be a star in this league. Obviously matching up with the right coaching staff helped him get where he is but he'd be just as good somewhere else as he is in SA now. Would he learn how to shoot if he was on the Bulls?
  5. Bill Simmons tweeting that the Celts are in the lead to land Love with the Warriors not wanting to rid K. Thompson and Bulls focusing on Melo. And the race to end up with neither begins.
  6. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jun 18, 2014 -> 03:39 PM) I've played 3-4 holes perfect before, just awesome drives, 2nd shots and putts, and then followed it up with 3 awful holes where i'm all over the place and hitting shots fat. Consistency is why the guys on the tour are on the tour. When friends and I play and we hit terrible shots or have terrible holes, we laugh and scream "GOLFING!" Because that's what it is - a bunch of terrible/not good stuff that pisses you off, and then you hit one great shot and it's all worth it. I usually play city courses, but Sunday for fathers day I played at a country club. It's amazing how hard it is to be consistent on a good course. for a straight up, 140yd-220 straight fairway shot, I will have a great hit and people will say " man, you have a beautiful swing". Now put me in rough, on a hill, in a trap, etc, and I can't recover. And good courses constantly put you in "recovery mode". Those are the shots (within 100yds, chipping onto a downhill green) that make you a good golfer. And they are the shots you can't even really practice!
  7. Has anyone actually asked about the loss of velocity from E. Johnson? Seems like it's just about his performance. Edit: By anyone, I mean any media to Sox front office or even media like Steve Stone.
  8. Great writeup. Loved hearing about his fastball. As we saw with Sale, pitchers get smarter and more confident in their "non-out" pitches. He may start out with us trusting his slider, but eventually he'll realize how effective a fastball of his speed and caliber can be if placed correctly (and just coming from a left-hander). Then as he ages, we give him a cutter. Anyway Hall of fame.
  9. So it appears low is not a zone to pitch to trout. Waiting to figure out what zone is acceptable.
  10. QUOTE (oldsox @ Jun 17, 2014 -> 09:24 PM) Whatever happened to Rex Hudler? I always (perhaps erroneously) thought Rex Kickass was Rex Hudler with a name change.
  11. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 17, 2014 -> 04:59 PM) I really don't see how the Heat are that much different then the Bulls. Our core, which at one point included Deng, Rose, and Noah, was comparable with a very strong bench. Now the core has changed slightly, however, the fatal flaw has been the fact that our star (Rose) has not been able to stay on the court. I fully believe the Bulls were going to win the title the year Rose went down and to be frank, they probably could have had a chance this year as well (although hard to say that as the Spurs clearly played tremendously in the finals). A lot of "ifs" in there, but the Bulls, much like the Spurs, have done a great job bargain shopping in free agency and hitting on draft picks despite not having top picks. Mrotic, Taj, Butler, Asik (Picks); Bellinelli, Nate, MDJ, DJ Augustin (FA Signings). Note, I'm not using this as an example of why not to make a move because our core is getting older and I am a proponent of moving Noah for Love and then going all out for Lebron. I say that because I believe in extending our core we should add more superstars. I love Noah and hope he stays with the Bulls, however, he's getting old and having a chance to get a superstar who is 5 years younger seems like a no brainer to extend the overall window (while also still allowing flexibility for a LBJ / Melo). However, I have no idea if we could pull two of those guys. Here's the thing, I would be shocked if bulls are first team in history of league to have to legitimately move a player like Noah to the wolves for Love. TBH, I think adding love at expense of Noah is lateral to disastrous. Love would work on Bulls because of Noah.
  12. Also, for as much as the spurs "are not the heat" the core of Duncan (greatest PF of all time), manu and parker is better than what the bulls have. They've been able to identify and develop late and cheap talent better to keep those tools around.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jun 17, 2014 -> 02:32 PM) Really? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_rights_...sein's_Iraq Considering what might be to come, yeah. We are probably already at about 130k deaths, if not more. And apparently ISIS will try to enflame the Shiites into attacking Sunnis and start this up again.
  14. I thought this was a brilliant article free of the tropes of last night like (US doesn't quit! Good to the last drop!) http://www.espnfc.com/blog/world-cup-centr...na-in-world-cup edit: misspelling.
  15. I'm hoping Portugal is this year's version of 2010 France.
  16. Jozy was pretty good at holding the ball upfield and letting possession get started. I think Aron is better than we saw, just a tough position to go in at 25' and start up.
  17. Well then. Adams it is.
  18. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 17, 2014 -> 03:14 PM) Looked like by far the biggest crowd of all the sites they showed on ESPN around the USA. yes, it was not a good idea to meet our whole family there with kids We ended up at Wabash Tap, also a good time. Most of the rest of the crowd that couldn't get in went there.
  19. It's nice seeing lostfan post again, btw.
  20. Not to mention if there is a position or player type I'm 100% confident the Bulls can identify and develop, it's Jimmy. I was excited when it seemed like his shot was increasing, and maybe with more offensive options we see him blossom, but with him being a 30% 3pt shooter...eh, okay. I appreciate his ability to draw a foul though. And he's a good man. And handsome.

QUOTE (lostfan @ Jun 17, 2014 -> 04:49 AM) It's so maddening that the media treats them like their opinions are worth listening to as well. I mean, literally, the same idiots who insisted everything was going to be fine and when they finally got embarrassed enough to say out loud the original non-plan was working, swore the surge magically fixed everything. All we got to do is stay there forever at a cost of hundreds of billions per year. Piece of cake. Let's not pretend we shook the can before we opened it though, let's act pissed that it sprayed everywhere. I mean, what we've basically found out is antagonistic dictators whom threaten war to retain strength at home are preferable to chaos, even from a human rights perspective (at this point right?) The chaos has opened up even more genocidal situations than before.
  22. Well, this should be an exciting 2 weeks. I said I was going to ignore it because of the inevitable disappointment, but instead I'm going to enjoy it and then ignore the bulls until the season starts and I get irrationally excited about a 2nd round exit.
  23. We should be rooting for a Portugal Ghana draw right?
  24. So no difference on game vs. Nigeria.
  25. Yes, hiring away their shooting coach would be aces.
