Had a water main repair where they never turned back on the water before the weekend. Our alder mans asst. had people over in two hours. My first call to city was just a runaround. Was also able to get extended street parking for rehearsal dinner guests on a two hour street so no one had to leave to repay.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 27, 2013 -> 04:10 PM) Of course it is but the facilities and money at those small schools don't lend itself to consistent results. On the Lynch for heisman front. Check out the 2003 voting and tell me Roethlisberger wasn't better than Jason white. But the MAC doesn't count. That whole Jason White/Weinke era was the worst. -

I've never watched a game with an Illini fan who wasn't crying about how announcers were biased against them. -

So how much is NIU willing to pay these OOC teams to come to NIU? -
I don't understand why people don't call their alderman more often. Makes stuff you think will be hard so much easier.

So pumped for Mizzou vs. JFF on Saturday. -
QUOTE (SleepyWhiteSox @ Nov 26, 2013 -> 08:54 PM) The heavy workload still irks me, not that that's the reason for the injuries. I just think that's what separates him from someone like Pop who does a great job of taking care of his players when necessary. Did anyone notice the completely reasonable workload this season? And we still lost our superstar, noah is still injured and Butler is injured. Oh and great thing Bulls hired some trainer from california.

Man this is terrible. I am so down right now. Trying to think of comparably terrible things to happen to a franchise, this is up there. Bulls have to try and get a part of this draft this year. Let us hope for a Tim Duncan situation. There is no point for the franchise to try and win just because. There is finally some big man depth this year, you have to try to get cheaper talent.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Nov 25, 2013 -> 10:48 PM) i dont even think they will need a surge, I think they will just hang around at the 7-8 seed all season. Unless ALL of the toys are removed from the toybox I'm just thinking of those 07-08 teams that would be 10 under .500 at all star break and then sneak into 7th or 8th seed second half with 37 wins.
-
Here's the problem, about 10 teams (most in east) are going to really stop giving a damn in feb-april. The Bulls with Thibs will never stop caring. So we may be an awful team that suddenly has a surging second half that puts us in at 7 or 8 seed.
-
I'm so down. It's hard, I kind of feel like it's just straight up over, gonna have 18 mill committed to a beaten player. Also Jake, I have a hard time believing anyone is gonna give up a 1st this year if they think they'd have a remote shot of lottery (i.e. not playoffs).
-
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Nov 23, 2013 -> 06:33 AM) I don't think the Bulls are a playoff team in the west. At best a 6-8 seed. Their D was shredded in the second half by precise passing/ball movement, penetration and a barrage of 3-pointers by Portland. That's what these west teams do to you. And it's pathetic that with an 80+ million dollar payroll the Bulls have so little depth. Hinrich is already playing way too many minutes, Deng played 43 tonight after 35 or so last night in the Denver altitude. Just a matter of time before one or both go down. Dude just give it a rest tonight.

just to clarify what surprised me, it was the lede of the article on the threats, not the cheating, which obviously just came out Mizzou had a pretty big cheating scandal. Cheating is BAD, no doubt, but it more bothers me that people would cover up physical threats toward faculty. -
Clearly the takeaway from Duke's post is that housing policy needs to be reevaluated in America.

I don't know, that was pretty shocking to me. I was in classes with football players a lot, it's not like it's out in the open behavior like this if it happens. I figured they'd mostly just not give a s***. -
QUOTE (Jake @ Nov 22, 2013 -> 05:13 PM) There was very little optimism about rookie Jimmy. He ended up looking okay in the playoffs when half the team was dead, but even then he looked pretty inept on the offensive end. I'm pretty sure scs787 was the only guy on the Jimmy bandwagon post-rookie season after seeing him play in summer league B.S. I'm pretty sure you posted Jimmy's PER after his first month and it was like 15.4. Then we stopped caring because that team had like 5 wings on it. SG/SF was way more stocked with jimmy's first year than Snells.

QUOTE (Y2HH @ Nov 22, 2013 -> 03:15 PM) Like I said to them, I'll say to you. You say that now. In 10 years remember you were happy about this, because if you thought it was worse before, wait until the Republicans enter with THIS sort of power now. Alright, bud, mark my words: I'm more in favor of a functional government. You shouldn't the threat of a filibuster to bring nominations to a hault. And when democrats lead again, I'm going to be happy that we can fill government positions with people. And then I hope they hire 8 million czars and take everyones property.
-
Let's just put it this way, it was way more shortsighted for dems to oppose filibuster in 06 than it is to ruin it now.
-
QUOTE (Y2HH @ Nov 22, 2013 -> 03:03 PM) You're happier now. Wait until a party shift occurs. This is shortsighted. No it isn't. Because democrats acquiesce to Republicans anyway for their legislative wants. Democrats can't even get heads of departements up SIX YEARS LATER. And why? For no reason, and it isn't covered by media. Nobody seems to care, so at that point, yeah, majority rule.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Nov 22, 2013 -> 04:02 PM) We wont know anything about Snell until next season. This is his Thibs redshirt season Even with Butler though you saw him step on the court and immediately do things well like rebounding and steals. We drafted 2 three point shooters that can't shoot threes. Hip Hip.. I went to bed after the first half thinking Rose was back, only to see he probably missed every single shot in 2nd half and... somehow only got to line once.
-
QUOTE (Y2HH @ Nov 22, 2013 -> 02:55 PM) I'm not sure how good of an idea this is, though. When the day comes that the opposing party is in power, you won't be as happy about this. I think I'm happier after the last 20 years that you can play offense as opposed to smoltering defense.
-
Team is very thin. Teague just is a lost cause. He can do 3/4s of a good basketball play but the last 1/4th he'll mess up so spectacularly it ruins the whole thing. Honestly, Mike James, just do it. Snell also, think that's a miss.
