  1. Hinrich is still good defensively, and our 2nd unit has really thrived in being a stifling D unit. I just hate the flow of the offense with him. Honestly, I don't see the difference between hinrich at the top of the key and noah. You know both are just looking to pass.
  2. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jan 22, 2013 -> 11:04 AM) Who replaces him? He's been really popular around campus also. Does the standard Buffalo Wild Wings weekly interview, always comes and talks with students during ticket lines, emails students frequently. I hear he's a really nice interview. I think Haith's done a great job. This group hasn't played together until this year and while not a top tier team they will definitely be a tourney team. He found great transfers to put the team in good shape after a huge senior class left the program vulnerable to rebulding, and has nice classes coming in after. Whatever happens, I hope the NCAA acts quickly. This s*** ruined our program in the early 00s (which ended up not charging anything iirc), and could do the same again. This has been a horrid past 12 months as a mizzou fan.
  3. So I guess the benching for noah was due to him spouting off and Thibs benching him. Noah apologized. I think one of the reasons Thibideau is such a well-liked coach despite his demanding style is he will never speak ill of a player to the media. They know he won't sell them out. You have to respect the hell out of thibs for this year. We looked so awful to start the season, and he coached these scrubs into shape quick.
  4. Does anyone have a nice resource for how to block images, so I don't have to worry about some of these more work inappropriate avatars?
  5. Reading the signal and the noise. Annoyed when Silver brags about the 2007 white sox prediction.
  6. Well color me pissed. I was at the game and when Memphis fell behind, Randolph and Gasol had no problem pounding the glass and shooting over the smaller backcourt. Also, Jimmy Butler played a great game Saturday, and has had a great week. But, man I can't wait until I never have to see Hinrich and Robinson as the backcourt to win us the game, again.
  7. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 21, 2013 -> 04:33 PM) I highly doubt anything will. Noah has fallen in love with taking the open, 18-foot jumper, because it's always open, because he's not very good at it. He was hitting that shot earlier in the season, but it's been brutal the past month. I reckon Thibs said "stop it", and he did it, and he got his ass benched. He's shooting 39% this month (unacceptable for a big man) and only 46% on the season (5% lower than his career average, and 8% lower than two years ago). Hopefully Noah stops taking those shots and continues to move the ball vs chucking them up just because he's open. That's my guess. I find that hard to believe with all the stupid shots some of our players put up, Thibs would make an example of Noah, who would've been very helpful preventing the Randolph tip-ins that allowed them back in it.
  8. Has anything come out about Noah and Thibs yet?
  9. Pollard also helmet-to-helmet hit welker earlier in the game.
  10. Ugh, would not be excited if I was a jags fan with this staff so far.
  11. He lost all credibility to me with this stunt. An untelevised interview on Friday night? That's what we call a media dump. Guys an asshole.
  12. I very much hope so. And it's also likely they were usually behind due to their s***ty offense, and were not seeing too many passes.
  13. I liked the Jags D, seemed like they got bogged down from a horrible offense. However, for being on the field that much they were not good at getting takeaways. They had 24 FF+INTs, the bears had 50. I loved that edge we had, and I'd hate to see it go away.
  14. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 18, 2013 -> 08:38 PM) Watching Boozer not suck has been great, but I hope the Bulls are using his newfound work ethic to find a trading partner! Schanowski on 670 today said his contract is still too large and there has been no interest.
  15. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jan 18, 2013 -> 07:46 PM) If you're asked about it, you're going to have to bulls*** something. You could deflect. He clearly loved the attention of it. Why not focus on your dead grandma instead? She was real i think.
  16. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jan 18, 2013 -> 07:39 PM) BTW, The Raiders had a ridiculous O-Line when Trestman was there. Better hope they finally make some improvements in that area. If J'marcus Webb is the bears LT next year...hoo doggy.
  17. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jan 18, 2013 -> 07:35 PM) Who actually was responsible for Gannon's success with the Raiders, Trestman or Gruden? I don't think it's an either/or. I think it's an example of the success you can have when you have an offensive scheme geared to the QB's success.
  18. So how come when Te'O is fitting the exact same behaviors you describe, you continue to just act like it was others who were the conmen.
  19. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 18, 2013 -> 06:48 PM) True, one thing that was missing last year were the complete nonsense plays, I'll give you that. I still feel like I was watching a system last year where the Bears were 100% insistent that they could take deep drops and throw the ball down the field while their O-Line was matched up one on one, which was also where I felt the Martz system failed the worst. I agree. The passing plays took way too long to develop, and usually didn't develop. Which was the opposite of what I thought we were in for.
  20. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Jan 18, 2013 -> 06:36 PM) Hiring a guy that has actually accomplished something in the NFL to me is a good idea as the organization right now has little of it from decision making positions. I could get behind it if these were young up and coming guys getting their shot but none of them are. That doesn't address whether he can legally coach.
  21. Are you drunk? It seems like your 12 year old brother took over your account or something.
  22. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jan 18, 2013 -> 05:14 PM) And none of them are leaving. He just doesnt have the same contacts as a guy who has been in the NFL for the last 6 years. Hes just not familiar. That isnt necessarily a bad thing. Being a copycat isnt always the best. I know, I'm just trying to figure out where his contacts are coming from. It doesn't seem like his dolphins days really held any long-standing relationships. But it looks like he was friends with a lot of people with Sean Payton and from his old Raiders and Niners days more than any others. There are no young bright minds coming in, these are people who have been in the NFL for a long time and rarely moved up. It'll be interesting to see.
  23. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jan 18, 2013 -> 05:05 PM) Trestman has basically no relationships with current NFL coaches. It makes perfect sense that he is hiring guys that he was familiar with in the 90s. He seems to come up a lot around Sean Paytons staff.
