QUOTE (Cknolls @ Nov 8, 2013 -> 10:42 PM) That what he tells us. New and improved and better and stuff. Not some some prehistoric policy. He keeps telling us what is good for us. He should put his two kids in the exchange. LOL Yeah, we KNOW what's good for us, we know that when we were denied health care policy because we had cancer, that's what was great. Now he's telling us that's bad? Ugh, usa used to be free baby. used to be FREEEE

Remember Peter Warrick? Man I thought he'd be awesome. -
There was a WSJ Op-Ed where someone's policy was canceled, she had cancer, and was now stuck with a plan where some of her providers were out of network. It is sad, and that does suck. But, it turns out that provider had been struggling with their individual plans and were talking about cancelining them months before. Had this happened 5 years ago she would not have been able to get any coverage because she had pre-existing conditions.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 8, 2013 -> 09:03 PM) I will point out though, that if he fires Sebellius, and he has to go through a Senate confirmation... well, why bother? So if that is a confirmation-level position, then I wouldn't fire her either. I'd just tell her to go focus on something else and have her direct report on this report straight up. This.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Nov 8, 2013 -> 08:37 PM) How would you like to be one of the people promised they could keep their coverage and now they can't? Can wipe out life savings in an instant. I said "one of" the biggest embarrassments/fiascos ever. Again, if you are the one affected by this, you have a right to be outraged. The American dream is not supposed to include the President screwing you over where now you get sick and have nothing! It takes, what, a week in the hospital to wipe out a bank account. The fact I actually voted for Obama shows you what a wreck of a country we have. A lifelong Republican who couldn't stand the thought of the other candidate. If I had it to do over, as much as I detested the sight of Romney and hearing him speak about issues, I'd reverse my vote. What Obama has done here saying people could keep coverage and lying about that is despicable. You realize if your policy was canceled you can still get other policies right?

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Nov 8, 2013 -> 06:41 PM) You do realize most conferences have 2-3 good teams? Where are these unicorn conferences with all great teams? Florida beat Toledo so they are awesome?!?!?! Georgia beat North Texas!!! Auburn beat Wash St by 7 @ Auburn, AMAZING!!! What exactly makes you believe in other conferences so much, when every other conference is as insulated as the big10? Its all hype, no one really has a clue how good any of these mid- low level teams are. Ok, great. But I'd take Alabama LSU Auburn Ole Miss Texas A&M Mizzou USC and UGA over the top 8 of b1g with a healthy margin. Doesn't mean OSU UW and MSU wouldn't win 3/4 to all games over those teams, just means there are 8 good teams there that when beaten are impressive wins. I just don't think people feel that way over wins vs Minnesota, Nebraska or PSU right now, though PSU probably closest. -

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 8, 2013 -> 06:44 PM) We added Hawaii in the hopes in 5 years they will be good again. Its like playing the stock market. I mean, look at if you scheduled Baylor 10 years ago. Big 12 especially is in an interesting shakeup mode right now. The only reason this is coming up is b/c it looks like there may be 3-4 undefeateds so people are trying to figure that out. If this was 2007 OSU would be in catbird seat and nobody would give a s***. But even if that were the case, I'd still say B1G sucks this year and be fine with it. -

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 8, 2013 -> 05:34 PM) The problem also is schedules are made so far in advance. We put Cal on the schedule 10 years ago. It looked like a better move than someone like Oregon at the time. We just put Oregon and Texas on the schedule for 2022, who knows if they will be good or not? Right. -

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Nov 8, 2013 -> 05:26 PM) When OSU beats Alabama in the NC, then the Big10 will still be bad because Iowa isnt good? What type of logic is that. Its like saying that Alabama isnt good because Arkansas would be the worst team in the Big10. Just does not compute. I think it's probably that when people thing of the b1g they think of a conference and not a single team. If FSU wins the National Championship does that make the ACC a great football conference? No, they have 2-3 good teams a year and then HUGE drop off and trash. The difference b/w OSU and FSU right now is FSU has been beating the s*** out of everyone. OSU has started to do that and it's probably going to help that out. B1G typically has a solid 5-6 teams that are good, some "bad" conference teams that are still competitive and then 2-3 trash teams. This year it's more like 1 great team 1 top 15 team, and then a whole lot of teams that I guess have ok record but nothing that makes you think they are dangerous. -

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 8, 2013 -> 05:16 PM) We'll see. If they win big bowl games then the view will change 180 degrees as usual. I don't think it's the big bowl games, it's the median teams in the big 10 that need to show off on those days because they really aren't exciting anyone in the ole eye test dept. -

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Nov 8, 2013 -> 05:08 PM) The Big is awful because that is what ESPN tells you. Havent played anybody? Alabama has played 0 ranked OOC games. FSU 0 ranked OOC games Its impossible to tell how good any of these teams are. But OSU hasnt lost in 2 years, and that should mean something. Pretty sure B1G is awful just because it's awful this year. -
Trade Deng so you can afford Samuel Dalembert?

I've yet to see this "make people use their REAL identities" do anything to actually make comment sections better. The things that make comments better is heavy moderation. If you can't supply that, don't allow comments, they aren't interesting.

Every team faces injuries, yes. Some programs can overcome them with their deep bench of 5-star talent. Doesn't mean that beating a team with their largely healthy playmakers may be a more important victory than that same team 4 weeks later with many injuries to their playmakers. -

That clemson team may not be top ten, but going into Clemson when they are very much confident and thinking they have a national title team, and not just beating them but obliterating them was the best win that could possibly happen this year. I think it's helpful to think of teams where they were ranked at the time. Sometimes they were really good wins, and that team just got killed by injuries rest of year. -
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Nov 8, 2013 -> 05:08 PM) Samuel Dalembert was out there. he signed a 2-yr 7.5 mill contract, we had league min to offer after Dunleavy. For as bad as we are at 3pt shooting we needed Dunleavy more than 4th big.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Nov 8, 2013 -> 05:00 PM) The tv guys alluded to that too. "Why are you smiling when it's 23-0? What is there to smile about???" Look, I think Oregon came off as entitled last night too. It wasn't a particularly proud night to be a Ducks fan...but yeah, I just thought these guys were saying some uncalled for s***... People having a bad day at work must look miserable the entire time or else we know they don't take their job seriously. -

QUOTE (iamshack @ Nov 8, 2013 -> 04:45 PM) All I know is they were making fun of Oregon for saying they'd score 40 on Stanford, specifically DeAnthony Thomas...I thought that was pretty inappropriate for them to be saying on-air. Brian Griese called Mizzou-Tennessee and consistently was talking trash on Mizzou's kicker. The dude is a college kicker who missed a kick, lay the f*** off. He was already getting killed by the awful mizzou fan contingent of which consists of 80% of student body. -
QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Nov 8, 2013 -> 01:16 PM) PPR league...need to play 2 RBs out of Ray Rice, Darren Sproles (return yards count), Ben Tate, Andre Ellington and Rashad Jennings. I have no idea who the best two are this week. Thoughts? I'd go Tate and Sproles. Ray Rice has destroyed my season.

QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Nov 8, 2013 -> 01:49 AM) I'm really hoping they don't re-sign Deng, he seems to be getting worse every year. Even Boozer looks better so far. I used to be fine with him, he seems to be eroding from passable #3 option to offensive liability. I think they're fine with Rose, Noah, Butler and a Gibson/Mirotic duo at PF (I'm not even assuming Mirotic is a star, just an Ersan Ilyasova type). They need to find a SG/SF that can efficiently score in the high-teens at a minimum. I don't know where that guy comes from though unless they get lucky with the Charlotte pick (and it might be 5 years before that guy really makes an impact) . They don't really have the cap space to sign a stud even without Deng and Boozer and Klay Thompson isn't going to fall into their lap. I'm not writing them off, but I'm a bit more worried than I was a month ago. Also, not having a 4th big with the injury history that Noah and Boozer have borders on a criminal transgression. Right but we knew that was coming. Therewas no money for one and even the bigs I thought could be available signed for way more. Funny seeing people advocate for trading for asik before the one year that would have killed us if we matched. I guess that contract proved it absolutely was moveable.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Nov 8, 2013 -> 01:44 PM) They ran 58 plays on offense for 312 yards...they fumbled the ball in the Stanford red zone twice, once on the five. That's not domination so much randomness. The lack of plays and possession time is more attributable to the Stanford offense than the Stanford defense. Adding to that - it was an away game against a top 5 team. I simultaneously feel bad and feel amused about this loss. When Oregon loses I do think they take it on the chin more than they should from the media. Part of that is Oregon's popularity with non-college football fans. I feel like way too often I hear, ya but that team couldn't hang with OREGON's offense. And truth is they probably could. So there is a backlash to bandwagon fans that don't even really watch much college football. But I feel bad, because I think Oregon gets more s*** when they can't pull off their undefeated seasons because they aren't an old guard team. You see that with Jessie Palmer's dumbass comments. Look at Oklahoma. That team has been so inflated last 3 years just because it's Oklahoma (and probably b/c recruiting rankings). They can lose a game to Baylor and it doesn't say much about them. If Baylor lost? Baylor can't hang with the big boys. Just annoying, but most of the CFB media came from the big programs. -
QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Nov 7, 2013 -> 06:50 PM) The biggest problem with the Bulls, and it's been a problem for a long time, is the team is full of jump shooters. Rose is the only guy that can create off the dribble. Neither Boozer or Noah are post players, the get their points on jump shots and put backs. So when the team can't make shots, they lose. And that problem is made worse when they get beat on the boards. I don't see how this problem rectifies itself. In the past they had guys like Korver, Rip and Nate that could stretch the floor and actually make baskets. Dunleavy isn't really the guy to do that. Not sure Rip qualifies since he never played. Nate is in Roses spot. Dunleavy absolutely should be hitting shots. He's replacing your Korver/Belli. Bulls need someone to be aggressive with passing beside Rose. our second best passer is Noah, and he's not in good position to help rose out. We just have a bunch of 15 ft jump shooters and not 3 point jump shooters.
