  1. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 3, 2014 -> 03:17 AM) Can somebody explain to me the horror that is Anthony Bennett? I mean wtf. This is worse than Kwame Brown, Olawacandi, etc. Kwame Brown and Olawacandi at least made way more sense. Also they don't care at your mocking since they made probably close to 60 mill between em.
  2. I just don't understand NFL cap rules.
  3. I think the part killing me right now is them saying "We want to re-sign Deng, but if someone comes at us with a player and a pick" and then I'm all like "so there's a chance!" even though I know it isn't going to happen, and we'll for some reason pay the repeater tax, end up with 16th overall pick, and re-sign Deng to an expensive deal, and will be watching the equivalent of the 09 pistons for the next few years.
  4. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 2, 2014 -> 09:35 PM) The median QB Rating over the last 3 years (15 teams worse, 15 better): 82.5. 83.1 would be good for the #14 team quarterback rating over the past 3 years. But of course the hardest thing for me was his average play (and high TOs) this year. Because that average was obviously skewed by a year or two with Devin Hester as your #1 receiver and the worst Oline. But this is an offense designed to get the ball out early and at a high accuracy, and I wasn't impressed with his numbers. They have to improve in year 2.
  5. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jan 2, 2014 -> 08:39 PM) McEvoy will have a shot at QB for Wisconsin next year. And the only reason Wisconsin couldnt run inside the 20 was because their OC kept calling play action every time they got into the 20 and thus they ran 1 out of 3 downs. It was a stupid game, thankfully it was basically a glorified scrimmage for Wisconsin (I think they were more concerned about getting Gordon/White the tandem rushing record), because otherwise that game would have really annoyed me. Ellington had to make 2 insane plays, Stave had to get hurt and even then SC barely hung on. Shaw hooking up with Ellington on "insane" plays is a given. If ever a QB and WR were on the same page... Shaw was so excellent, what a year. Exhibit A why I could never be an NFL Scout, I would have never guessed he wasn't the best 5 QBs to go up to the next level. Unreal decisionmaking and he's a tough SOB.
  6. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 2, 2014 -> 08:00 PM) Chris Kluwe discusses how he feels his activism led to him being fired http://deadspin.com/i-was-an-nfl-player-un...s-an-1493208214 Hilarious quote from the article: "He reiterated his fervent desire for me to cease speaking on the subject, stating that "a wise coach once told me there are two things you don't talk about in the NFL, politics and religion." - Leslie Frazier Oh yeah, NFL players definitely refrain from discussing religion.
  7. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 2, 2014 -> 06:35 PM) What? There's been fairly extensive discussion of the last-second Kuhn, drive-saving block put on Peppers. Like. A f***ton of conversation on it. Here and everywhere. Oh my goodness, I am so embarrassed to have missed some discussion on a message board! I should have spent more time during the holidays on your take on it!
  8. Lost in the Conte awfulness was the blitzer off the edge (not sure who it was) whiffed on Rodgers allowing him to get open for a few more seconds.
  9. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 2, 2014 -> 06:13 PM) Kevin Fishbain ‏@kfishbain 6m Trestman said Briggs checked to a blitz on 4th-and-8, Conte didn't get the call, he was in zone. Ugh.
  10. AJ McCarron is terrible.
  11. Really pleased we kept Slauson. Was secretly, against all odds and reason, hoping for Johnny Football.
  12. Love hired Jeff tedford as OC. Kind of shows me he still doesn't want to care about offense.
  13. I don't remember last Shaw incompletion.
  14. I've never seen so many drops on a crucial drive as Georgia had right there.
  15. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jan 1, 2014 -> 07:53 PM) Wisconsin is really leaving a lot of points on the field with some strange play calling. Wisconsins run blocking has been beautiful this game though.
  16. Connor Shaw was such a great college QBe. I wish I was able to watch him more.
  17. Damn I knew Murray was out but what happened to Gurley?
  18. QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Dec 31, 2013 -> 12:47 AM) Honestly, I have to wait a couple weeks for the emotional gag reflex I have towards our safeties wears off before I can actually decide what I really want out of the draft. Because right now priority #1 feels like get someone to take Conte's job. Dline is so expensive now, I would prefer we address the most expensive positions with the draft. I've given up on Bears drafting a good safety, as well. We've thrown how many picks at garbage players? When D Manning is a hall of famer compared to your current safeties...sigh.
  19. I wonder if Kony Ealy would be a fit for bears at 14. Athletic, great build and productive against the best OL we faced this season. Plus Mizzou has done a pretty damn good job with our DL in the NFL, not that that actually means much.
  20. I'm a big bostic hater, but you can't write off him and Greene yet. They need to get smarter and stronger.
  21. So First Year coaches and their win differential between last year Marc Trestman -2 Mike McCoy +1 Andy Reid +9 Bruce Arians +5 Gus Bradley +2 Chip Kelley+6 Doug Marrone - no change Rob Chudzinski -1* *Fired Posted without comment.
  22. Great, the "well if you were so great you'd be coaching!" argument. Always works.
  23. QUOTE (iamshack @ Dec 30, 2013 -> 03:14 AM) This year it doesn't really count. You have two shots to win one game and clinch, and you can't do it. We just weren't good enough his year. That definitely counts. Being just one loss worse means either you are unlucky or poorly coached. When it's three years in a row...
  24. QUOTE (chw42 @ Dec 30, 2013 -> 03:00 AM) What an awful year for Chicago teams not named the Blackhawks. This is year three of being one game away from playoffs. Just brutal.
  25. Welcome to the chicago cowboys era.
