this kind of confirms all of the things I've been nervous about for this game Saturday: http://www.rockmnation.com/2013/12/6/51811...ilm-room-auburn Franklin barely played in SEC play and is struggling with just the playful presnap reads Ds are giving him. When they blitz and we are 1 on 1...throw it UP to DGB. Mauk was only a 50% passer but he would make you pay for that stuff. -
Struggling deciding among Rice, R. Jennings and M. Wallace. Need 2 of 3.

QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Dec 6, 2013 -> 03:51 PM) Exactly. In this new pass first era, I'd have to think that almost all of the passing/recieving records are going to broken by somebody. Even 10-12 years ago, 4000 yards in a season was the bench mark of the top quarterbacks. Now that is pretty much the standard with the top QBs passing for closer to 5000 or more. All those passing yards have to go to somebody. Its just really hard to compare todays recievers of the past couple generations (Tim Brown, Cris Carter, Sterling Sharpe, etc.) Its really almost like apples and oranges. And even though he played in a prior generation, I would have loved to see the numbers that Sterling Sharpe would have ended up with had he been able to play with Favre in Favre's prime. Sharpe was an absolute beast. On the other hand, I feel like Johnson is one person who is comparable. He has been on a pretty traditional offense for years, essentially as their only passing threat. And he is always open.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Dec 6, 2013 -> 07:55 AM) So how good is Andre Johnson in terms of all time great WR's? I give him extra respect for having such crappy QBs his entire career. Even Fitz had some prime warner years (though Schaub obviously better than some of the crap Johnson had).

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Dec 6, 2013 -> 04:14 AM) Marshall Henderson is the best player ever to watch. He's so bad. I can't even enjoy him playing badly. It all just makes me annoyed. -

IT'S THE SEC'S FAULT !!!!! -
QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Dec 5, 2013 -> 06:42 PM) The last two losses make me think they actually do suck. Scoring 93 against Cleveland should be more than enough, and without Davis their frontcourt should destroy the Pelicans. If that keeps up, tanking could be viable, especially if they trade Deng. Well the thing about this being the teams last chance is this was by far their worst bench of last 3 years. This team will have 2 injuries at a time and they can't cover for that anymore.
-
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 5, 2013 -> 05:49 PM) Tonite will probably be a game where the Bulls inexplicably get off the mat and give the Heat a tough game I don't know, this team looks cooked with the d inexplicably bad.
-
QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Dec 5, 2013 -> 05:13 PM) Not what was said at all. The point was Rose/Snell/Deng/Boozer or Taj/Aldridge is arguably worse than the Blazers were last year with no additional cap space to add to it. Not worth it, the point is that J4L gets infinite content out of degrading the bulls top 10 big man on a great contract while overhyping and fellating any big man that has one good night or few weeks. Aldridge is a great player but for one there was no actual smoke there.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 4, 2013 -> 11:09 PM) I wonder if the Auburn AD will campaign for them. OSU still needs to beat MSU and thats a tall task. If they lose then I assume its Mizzou in the title game, although im POSITIVE the SEC braintrust will be pushing for Bama I think Mizzou, if somehow can beat Auburn and OSU lose to MSU, I doubt Alabama would be able to do anything. For one, the computers love missouri. For two, our loss was also crazy (clunking a 20 yard field goal). -
Did you see where they paid Frank 6 mill to be their bench coach?

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 4, 2013 -> 05:53 PM) Auburn is going to run the ball successfully, there is not much you can do there. You have to hope you can outscore them as their defense is suspect. It's not really about shutting down their run as it is preventing the quick 1-2 minute scoring drive. As we've switched up formations and looks we've gotten blown up guessing wrong a few times, which would be magnified with Auburn. I think we'll see a 4 man line all game this time, but even if we were to get a lead and try and move into pass coverage, the crazy thing with auburn is they can score as fast with a run. -

One thing that is terrifying me about this weekends game b/w Auburn and Mizzou is if Mizzou comes out with a 3 DL look, Auburn will go no huddle and pound the s*** out of them for a quick TD. We give a lot of different looks for whole drives, and can be susceptible to substitution on no huddles here. -
I just hope Karma is real.

So Kidd demoted Lawrence Frank. Brooklyn is doing well.

Last night proved that the NBA is right to keep a team from Seattle. It's a shame they provide such worthless, lifeless fans for their NFL and MLS teams while Charlotte has the turnout that they do for their NBA/NFL teams.
-
We'll see how he does when he blows out his knee at 24. That happens to all teams superstars right?
-
QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ Dec 3, 2013 -> 06:05 AM) Precisely, though I'd rather have seen Snell getting more time in the overtimes than Dunleavy. Quietly pleased at how bad we've proven to be.

Ole Miss was actually a pretty good football team this year. Had a brutal schedule. But, their basketball team ruined any good will. I hope they never win. -
Yup. And then the ref called a touchback and threw his hat down to signify change of possession. A real wtf moment.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 2, 2013 -> 09:49 PM) As bad as a coach as he is, it really is astonishing the climb that Lane Kiffin made at two seperate levels of football, using basically his daddies good name. The guy is a supreme snake oil salesman It seems that snake oil salesman can have a great career in college sports. -

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 2, 2013 -> 09:20 PM) But can anyone explain Nebraska going to the Big Ten and being average? Nebraska's been pretty much what nebraska has been for past decade. If you remove the Suh years, which I'm not sure why you would, it's been solid and uninspiring since Callahan started at least. -

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 2, 2013 -> 09:03 PM) Remember when Mizzou and TAMU joined the SEC and never had a chance? Didnt take long to prove that theory completely unjustified. Maybe the rest of the division is just "bad" like you say. I do think the SEC teams have made Mizzou better. I think our scheme is better. But I also think that this more proved to me that the recruiting rankings are ridiculous. Mizzou was playing Tennessee and had like 30 less 5 star players. We played injured florida who poor them, had to tap into their 5 deep 4 star players. Much like with Oklahoma/Texas, just being interested in a player tended to increase their star ranking. Made the rest of the big 12 look worse than it was. SEC recruiting rankings probably overly add to that. BUt I also think it just has a number of the best football schools and toughest stadiums. Every away game is terrifying minus vandy/kentucky (vandy for the stadium, they have a disciplined, good team).
