  1. I watched Curry and Thompson shoot the freakin lights out vs Nuggets.
  2. Ugh, was just about to leave for the game.
  3. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 23, 2013 -> 08:06 PM) F*ck Rose? Not yet. As for the team - yes, it's one of my favoritist teams in all the land in the playoffs going into Brooklyn and winning. Game 1 was a travesty, Game 2 made me proud. It's an incredibly awkward situation to see the key to the team being a legitimate championship contender jumping up and down and super-duper excited about other injured players giving their all on the court. I don't mean that rose can screw off, but I'm tired of the only thing we talk about being either pissing all over Rose or debating his comeback. He's not coming back this year. Meanwhile, the team that is playing is giving their all to bring home some playoff wins. There was a 8 minute stretch in the 3rd yesterday where Brooklyn couldn't get a shot off. We were swarming and jumping all over any drive and pushing them to the corners and baselines and then swatting them. It was vicious D. I appreciate that effort. And I appreciate the coaching changes, and execution by the team. We may not win this series, but as long as we don't lay down, I don't have a bad word to say about any of the players actually playing on that team right now.
  4. I don't really care about rose anymore. This team, despite all odds, has actually been entertaining this year (after Jan 1). Nazr Muhammed was giving great minutes in the f***ing playoffs. Joakim Noah, with two (basically) broken feet, is outhustling other teams big men (lopez rebounding not withstanding) all over the court. f*** rose man, team with no hope is at least giving us some fun s*** to watch. You aren't gonna win it every year. I know most here wish Bulls tanked this year, but they didn't. And they are here in the playoffs. Might as well enjoy them giving the other teams hell, and the other teams fans hell, as they scream "HOW THE HELL IS A TEAM WITH KIRK HINRICH AT THE POINT AND NAZR MUHAMMED AT CENTER BEATING US"
  5. I'm going to throw him out there since he had a great game : Boozer crushed the glass last night. I wonder what his rebound rate was b/c with my eyes it seemed like he was getting everything (despite the fact that brooklyn was constantly allowed to push our rebounders in the back and try and knock them out of bounds). Add that to his offensive performance, and it was a hell of a night for him.
  6. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 22, 2013 -> 01:58 PM) Rolando McClain arrested. Again. Good lord.
  7. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 19, 2013 -> 02:48 PM) Why do the headlines say "explosions" regarding last night? I see no evidence of any explosions. I guess they were throwing explosive devices at cops.
  8. Pretty not that excited for how this year is starting.

    I don't understand why you wouldn't go.
  10. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Apr 19, 2013 -> 02:07 PM) Ah my love affair for the press continues. Nothing like the reporters trying to get a scoop on the killers family. Oh Uncle of the dirtbag killers, "I am so sorry for your loss". Really thats the first thing you say. These are cold blooded killers who walked right past an 8 year old and placed a bomb near him that killed him and maimed innocents. They walked around that area and knew the makeup of the crowd. They still decided to carry this out. I am not sorry for your loss. I can't wait till we get your other nephew. Hopefully before he breathes his last breath we can extract some intel from him. Then we can send him to hell. http://www.buzzfeed.com/danoshinsky/boston...erve-to-exist-o Did we see the same interview? In this one the news anchor is basically asking the uncle to apologize for their nephews actions, and at that point it's pretty clear that the news person was letting them know their nephews had done it and that one of them was dead.
  11. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Apr 18, 2013 -> 08:11 PM) Part of me wants to see the Bulls win the NBA title this season just so Derrick feels like a fool for CHOOSING not to play. yeah, not happening.
  12. QUOTE (mr_genius @ Apr 18, 2013 -> 05:46 PM) legal bribes. it's ruining our government. But it's also that you have a hardcore minority that makes their voice heard and floods senators with feedback and SHOW UP TO VOTE vs. a huge majority that agrees with the bill, but probably not enough to matter when the election rolls around.
  13. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 18, 2013 -> 02:27 PM) SportsCenter ‏@SportsCenter 13m BREAKING: Doug Collins has resigned after three seasons as coach of the 76ers. He will remain with the team as a special consultant. It is so crazy how he cannot last past 3 seasons with a team. Season 2 they seem prime to takeoff, then season 3 they fall apart.
  14. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 18, 2013 -> 02:48 PM) I believe your response here is why the term "Person of interest" came into being in the first place. The media would report people being interviewed about any crime as "suspects" and it would damage their reputation, leaving the media liable for libel suits. The term "Person of Interest" then started appearing as a lump term for "anyone the police wants to interview, whether it's a suspect, relative of a suspect, witness, etc." so that people wouldn't be labeled as suspects linked to a crime unless they were actually suspected of having committed a crime. That's why I looked for whether the Post actually called them "Suspects" in this article rather than using a more generic term. For the Saudi man, they called him a suspect, which is a specific term where they're suggesting that he might have been the perpetrator. Saying that the police want to interview this man or this man is a "person of interest" is supposed to be the trick to get around that problem, because everyone in the marathon could be a legit person of interest at this point. As said in my original post, I don't think NYPost would actually be found for libel, but I do think if I was one of those 2 runners I would try to find some support to sue them. Libel cases cost quite a bit to the post even if you win. This was incredibly irresponsible, (can you imagine if someone tried to citizen arrest them and ended up injuring them?) and i think they deserve to be punished. Best way IMO is a frivolous law suit.
  15. just awful. It's really hard for me to put in perspective. I guess it would be similar to a tornado, but how do you begin to pick up the pieces in a small town when half the town is suddenly gone? And the main employer and public servants gone? Thoughts go out.
  16. They should sue for libel. They won't win but it will still punish ny post a lot of money.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Apr 17, 2013 -> 08:12 PM) I think a problem is the movies never really pushed across anything other than Superman vs Lex Luthor. IMO the best movie is 2, when he goes against Zod. Yes this is a good point. Though the best known, Lex Luther should not be the villain, because there's nothing the 'evil mastermind' could do that can't be solved with superman's incredible powers.
  18. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Apr 17, 2013 -> 08:51 PM) You missed the connection. Not about media control, its about big brother watching you. More cameras, more surveillance so that the govt can make sure you are safe from all the monsters in the world. Overreactions to terrible events lead to people willingly surrendering freedoms that took thousands of years to fight for. The price of freedom is blood. Who needs big brother to do that, when we have all willingly done this ourselves? I guarantee it won't have been surveilance cameras that will have caught this, but cellphone or tv cameras.
  19. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 17, 2013 -> 08:34 PM) How many times does a bomb threat end in a bomb actually being there? If you want to bomb someone, you dont call it in first. Well, I don't think anyone wants to be the first person to calling their bluff.
  20. Anyone know anything about that lineman bears signed yesterday? (talent wise)
  21. QUOTE (daa84 @ Apr 17, 2013 -> 08:03 PM) Wtf CNN saying they are evacuating Brigham and women's right now Ugh, this world.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Apr 17, 2013 -> 07:00 PM) Most of the western burbs along the BNSF will require a drive/park to take the train unless you can spend 6-700k+. Those homes within 5-10 minutes walks are obviously very desirable. I'm sure that's the case in all the suburbs though as a general rule. Another place to check out is Riverside. My buddy and his wife just got an awesome cap cod on a short sale there. Bought it for like $175k with comparables in the 3-400's. It needs a lot of work, but they'll make a nice chunk of change when they get it fixed up and sell it. Interesting, I've never heard of Riverside.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Apr 17, 2013 -> 06:43 PM) That is pretty much the script of every superhero movie. Come on now, TDKR, Bruce Wayne had his back broken, the new Iron Man he is going to lose everything. Thor lost his power and was cast onto earth. It is how those movies are. Yeah, but superman is a rough franchise since everything is solved by him throwing the problem into space. Oh no, he's weakened! Oh, he found the strength to overcome his weaknesses, and look, he's throwing bomb into space!
