  1. QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Mar 15, 2013 -> 04:43 AM) You know you have no life when you watch every Jermon Bushrod play vs San Fran and then also watch the first half of every J'Marcus Webb play vs SF in the same day..... Bushrod got double team, not chips, help From Nicks or Stithcomb on nearly half of the Saints passing plays. Webb got no such help at all in the first half. I won't say I think Webb is better (because I'm already burnt out on that argument over on talkbears) but Bushrod was put in a MUCH better situation to succeed in Nola while Webb was set up for failure. All I can say is I'm glad Kromer is coming with him and they will presumably continue to do much of the same. I think Bushrod would look awful in the Bears offense of previous years. I imagine Balta will give you a big bearhug for this.
  2. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 15, 2013 -> 02:47 AM) That overtime was everything that is great about hockey. Crud, I missed it.
  3. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 14, 2013 -> 06:13 PM) Just my way of remembering that I spent that whole series thinking "Man, if Rose was healthy and Bosh was out we'd have this". Right, but I think regardless, once Lebron went into that mode...He's not gonna be stoppable for at least 3 years.
  4. QUOTE (Rooftop Shots @ Mar 8, 2013 -> 01:58 PM) yeah was at that game laughed my head off. was a muggy day. Beckham hit a home run and the fireworks smoke LINGERED in the air. I remember telling my brother what a great time for a fly ball. and BANG DeAza hits a pop up that landed by the pitchers mound . NOBODY saw it anywhere because of all of the smoke and he got a double. Sometimes ya gotta love home field advantage. What a great basbeall moment. Will probaly never see that again. I was there too, and it was one of my favorite sox memories. They were actually lucky, it happened twice but the second time wasn't infield fly called? That was the best inning. It was crazy being there because the combo of smoke and lights, the cloud was really impenetrable to look through.
  5. QUOTE (ScottyDo @ Mar 14, 2013 -> 07:09 PM) God, I hope Phil Rogers starts posting here so we can have some threads about random trade (im)possibilities with no basis in reality. In fact.....is it possible that Phil Rogers already has a Soxtalk handle? Dewayne wise to yankees?
  6. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 14, 2013 -> 05:44 PM) Wasn't Bosh hurt for most of the Eastern Conference Finals? The Celtics pushed them to 7 games. So?
  7. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Mar 13, 2013 -> 10:34 PM) I didn't and don't really care who the pope is, but I'd imagine there's numerous LA cardinals who don't have that sort of baggage. Are you sure? Doesn't seem like a Cardinal without baggage exists.
  8. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Mar 14, 2013 -> 04:07 PM) Game 1 of the playoffs last year the Bulls looked amazing. Everything was coming together, D-Rose was finally back and dominating, it looked good. I'd say that was the best they'd looked since Game 1 of the ECF the year before when they handled the Heat, Taj dunked all over D-Wade, and I was certain the Bulls were headed to the Finals. We all know how that ended - they put LBJ on D-Rose and that was that. So even if Rose's ACL doesn't explode like the hospital in The Dark Knight last year they still weren't getting past LBJ. But if Rose's ACL didn't burst, perhaps the flapping butterfly's wings would have torn James' ACL. Championship=BULLS
  9. QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Mar 14, 2013 -> 03:02 PM) Not gonna pay to read a Phil Rogers article, but even without reading it I can tell you Phil Rogers is a moron. I agree with you, I read it for you, and it was awful. It's also loosely related to white sox, my palehose forum, brethren!
  10. Being a regular sports columnist is a hard job to get. And, frankly, it is a hard job to do. It's a wonder then, that Phil Rogers gets this soap box for articles like this: http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseb...,5227440.column What a lede! 11 players have worn 56 for the Cubs...could Buerhle be #12? I don't know! What is the significance of #56 on the cubs? What is the significance of the #12? WHY IS THE THOUGHT PROCESS OF BUEHRLE TO CUBS INTERESTING ENOUGH TO WRITE ABOUT. This ruined my whole day.
  11. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Mar 14, 2013 -> 03:46 AM) I don't. Not with the way LeBron played. I think people over think the heat being down 3-1, without grasping how unstoppable Lebron became game 5
  12. From earlier in thread: Sean Jensen ‏@seankjensen #Bears GM Phil Emery makes clear improving at TE and LT provides for greater flexibility to trade back from 20th pick and possibly get more.
  13. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Mar 13, 2013 -> 08:20 PM) Olympics and a Pope. not bad! and World Cup.
  14. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Mar 13, 2013 -> 07:14 PM) Bears have no 3rd round pick in 2013 draft, traded it in Marshall deal! Unless we trade down! Sean Jensen ‏@seankjensen #Bears GM Phil Emery makes clear improving at TE and LT provides for greater flexibility to trade back from 20th pick and possibly get more.
  15. banner decade for south america.
  16. Is it? Nobody seems to cut lamar odom slack, and at least he wasn't also running from illegal gambling accusations.
  17. QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Mar 13, 2013 -> 04:47 PM) Do you know Derrick personally? Because I know I don't. I've always heard he was a class act and family man and blah, blah, blah, but then he did have somebody take the SAT for him so he could get into Memphis. So honestly I really don't know what to think about his moral fiber. Bottom line is that I'm just getting sick and tired of this crap. He really needs to ass out there and play. He's to the point of no higher risk of re-injury and he says he has no limitations. What the hell is the problem? He's never going to have his confidence back until he actually gets out and plays. I think he's just afraid to fail and I don't like that. He's the biggest superstar in Chicago since Jordan, and if I were to ask myself would Jordan being playing by now if all circustances were the same, I know the answer would be yes. Jordan retired in his prime and denied bulls fans 2 years of play to figure his s*** out.
  18. I think you guys are underrating the idea that: Reggie has a very famous brother everyone wants to talk to, and gets all the attention. Suddenly Rose stops speaking with media. Desperate media starts banging on Reggies door. Reggie, enjoying the attention, starts spouting his mouth off. With Rose quiet, and Reggie starting a controversy, even more media are now pounding on Reggies door. Reggie is a household name. He's spouting b.s. cause he wants attention.
  19. I'm not a scout, I know nothing, but if we ended up with Barrett Jones, I would be happy. Versatile and possible C replacement, or potential guard.
  20. I'd really like to grab a C in the 2nd or 3rd round.
  21. QUOTE (Jake @ Mar 13, 2013 -> 03:21 AM) It's just the money. I think our line has to be better with him in it, but he becomes one of our highest paid players. The fact that Kromer is here seems to make it more likely that it is hubris than good scouting...but I like Emery and I don't expect him to really f*** things up. I'm willing to be wrong, but I'll say he wouldn't have been my target for that dollar amount. Frankly, signing a starting OT was going to make that position one of our highest paid (consistent across NFL). According to Jensen, move only cost us 3.1 against the cap this year. Not bad.
  22. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 13, 2013 -> 01:17 AM) @mortreport: From Eagles; also agree to terms with: CB Fletcher Bradley, S Patrick Chung, LB Jason Phillips and DL Isaac Sopoaga The more things change, the more they stay the same Haha
  23. QUOTE (Jake @ Mar 13, 2013 -> 12:48 AM) Looking at that overthecap website...how can we possibly afford these signings? Cap hit was $3 mill for bushrod
