  1. To be fair, norfolk st. was a tourney team last year. I know they lost a good player, but, no name in college basketball doesn't necessarily mean bad.
  2. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Dec 11, 2012 -> 06:24 AM) Jabari has a beautiful shot from outside. Jankovic is fascinating. A legit 6-11 guy with shooting and hops is so odd. Jankovic is incredibly inconsistent, but he's a high energy guy. None of our freshman play timid, Rosburg should, but even he isn't. I'm very excited to see Jankovic and Webster-Chan develop. All I know about Jabari is what he should have, I'm excited to see him play.
  3. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Dec 10, 2012 -> 09:17 PM) Again I'm not saying that the Bears are better than under Martz, I'm saying that they're no worse and that wishing for Martz to come back is baffling to me. I think they would be better. The only thing I thought would get better under tice was sacks. It hasn't gotten better. And if it hasn't gotten better than I'd have preferred continuity.
  4. Very impressed with U of I. As I said, terrified of the game vs. you. The very interesting thing about the Mizzou v. U of I game is the addition of Jabari brown. He will be added into the lineup 1 game prior to U of I. All fans are desperately hoping he proves to be the second ballhandler/outside shooter that we need. But the good news for U of I is our team is very tough defensively in the paint and 2 pt shots in general, but have shown to be horrendous on defensive rotations to defend the 3. Which is perfect for your team unless they are cold from behind the arc. Mizzou has a lot of sparks but only one consistent scorer thus far: Lawrence Bowers. I'm hoping for a consistent game from Flip and Bowers, and a big spark game from one of our freshman: Jankovoc or Webster-Chan.

I checked out It's a Wonderful Life at the Logan yesterday for a matinee. I thought I had seen that movie like 25 times, but it turns out I had never watched the first half. It's a lot funnier in the first half.
  6. do we know the trends of white sox attendance vs. league at large?

QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Dec 7, 2012 -> 07:02 PM) How else am I to respond to what wite said? I'm not ignoring anything, I hear you guys. Yes, I agree the route that should be taken is from the bottom to the top of the food business. I'm asking for too much right off the bat. This is just a "dream location" and thats why I even brought it up, and I truly believe I can be successful at this spot. This house I'm living in now is already willed to me, it's paid off, my family has been in it since the 30's, so how sweet would it be to run the business 5 seconds away? Pretty flippin sweet. Definitely, if you are passionate about it and think you are weighing the cons with the pros, go for it. But please before you take any action, go take a part time job at a restaurant you admire.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Dec 7, 2012 -> 05:44 PM) I've read food trucks are even more difficult to profit from than restaurants. Right, but if you fail you aren't in 400k worth of debt
  9. QUOTE (lostfan @ Dec 8, 2012 -> 07:00 PM) When people reflexively shout "both sides do it!" to everything it muddies the water, and actually excuses this kind of behavior from one side since we can't have an actual discussion about who really is the problem. While they both may be "to blame" this just by default says they are both 50-50 when it's more like 80-20 or even higher than that. What? We all know the healthy way to argue is to ignore the issue at hand and bring in every other grievance associated to gain leverage.
  10. @ dasox24, Rumor is former Vols OC Chaney is moving to MIzzou as OC. I certainly liked your offense more than ours, what would you think about that hire?
  11. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 8, 2012 -> 07:12 PM) The coaching carousel continues, Tommy Tuberville leaves TX Tech for Cincinnati. Aw that sucks for Texas Tech, terrible year to hunt for head coaches. I've always liked that program.
  12. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Dec 8, 2012 -> 04:28 AM) Joakim Noah putting up Dwight-like numbers better than Dwight because Dwight can only wish to get 6 assists along with 30 points and 23 rebounds woo boy! That's monstrous. I was laughing so hard when I saw KC Johnson tweet: First bull to hit 30 points and 20 rebounds since Marcus Fizer in 2004. Definitely wouldn't have guessed that
  13. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 7, 2012 -> 06:24 PM) you cant tell me you didnt expect that I was just hoping to get a few good games out of him this year. I got 2 "average" games. I can't believe an exclusive back with good hands has as few points as he has. But watching their games, they don't utilize him well at all anymore.
  14. Finally get a decent (not even good) game from mcfadden, and dude injures himself. I'm in the playoffs, so no guarantee i even move on, but very annoyed.
  15. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Dec 6, 2012 -> 07:03 PM) Couple of things, Are they rushing the punter or is this like a safety? If it is not like a safety are they kicking from the 30 or the 19? How do you fake it? I have to imagine it's rushing the punter, a safety punt is very similar to a kick off in terms of players going full speed at stationary players.
  16. $$$ I like how he implies he can better lead a conservative movement via a thinktank than as a leading Senator. Him and Evan Bayh should team up!
  17. Not gonna lie, I like it.
  18. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 6, 2012 -> 06:44 PM) I hated that f*** in his best years, so I knew I'd dislike slower, injured Kirk a lot more. You'd think he would be like "Okay, I'm older, have less speed if that's possible, and even less quickness, I should develop a deadly jump shot, and become a great 3 point shooter"... instead he's gotten WORSE at that as well.
  19. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Dec 6, 2012 -> 05:10 AM) Meh. Two people that need to start playing better are Noah and Deng. They're our all-stars and they need to play liek all-stars: consistently good. Noah seems to have found a better offensive game but it doesn't show up every night. Deng needs to step up but he's trying to do things he's never been that great at: dribbling, creating, going iso. Yesterday I thought his poor play cost us the game. He let Paul George go off and he caused many key turnovers. Today, while he played pretty well, he's still turning the ball over as much as he's assisting buckets. He's got to play better, a 15 PER (and I know some of you don't like PER) is just not good enough from a guy who is supposed to be our 2nd best player Same can be said for Boozer, but I've given up on Boozer. He's a goner soon any way. Re: Deng, not to dismiss his criticism, but he's playing with a few new players and he's handling the ball way more than he's used to. This is a recipe for turnovers. Especially when your point guard is awful.
  20. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Dec 5, 2012 -> 11:55 PM) There's a 0% we crush you. Honestly if I had to put money down today, I'd pick Mizzou to win by a few. Well, crushed is subjective. Games have been tight against Stanford and VCU, and we just have not dealt well with pressure at all. BUt also it's a perspective shift, because this time last year, we were beating teams by like 40-50 points.
  21. Mizzou vs. U of I will be quite the game, as it used to be (and was last year, great game). I think mizzou will get crushed. Our team I thought would get better at guarding the perimeter on 3s this year, but our rotations are just horrid. I'm anxious to see Jabari Brown's addition to the team, a lot landed on his shoulders with Mike Dixon's departure. We need a second ball-handler, a dynamic one. Keion Bell and Webster-Chan are just at best capable. Our turnovers are extreme and our 3 point shooting is gone. But there's so much there, it just needs to come together.
  22. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 5, 2012 -> 07:41 PM) I am fairly certain that I have yet to see Kirk Hinrich make an actual shot while I am watching. I know he has, but I have not seen one yet. I have, he tried to drive the lane, got stopped immediately, stumbled and whipped the ball by his hip to hit the front of the rim.
  23. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Dec 5, 2012 -> 08:21 PM) It makes me sad that the Bulls could have had OJ Mayo for the same price as Kirk Hinrich. Instead of having a 25 year old SG with upside who has played extremely well this year we signed a guy who was clearly declining and has been amongst the worst players in the NBA. Awesome. I decided to really watch, undistracted, last night. WOW was it terrible. edit: I can't even imagine the times when he was starting anymore, and why he was considered good. He just doesn't push our offense, and our offense needs a dynamic point guard.
  24. A douchey coach at Arkansas? That's unpossible
