Kim Jong Il Died
QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Dec 19, 2011 -> 06:04 PM) The popular guess is that the son does some sabre-rattling to show he is in command, sink a SK ship or something to try and show he da man and deserves respect! Yeah, I have many friends in SK at the moment and I'm worried about what might happen. For all the jokes and stuff, his death is pretty much as scary as his life. They are essentially a feudal system with a near perfect totalitarian-ruled country. That legacy aspect may cause some deeply non-sensical, and terrible, things to happen to retain that power.

It's pretty terrible by all accounts, unfortunately. They are so backwards, and so poor, and so far behind their neighbors, that the surrounding states can't really afford to take in huge swathes of their people. Geopolitically it's just an awful situation. They are a rogue state just getting by on a black market economy.

With the schedule we had coming up I thought 3-3 was very possible. It was. I had no idea how bad Hanie would be. He's so bad that he loses games for us, he's not unable, he's very stupid AND unable. But even with that, we very much could have beaten the chiefs and broncos and we didn't.

Hegone33 with another brilliant analysis. No, nobody in the nfl could ever beat the packers this year. They don't let down.

If we were debating Rips 2 for 10 v. Richardsons 4 for 25 deal I wouldn't be arguing. But we're talking about Jamal Crawford. A player who CAN hit 20 points but CAN ALSO hit 6 points on 3 for 17 shooting and not thing once (hey this is a bad shot i shouldn't take it), all the while just acting like he's playing defense by looking in circles with his arms spread out.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 15, 2011 -> 11:08 PM) Wrong again. I said you don't win with a superstar and "blah." Blah being a bunch of roleplayers for the most part. Kyle brought up Dallas. I countered with Kidd. He's much, much more than a roleplayer. If you don't agree, well, I don't care. He's not much more than a role player. His back is shot, he got up for the playoffs, and hit a miraculous # of 3 pointers. He also gets all the calls from the refs at this point in his career. For most of the season he was a corpse on puppet strings.

You are classifying Jason Kidd at 38 years old as a superstar and we're a joke?

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 15, 2011 -> 10:55 PM) No, I don't have any precise numbers in front of me. But I can say with confidence Richard Hamilton cannot guard D-Wade. At all. Wade hates guarding players that continually run off screens/run off the ball a lot on offense, it bleeds into his offensive game as well. It wears him out.

I was laughing at you acting like Rip is joining a team that's a significant defensive downgrade from that pistons team. I like rips length on D, I think he'd be fine in Thibs system. And more than that i like how he wears down his opponent on defense by running the equivalent of 5 miles every game.

So I'm doing my usual "skeptical about a move before it happens, but then once it happens i convince myself that it will work out and is awesome" moments re: Rip. I'm getting really excited. The more i think about it, the more I think the running around he does on offense will have a fantastic effect for our scoring. I still wish we had gotten ray allen the year previous more, but oh well.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Dec 15, 2011 -> 05:54 PM) As Kyle said, it was obviously for the money. There were slight differences, but I mean very slight. The biggest difference I noticed was the girl being a little more meth-y (the way all zombies are now in films) when she killed the guy in the underground walkway in the American version. I thought the way they did it in the original was scarier. But did it even make money? That's what I mean, more. They released it about a year apart in a very similar release to the original.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Dec 15, 2011 -> 03:23 AM) I only half paid attention to the American version, but how was it that much better? It was basically a shot-for-shot remake. I was always confused as to why they remade that in general. It had a pretty wide release in US. I loved Let the right one in, but I"m not going to watch it twice. I heard they did change some things in the US version however.
