  1. the OTL thing on this was nuts. Makes me wonder, with that phone call, how they could really sit on it.
  2. THey are the most basic, god awful offense in the world. Nobody needs help deciphering it.
  3. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Nov 23, 2011 -> 10:30 PM) No Denver is in KC division they can pick KO's brain and they feel they still have a chance to make the playoffs. So...YOU weren't surprised. But no, I doubt they were picking Orton's brain on a f***ing option offense. If KC can't figure that s*** out they deserve to be contracted.
  4. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Nov 23, 2011 -> 09:18 PM) No suprise KC claimed him. really? NO SURPRISE? None at all?
  5. Congrats haley, now your team can go 6-10. You f***.
  6. God i hope we murder, murder the chiefs with Haney. it was KC by the way.
  7. Shefter says a team before Chicago claimed him. DAMN IT
  8. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Nov 23, 2011 -> 09:40 PM) Man, my faith in English gets shot after being his lab partner in Geology a few times. Mizzou lives and dies with Denmon's shot. Denmon didn't shoot that well yesterday. And English has been an incredible ambassador for the school.
  9. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Nov 23, 2011 -> 08:10 PM) The Colts have to know that it is their best interest to suck as much as they possibly can this year. Make sure you get that first pick, and then you have options (draft a QB, or trade down) I was more laughing at the "But I'm not a Purdue fan. But we need a QB."
  10. Twitter is so great to read stupid people talk D_CRose17 Darin The Colts should try to get Kyle Orton. He's better that Curtis Painter. But i'm not a fan of Purdue. But we need a QB.
  11. QUOTE (zenryan @ Nov 23, 2011 -> 08:42 PM) Miami won a Big East regular season title and was on their way to better things before Hamilton left to go to the Wizards. Haith had a couple of decent seasons at Miami record wise. What got Miami fans not liking Haith was how bad he would be outcoached in any game that came down to the final few minutes. And he was absolutely dreadful at designing a play out of a timeout. I swear the guy couldnt figure out a way to beat the press his entire time at Miami. Just totally clueless. He may look better now that he is supervising more talent but I find it pretty impossible to believe he is now a good coach just because he moved. He has really good assistants at Mizzou. But also it helps to have a home court advantage of some sort.
  12. why would they sign clemmons and orton? WFAIL more like.
  13. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Nov 23, 2011 -> 08:04 PM) I've got a friend named Ron who was a QB in college. He won two fewer Heismans than people said he would, but he has a good arm and I think somebody should sign him. Ron Mexico?
  14. QUOTE (Nokona @ Nov 23, 2011 -> 08:16 PM) Sign Orton. Trade 7th round pick for Grossman. QB T Formation. Rec'd
  15. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 23, 2011 -> 05:41 PM) The 49ers & the Packers are the only teams with a better record. There are 7 teams with a 7-3 record, but the Bears have the hardest strength of schedule out of all those teams, which makes them the "best" and lowest in waiver order, so they are 30th. Gotcha, for some reason I thought it was ...nevermind i realize how stupid I was being.
  16. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Nov 23, 2011 -> 05:26 PM) i think the Bears pass on claiming him. whats the point in making a claim? It isnt as if SF and the Packers are goign to claim him. if the Bears dont claim him, the Broncos are on the hook for the 2.58 mil and the Bears pay the prorated minimum I think it's steelers and pack behind the bears, no? Maybe I'm wrong. This waiver wire is confusing.
  17. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 23, 2011 -> 05:17 PM) pilgrams? Haha, I assumed the puritans, too, would not have beer on them. I rec' the wordy shipmates highly for stuff on this. It was really funny and also pretty interesting.
  18. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Nov 23, 2011 -> 01:18 AM) Not I. And to be honest, they've had their run of quite a few years of unfettered spending on the draft. They all should have a quality farm moving forward by this point, so shut the f*** up and play those hands. Those tweets "know how this team has a great farm, that's now ILLEGAL" oh boo hoo. The system is changing. You know those examples of those awful teams picking bad players for signability? Probably will be less of those. Plus by discouraging high school players now, these worse teams can get talent closer to the MLB in the draft. Yes, these teams were finding good value in the OLD system, but was the OLD system perfect? I don't think so. Just because people say X is better than Y doesn't make it so. Spend money getting great draft evaluators...the new value.
  19. QUOTE (Tex @ Nov 23, 2011 -> 01:45 PM) Looking at how victims are treated when they report, the stigma that is still attached, the accusations that they must face, it is no wonder that victims and their parents will hesitate to report the crime. I really feel for these victims. http://www.thisamericanlife.org/radio-arch...5/slow-to-react i encourage everyone to listen to Act One from this particular this american life. It talks about the fear that he held after being raped that he too would become a child molester. Another blogger, blogged a heartwrenching piece before killing himself about how no matter what, he couldn't help but feel filthy every day waking up. It's hard to know how to react. Child molestation and rape is awful, but we also can't treat them as if their entire lives are ruined. Too often these kids feel forever damaged, forever ruined because of something that is not their fault. I hope there are victims of child molestation that have gotten help and become stronger that can come out and let these kids know that they can still live a great life.
  20. QUOTE (lostfan @ Nov 23, 2011 -> 01:52 AM) I'm totally in favor of bringing back Orton, as long as it's not immediately to start over Hanie. He has a bad rap as being a s***ty QB when he's not... it's just that Kyle Orton is the base model with no upgrades in every way. 4-cylinder, no AC, cloth seats, no power windows, no cruise control, none of that. He'll just get you to and from work, that's all. It's unreasonable to expect Orton to be able to learn even the basics of the offense in a week, in time to get him to start at Oakland... Hanie should be that guy unless he shows himself incapable, and that's where Orton comes in. We know at the very least that Kyle Orton is a capable NFL quarterback. He's not going to anyone's Pro Bowl, but he doesn't lose the team games either. I keep seeing this but I'm not seeing the people begging for him to start in oakland. The reality is Hanie is an unknown and Orton is a known. While Orton may not light up the scoreboard, it's possible hanie could lose us games. So I'm very much interested in getting Orton.
  21. QUOTE (danman31 @ Nov 23, 2011 -> 05:55 AM) Ha I was discussing this and I can't recall many good teams that lose by 30. Not sure how good Cal is, but hard to say Mizzou can play any better. They beat Nova at the Garden in 2 weeks and I'll start believing big. Even so, they had to have some talent if they were ranked 18, even if they don't put it together. I really wasn't going to get hyped up for Haith's first season, even though I was not as upset as some by his hiring. I think Miami is a black hole for bball. And I probably put too much in the loss of Bowers, and not enough in the incredible play we will get out of English, Denmon and P Pressey. Denmon's efficiency to go with English's leadership and pressey's great D right now are an group. I'm excited to catch a game. This team appears to be much more efficient on offense than with anderson.
  22. QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Nov 22, 2011 -> 11:50 PM) Im kind of surprised that so many people automatically think Orton>Hanie. We havent seen much of Hanie but we got a glimpse of a more than capable back up qb in the NFC championship. Orton had decent numbers in Denver but most of his stats came when they were getting crushed and the team as a whole had little success. He also had Brandon Marshall (for a while) and Brandon Lloyd making circus catches for him on passes that had no business being thrown. If the Bears get him to be Hanies backup or to step in IF Hanie fails then fine but if this move is in hopes that Orton is going to step in and play over Hanie after this week I hate it. I'm not sure anyone is automatically thinking Orton>Hanie. I think they are thinking Hanie is an unknown quantity, whereas orton is not. But no, I don't think anyone is expecting him to play this week.
  23. I find this bonkers that people are so concerned about the pirates royals and rangers. Honestly who cares.

    2011 Films Thread

I saw the descendants on Saturday. I'm going to give you a short little take: Really poorly put together beginning and a strong finish that leads me to say that I rec this movie. I liked it. I liked it even though i'm damn tired of all these hollywood movies about really rich people feeling isolated and having trouble relating to your kids. STOP WRITING WHAT YOU KNOW.
