  1. QUOTE (iamshack @ Nov 29, 2011 -> 12:12 AM) It was clearly a bad call with Hanie at qb...he's not accustomed to making reads on screen plays. If you noticed late in the game, right before that long td to Knox, he threw another screen to Forte where Matt got blasted about 1/4 of a second after Hanie threw it to him (and he threw it at him quite hard, I might add...it was a heck of a play for Matt just to catch the ball, let alone hang on to it). It's actually a very nice little play and one I was quite surprised the Raiders were ready for, especially with Hanie in there. But I agree, should have handed it off to Barber once or twice there, instead of trying to get all fancy. I don't buy that it even could work. you have a very short field, and you have a play that takes a long time to develop, and will still begin in the backfield. As soon as it begins the safeties and LBs at least know they don't have to stay back. It was 2nd and 1, our starting QB is out, this is when you say "hey, we have 2 really good RBs and a time out, lets get the first"
  2. I frankly don't need to. I don't care if Bogans is back, so it's hardly something I need to accept. I just find your assertion that you could count on anything from Tracy McGrady to be ridiculous. That said we have no idea how exactly this offseason period will shake out. But I am very much against the bulls making a gamble on mcgrady being healthy, let alone an upgrade on Bogans.
  3. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 28, 2011 -> 10:12 PM) The fact that he lasted 72 games last year and averaged >20 mpg suggests to me that if I asked him to play in 80% of the games and give me 15-20 minutes as part of a 4 guard rotation, he ought to be able to handle it barring a catastrophic injury. It shouldn't, and you just blatantly ignore the difficulties of the compressed schedule. So 2 out of the last 3 years he hasn't been able to finish 50% of his games, therefore you are willing to make the upgrade to your SG be a gamble that a 31 year old oft injured player with over 30,000 minutes played under his belt will get you 80% of the games in a compressed 66 game season schedule including many more back to back and back to back to back games, and get us...what like 6 ppg? It's a terrible sign. I would rather we bring back bogans than that.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Nov 23, 2011 -> 05:49 AM) That's why I liked "The Kids are Alright" so much, it felt like it could actually be a true story, rather than one of those Apatow versions or Bridesmaids, etc. I loved bridesmaids. Bridesmaids was one of the few movies that acknowledged that there are people in the world who aren't so comfortably rich that money has no impact in any moment in their lives. Movie about a journalist? They are a rich columnist with a 2 million dollar condo in manhattan. Movie about a chef? He's a rich chef with a beautiful house and garden. Everybody is a doctor, or wealthy, or millionaire. Any attempts to show poor people are usually "poor people are the salt of the earth with common people knowledge. Money sucks" stories. I related more to kristen wiigs character than any recent one in years.
  5. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 28, 2011 -> 11:00 PM) TMac isn't a guy you sign expecting 30 mpg, he's a guy you sign expecting 15-20 mpg along with a rotation of other guards. The Bulls actually have the rotation of other guards already...and that's actually one important point here. If the Bulls can't get a major upgrade at the position, a guy who commands 30+ mpg because you want him in the lineup, then they need to find a guy who fills some of their needs (shooting and ability to generate own shot) and compliments Brewer, Bogans, and Korver. I wasn't insinuating he'd play 30 minutes per night, even if he plays 18 minutes I"d worry about that 3 nights in a row so many times. He's old, old players have hard time being consistent because they get fatigued so easily. He's not a good pickup.
  6. I can't imagine how tmac will stay healthy with so many 3 games in 3 nights. I'd like to avoid taking flyers on oft injured vets for this year.
  7. What is it about 2nd and shorts in the red zone and Caleb Hanie as QB that causes mike martz to run the most assinine plays that have such a small chance at succeeding?
  8. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 28, 2011 -> 07:28 PM) Is the quality of the recording already released good enough that independent audio experts are likely going through it to see if they can be the one to announce it's a fraud? fwiw on ESPN last night before their report they said they had audio experts already independently verify it was the wife.
  9. the OTL thing on this was nuts. Makes me wonder, with that phone call, how they could really sit on it.
  10. THey are the most basic, god awful offense in the world. Nobody needs help deciphering it.
  11. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Nov 23, 2011 -> 10:30 PM) No Denver is in KC division they can pick KO's brain and they feel they still have a chance to make the playoffs. So...YOU weren't surprised. But no, I doubt they were picking Orton's brain on a f***ing option offense. If KC can't figure that s*** out they deserve to be contracted.
  12. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Nov 23, 2011 -> 09:18 PM) No suprise KC claimed him. really? NO SURPRISE? None at all?
  13. Congrats haley, now your team can go 6-10. You f***.
  14. God i hope we murder, murder the chiefs with Haney. it was KC by the way.
  15. Shefter says a team before Chicago claimed him. DAMN IT
  16. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Nov 23, 2011 -> 09:40 PM) Man, my faith in English gets shot after being his lab partner in Geology a few times. Mizzou lives and dies with Denmon's shot. Denmon didn't shoot that well yesterday. And English has been an incredible ambassador for the school.
  17. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Nov 23, 2011 -> 08:10 PM) The Colts have to know that it is their best interest to suck as much as they possibly can this year. Make sure you get that first pick, and then you have options (draft a QB, or trade down) I was more laughing at the "But I'm not a Purdue fan. But we need a QB."
  18. Twitter is so great to read stupid people talk D_CRose17 Darin The Colts should try to get Kyle Orton. He's better that Curtis Painter. But i'm not a fan of Purdue. But we need a QB.
  19. QUOTE (zenryan @ Nov 23, 2011 -> 08:42 PM) Miami won a Big East regular season title and was on their way to better things before Hamilton left to go to the Wizards. Haith had a couple of decent seasons at Miami record wise. What got Miami fans not liking Haith was how bad he would be outcoached in any game that came down to the final few minutes. And he was absolutely dreadful at designing a play out of a timeout. I swear the guy couldnt figure out a way to beat the press his entire time at Miami. Just totally clueless. He may look better now that he is supervising more talent but I find it pretty impossible to believe he is now a good coach just because he moved. He has really good assistants at Mizzou. But also it helps to have a home court advantage of some sort.
  20. why would they sign clemmons and orton? WFAIL more like.
  21. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Nov 23, 2011 -> 08:04 PM) I've got a friend named Ron who was a QB in college. He won two fewer Heismans than people said he would, but he has a good arm and I think somebody should sign him. Ron Mexico?
  22. QUOTE (Nokona @ Nov 23, 2011 -> 08:16 PM) Sign Orton. Trade 7th round pick for Grossman. QB T Formation. Rec'd
  23. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 23, 2011 -> 05:41 PM) The 49ers & the Packers are the only teams with a better record. There are 7 teams with a 7-3 record, but the Bears have the hardest strength of schedule out of all those teams, which makes them the "best" and lowest in waiver order, so they are 30th. Gotcha, for some reason I thought it was ...nevermind i realize how stupid I was being.
  24. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Nov 23, 2011 -> 05:26 PM) i think the Bears pass on claiming him. whats the point in making a claim? It isnt as if SF and the Packers are goign to claim him. if the Bears dont claim him, the Broncos are on the hook for the 2.58 mil and the Bears pay the prorated minimum I think it's steelers and pack behind the bears, no? Maybe I'm wrong. This waiver wire is confusing.
  25. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 23, 2011 -> 05:17 PM) pilgrams? Haha, I assumed the puritans, too, would not have beer on them. I rec' the wordy shipmates highly for stuff on this. It was really funny and also pretty interesting.
