  1. yeah, true, but also some insane bounces.
  2. i have a hard time calling a sixth round pick on anyone a waste.
  3. I've read your post 4 times and i have no idea what you are talking about. edit: to caulfield.
  4. QUOTE (CanOfCorn @ Apr 26, 2010 -> 08:40 PM) Oooohhhh...I see. So because players aren't getting on base, we aren't scoring runs... And I thought it was because they can't hit with RISP...at least that's what I've seen. Well, the thing is...if you have players on base a lot more, you have a lot more chances to get a hit with RISP. I mean, a good average with RISP would be .300, right? So 70% of the time you are failing. And if you have a lot less chances with a runner in scoring position, that 70% seems a lot worse. Kalapse had a great stat that almost seems obvious, but the teams that typically have the highest # of men LOB are usually good offenses in runs scored. It's all about creating a lot of chances in a game. Not executing 100% of the time, because in the MLB that isn't realistic. (or even 50% if that seems too hyperbolic)
  5. I have to say, any version of a last name of mcvey/vay/veigh just seems like bad news. If your last name is this please change it before the name grows octolimbs, piercing your brain and controlling your movements.
  6. NSS, i'm glad you're back. And I'm glad you are still fighting the good fight. I, on the other hand, don't have time for evenhandedness...black and white baby, and i'm Gandolf the white.
  7. obama might be a facist, we have no way of knowing.
  8. a few of our power hitters (oh my god i said OUR implying i'm on the team!) are hitting home runs. This is a good thing. Our contact hitters are not getting on base at all. This isn't an approach. Hitting home runs is a good thing. But hitting home runs on a team with a good OBP is a great thing.
  9. Konerko really bein nice this year.
  10. a pleasure to get a sweep, especially the way we did it.
  11. okay dudes, i'll say it. I turned off the tv after jenks gave up the double. I didn't want my buzz killed after the hawks game. Poor move.
  12. QUOTE (The Critic @ Apr 25, 2010 -> 01:27 PM) My wife and I screamed so loud at the Hossa game-winner that her Mom got scared and ran in the room to see what was wrong. that one i just kinda jumped and yelled, kane to tie it made me run back and forth high kneed yelling NOOOOOOOOO NOOOOO I CAN'T BELIEVE IT
  13. "That's not what the Constitution says," the Virginia Republican declared Wednesday (April 21), surrounded by other members of the Congressional Prayer Caucus. "That's what one unelected judge says the Constitution says." pray tell me, genius, what you are talking about.
  14. who cares, my only goal in life is to take their country away from them, hold it over them and slowly crush them and as they are screaming, begging, for me to stop, i'll look down at them and say "no."
  15. I've been so wrong about the draft for years, I don't really care anymore.
  16. A lot of NL teams have really good lineups even with the pitcher. Ours is like, deadball era.
  17. hawaii doesn't issue it anymore. And it's saved them lots of money, I believe. You'd think it would be something these mopes would approve of.
  18. it really is amazing. It seems like in the last minute of the past 3 games cleveland just does not miss a shot even if it's a ridiculous falling away three pointer.
  19. really frustrates me that they showed an entire bulls post game instead of going out to the hawks. f*** you CSN.
  20. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 23, 2010 -> 02:20 AM) When he was signed, it was like Mardi Gras on this board for some reason. He, like Kotsay, are fine to have on a team if they are getting 150 AB tops a season. When they are getting more than that, you're in trouble. I'll never again assume when the white sox sign a good bench player/non-starter he will do anything other than start. I learned my lesson.
  21. QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Apr 23, 2010 -> 03:14 AM) I'll never understand that sentiment. Sure you do.
  22. hilarious. I can't wait to see him fail.
