  1. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 7, 2009 -> 09:23 PM) You know, it's interesting, even if I think we've fallen too far out to make a serious run at the playoffs, it's still fun to watch your team win a game, or to see hope for the future from guys stepping up or making solid plays. Or Jake Peavy, whatever. That's the thing with this year. In 07, I really didn't' mind completely tanking. But now having a really s***ty September means that players important to our future (Beckham, Getz/Nix , Quentin, Rios, Alexei) are playing badly. In 07 we were so chocked full of awful it didn't matter. I didn't care if Andy Gonzalez/Erstad sucked.
  2. how great was it when hawk and stone were talking about Tom Hanks HOME RUN CARLOS!!!
  3. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 7, 2009 -> 05:07 PM) We're less than a week from their first game, and Eric Mangini still won't say whether his starting QB will be Brady Quinn or Derek Anderson. He says he's keeping it under wraps so that it will surprise the other team, but really, there's no way this is a good idea. Even his 2 QB's and the rest of his offense don't know who has the job. Mangenius!
  4. QUOTE (T R U @ Sep 7, 2009 -> 03:40 AM) I guess im the only one who thinks the Patriots are dumbasses for trading Seymour for a 2011 1st round pick. You pretty much are the only one I've seen say that. Every year the patriots have multiple firsts and second, and they are trading away a DE who is only under contract one more year and they wouldn't pay him anyway. And I'd be shocked if the raiders left the muck they are in by 2011.
  5. i'm gonna go dark horse and say sneed.
  6. QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 7, 2009 -> 04:48 PM) I have relatives who live in St. Louis and they say the same thing. I tell them they are crazy. Shannon is ok. He is the resident homer and can be funny at times. Rooney is gone cuz the Score didn't want to give him a pay raise. The Cardinals MADE room for Rooney by letting Ricky Horton go. Smart move by Cards. I love listening to Rooney and Shannon when I can. you know what, I think it's because the weird obsession cards fans have in general for all things st. louis. Shannon, the mizzou grad came up with the cardinals. But these people don't leave st. louis and can't comprehend anything other than their city, and can only converse about what private high school they went to and the cardinals. And to them, Rooney seemed like an outsider because he came from another team. People from St. Louis are really f***in weird.
  7. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 6, 2009 -> 09:59 AM) I've got nothing to say. Absolutely pathetic performance against a s***ty Missouri team (and when I say s***ty I mean this obviously isn't the same caliber team of the past couple years). Blaine Gabbert? Give me a f***ing break. I mean, I don't think we are going to be great, but to be fair, Blaine Gabbert was a five-star recruit and a major pull for Missouri. Even though he's a true sophomore, there's some expectations for him. The shocking thing is how you didn't destroy our awful defense.
  8. You know what's sad? None of my cardinal friend fans like him, like, at all. And they have this weird obsession with MIke Shannon, who I think sucks. Now, granted we have better taste, but why would it be that off?
  9. I hate that a team that hasn't been very good in my lifetime is forced down my throat year after year.
  10. what's the last game we can effectively start a 20 game win streak to completion? (no pwayoffs.)
  11. Remember when we were in the world series? That was fun.
  12. Give me a malbec and I'm happy.
  13. QUOTE (LosMediasBlancas @ Sep 5, 2009 -> 03:50 AM) Visiting or moving there? we'll see.
  14. you knew he wasn't a good football coach, he's just a hell of a recruiter.
  15. QUOTE (chw42 @ Sep 4, 2009 -> 11:33 PM) You're right, most of the guys that we did get to "improve" our offensive line are unknowns. I didn't know who Kevin Shaffer or Frank Omiyale were (turns out Shaffer is ranked as an 86 in Madden and Omiyale is a 77, so they can't be too bad). Somebody said that Browns fans said Shaffer sucked. I guess I'll have to take their word since it's so hard to judge offensive linemen based off statistics (since there really are none). However, Shaffer was a starter on the 06 Falcons, where they rushed for almost 3,000 yards. So you'd assume he's a decent run blocker. Orlando Pace is old, but then again, so were John Tait and Fred Miller last year. He'll hold up. I'm not too sure about Williams. He's inexperienced and I'm surprised that he will start. If anything, I think we increased the depth of our O-line. Chris Williams was not healthy last year, so there's one to add for depth. Omiyale replaces Fred Miller and Pace basically replaces Tait. Shaffer is brought in as a replacement for St. Clair. Overall, I think the line is improved. Even though there seems to be one or two question marks. There were a bunch of question marks last year as well and the line ended up alright. About the schedule thing, if you look at it, there's 7 teams on there that aren't very good. Can they turn better? Of course, the NFL is crazy like that. However, we have the Lions (twice), Seahawks, Bengals, Browns, Rams, and 49ers on the schedule. I mean the only team in there that might win more than 6 games is Seattle. The rest is absolute crap. It's not like we're playing a team on the border of being good or bad. These teams are all bad. the 49ers will probably win more than 6 games, I'd even say they might get in the playoffs, seeing the way the nfl works.
  16. When you keep the opponents to fewer than 2 runs, you usually win.
  17. we've also only given up 4 runs in the 3 wins and 0 so far today.
