  1. QUOTE (kapkomet @ Jul 7, 2008 -> 03:31 PM) RAH RAH RAH! IMPRESSIVE! WOOT! He's just messing with people's heads. Psychological stuff. WOOOHOOOO! Your post pretty much tells me what I need to know about Obama's substance, IMO. alright kap, we get it. After every athomeboy post you are going to make fun of him and say how it proves that Obama is a bad candidate.
  2. for real, we aren't talking about a varitek/AJ difference here. Any of these guys could make it and be pretty deserving
  3. QUOTE (Markbilliards @ Jul 7, 2008 -> 12:49 AM) I strongly disagree with all of you. Dye has been very good for us this year, but he does not deserve to get voted in over Longoria. The all star game is made so worthless by all the fan voting. Because the players who are more well liked (usually due to what team they're on) are the ones who become all stars, not the ones who deserve it per their performance on the year. Vote Longoria. If you vote a player in just because he plays for your team than you are just as bad as all those people who voted for the Boston/Yankee players like crazy. The all star game should be a matter of performance, not popularity. Now some could make an argument that Dye is more deserving than Longoria, if you really feel that way than vote for him. But considering that Evan started the year after Dye, and has played GG caliber defense, you gotta put him in there over JD. because we get snubbed, we snub them. I won't cry for the tampa bay fans. They probably won't notice anyways.

    THAT WAS AWESOME
  5. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jul 6, 2008 -> 11:03 PM) The Angels are leading the AL West, not the A's. The Angels got 3 guys in- Saunders, Rodriguez, and Santana. The Sox got 2 guys in- Crede and Q. The Rays got Kazmir and Navarro in. But, the Rays could get another guy (Longoria) or the Sox could get another guy (Dye). My mistake, heh. Point still remains somewhat.
  6. Wait...so the three AL first place teams make up how many all-stars? 2 for white sox, 1 for A's, 3? devil rays?
  7. well, I mean the cubs have the best record in baseball and aramis has had numerous big hits. He's an all star. Fukudome...eh.
  8. pheew, and we were worried we were gonna get swept in our home ball park. TAKE THAT A'S!!!! DANKS!!! 9 beers for you.
  9. it would be WISE to keep dewayne WISE slogans galore.
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 6, 2008 -> 07:51 PM) Anyone up in the pen? Dotel
  11. come on danks get outta this. BTW Dye's arm holds the runner there. ALL STAR ARM
  12. QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Jul 6, 2008 -> 08:44 PM) another thing to think about.... if AJ was in there catching, i sure wouldnt want to see him with a lower velocity guy pitching. especially when you have some of the best baserunners around out there. AJ would just s***-talk them until their self-esteem is so low they can barely walk.
  13. QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Jul 6, 2008 -> 08:32 PM) yea Navarro's on the team, and that's the thing. AJ's probably not going to get an at-bat if he's on the team. So, if there's some Papelbon pitch that is routinely in the dirt in a certain situation, maybe Varitek knows that, can block it, and contribute to a save. It's a little thing, but it's probably bigger for our wants and needs regarding the World Series home field. The thing is, the All-Star game isnt all about who's deserving or not. Like it or not, it's now about getting a best fit for winning the game. If AJ isnt going to bat, get someone in there who will contribute. Devil's advocacy sure is fun! you aren't convincing me. AJ's handled some pretty sick pitchers in his career, I think he can handle Jonathen the AMAZING
  14. further proving my point I suppose, and I thought this was McCain's quip back
  15. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Jul 6, 2008 -> 08:35 PM) Since gameday makes it look like a ho-hum flyball to left field, can you enlighten me on what happened? it wasn't the most beautiful catch, but he jumped up at the wall and took down a near HR.
  16. QUOTE (Jim Spencer @ Jul 6, 2008 -> 08:30 PM) JD is up against Giambi, Jose Guillen, Longoria, and Roberts. It was sure hard not voting for Giambi I also voted for Aaron Rowand over Carlos Lee me too!! haha. If the rest of the country is voting like idiots, then so is B. Mags
  17. I've been voting this entire time.
  18. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 6, 2008 -> 08:28 PM) I care about A.J. making it, yes. But, the fact that a .220 hitter going to an ASG is inexcusable. At least take Dioner Navarro. TBH, I think Navarro's been a better player than A.J. But Varitek is absolutely ridiculous. well, navarro is going too.
  19. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Jul 6, 2008 -> 07:25 PM) I would imagine it could be difficult when your partner is gone for 3 innings a game. Are the Sox wearing different caps today? I was being serious, I love DJ.
