QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ May 16, 2006 -> 07:41 PM) Yep, you know me, radio, MTV and Coverdale are some of my favorite things in life. i'm not sure why you took it like that, but whatever... QUOTE(The Critic @ May 16, 2006 -> 07:26 PM) I'd take a myriad of Ronnie James Dios... Actually, no I wouldn't. Some of my favorite singers can't "sing" - John Lydon, Doc Neeson, Lemmy, James Hetfield ( drunken growling James, not dried-up, dried-out, post-therapy crooning James ). Some could sing okay, but not great singers ( Phil Lynott, Bob Geldof, Paul Westerberg ). Some are really good, I think ( Geoff Tate, Dio, Rob Halford ). It's all about style and how the voice fits the music for me. i agree, i know jeff mangum is horrible at singing but i love it, and i know Jeff Buckley is amazing at singing and i love it. Ian Curtis just halfway sang baritone and it sounded so cool

QUOTE(mr_genius @ May 16, 2006 -> 06:49 PM) i heard one of the new songs on the radio it was total crap but i'm not really a Pearl Jam fan in the first place the single was the worst song on the album...i think its their best album since Yield but that said i'm tired of pearl jams sound. It sounds old. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ May 16, 2006 -> 06:45 PM) I bet you forgot the green, but that's a perfect example. Dylan the songwriter, good, Dylan the singer, not so much...... and like I said we are the complete opposite on this. but he had a unique voice, if radio was myriad David Coverdales i'm sure you'd change your tune.

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ May 16, 2006 -> 06:00 PM) I'm the total opposite. Sound great first and if you have something to say, it's a bonus. If you have something to say, but can't sing worth a damn, go write poetry or a book. Leave the singing to singers. yeah, what the f*** was bob dylan thinking

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 11, 2006 -> 06:55 PM) The whole reason that the remodel of Soldier Field had such a low capacity was to try to keep the historical standing of it... now that it is gone, why not just expand it to 80K+ God knows they could sell the tickets for the Bears anyway. great point!

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ May 16, 2006 -> 02:11 PM) Who cares about lyrics, most rock bands don't have s*** to say anyway. That doesn't take away from his singing ability. I care about lyrics. There are loads of great songwriters, a band with terrible songwriting can completely take me out of their music. i.e. coldplay, muse. QUOTE(Rex Kickass @ May 16, 2006 -> 01:39 PM) My official Summer 2006 song is Junior Senior - Happy Rap from the domestically unreleased brilliant album Hey Hey My My Yo Yo right on, the bass from "We R the Handclaps" is so brilliant. So many fun songs on there.

QUOTE(Capn12 @ May 16, 2006 -> 06:42 AM) Yes because telling all of us how corrupt the US Govt and structure is, more than 5 times, is a surefire sign of musical ambition and talent. i'd rather hear lyrics about that then cornells b****ing and whining that is done a lot better by more quality song writers than himself.

QUOTE(DePloderer @ May 15, 2006 -> 06:09 PM) You must be a glutton for punishment. I think Mark is way past his prime, they were great in the early 80's around the time of Grotesque and Hex Enduction Hour but they're a bit long in the tooth nowadays. Fall Heads roll wasn't bad at all, late nineties were horribly rouhg....but the 00's haven't been bad. Plus infotainment scandal was relaly good... I want to see MES before its all over...and i liked fall heads roll so i think this tour will be fun. Despite the rest of the band leaving it'll still be a sight to see MES.

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ May 15, 2006 -> 02:11 PM) "Yeah, man, f*** those Icelandic freaks who don't play formulaic rock and roll that's been beat into the ground for the past decade." Yep, that's exactly what I meant. A lot of people have that opinion about him, big deal, he's a critic. It doesn't mean he's always wrong. People will love him when they agree with him and call him a moron when they don't. well, it certainly came across that way. >how come people don't talk this way about Greg Kott then. They both work together on Sound Opinions, yet people's opinions of kott are usually they think he's great or a far more gentler dislike. The reason being Kotts write ups are far more thoughtful and less reactionary then Derogatis...and he has a greater ability to write about more genres then Jim D. is anyone gonna try and see The Fall 5/30

The DaVinci Code
QUOTE(WilliamTell @ May 15, 2006 -> 04:15 AM) I hate to be lazy about this, but I'm probably going to watch the movie before I start reading the book. It's too like to get it done in time for me anyways. Plus I really want to see the movie. honestly, imo, if you see the movie and its good, don't read the book. Dan Brown is a terrible writer.

QUOTE(GoRowand33 @ May 15, 2006 -> 03:53 AM) of the new songs I think arpeggi and nude are the best, while bodysnatchers is sounding great to me 15 step sounds a little sloppy at the beginning, then it really picks up the first bootlegs of 15 step...especially the first show...i was laughing at how bad it was...but then the next few really impressed me. I agree, i thought the orchestral arpeggi was a little cheesy, but the full band with the drums is really great. And big ideas has always been a fav. of mine. Bodysnatchers i'm iffy on.

QUOTE(Pauly8509CWS @ May 15, 2006 -> 03:27 AM) I can deal with them, but I don't see the fascination. It's mind boggling that some people call them music geniuses. considering OK Computer and their completion of the most successful merger of electronic and pop with Kid A i don't think its mind boggling at all.How many good radiohead covers do you hear? Vazquez tipping his pitches....
QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 14, 2006 -> 05:20 PM) I think it's pretty damn obvious what Javier's problem was yesterday, WIDGER. That f***er just brings out the worst in Vazquez, I know what you're going to say Widger did not catch Javy yesterday that was Pierz!!11 Think about it though Ozzie gets tossed and suddenly Javier gets lit up, coincidence? I think not. I believe Pierz was getting his pitches called from the dugout and once Ozzie got tossed Widger took over the pitch calling. Hence the suckassness displayed by vazquez alst night. Kill Widger. hahahahahaha
