  1. QUOTE(Sox Hustler @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 04:28 AM) Joe Buck and Tim McCarver are freaking douchebags. I f***ing hate both of them. They fail to mention that in the event that the sox do get a break that they take advantage of it. f*** YOU GUYS. That umpire started squeezing Jenks at the wrong time but did they mention how that lead to the 2 run game tying double?? NO! Forget them, and Reynolds, they don't know s***. i'm glad i wasn't the only one who thought jenks got the squeeze, that strike zone looked small as hell after that second at bat
  2. QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 05:45 AM) Just started reliving the game on my DVR and this struck me Tim McCarver said this about the bearded Astros: "They look like a bunch of Shakespearian Actors..." WHAT THE f*** DOES THAT MEAN?!? :banghead I'm an actor...I've done Shakespeare WHAT THE f*** DOES THAT MEAN?!? :banghead You can always count on Timmy hahaha
  3. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 06:30 AM) Silvy and Carmen are even better then M,J, and H imo. But besides that I think it's all crap as well. yeah...plus i loved carmen defalco doing the games in spring training...i found him very sharp and very prepared. I think he has a future there. I found buck to be the only one complaining, espn didn't dwell on it, they did mention it as they should've but those types of calls are blown all the time, i mean when i happend there was no doubt in my mind he was hit, until they slowed it down and went FRAME BY FRAME on a play that lasted .3 seconds did i realise the error.

    QUOTE(The Critic @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 06:14 AM) Sounded like Rooney was genuinely surprised that Scott's ball left the yard. Then he freaked out a little. That was so cool. I too am REALLY going to miss John. YOU WEREN"T?!?!? haha, my friend called me for play by play, and i was still super pissed about the blown lead, and in monotone voice "alright, one out, 2-1 count, lidge pitching, and pods hits a hit to center...HOLY s*** SOX WIN?!!??!" and i hung up the phone and ran in the hallway and just jumped on everyone i saw
  5. that was absolutely hands downt he greatest game i've ever seen as a sox fan, maybe as a bseballe fan HOLY s*** my only regret is i'm not still in chicago watching it with my brother

  10. QUOTE(SouthSideScraper @ Oct 19, 2005 -> 08:55 AM) Now for all of the Paulie haters on this site. For the record, I have not posted on this site for months as a result of some of the opinions expressed here. Not that anyone isn't entitled to their own opinion, but some of them are just plain stupid. Of course there are more good than bad but I digress. I'm sure I'll get the inevitable smartass reply that I should not post again. Expected and tasteless. I have been preaching Paulie since I joined this site and there have been supporters and many a nay-sayer. Well nay-sayers, kiss Paulie's slow moving, home run hitting, league envied ass! Big teams want him and will pay big to get him. Here's where Paulie's loyalty comes into play. And as the article said, you pointed out all of his negativities and short-comings out but now probably don't. When it comes time to re-sign or have him leave the nay-sayers will be at it again. Instead of praising him you burn him down. I can't wait to see those stat monkey's posting his OPS compared to other 1st basemen and their current salaries. A player is worth more than his stats. It's what he accomplishes for his team. In this case, leading them to a series. He deserves a big contract and more time with the Sox. More he deserves respect. He wants to stay so let him. He's done a ton for this team.....Many of you were against me wanting to wrap him up. It's all on Frank Thomas and Magglio you said. I laugh. how righteous...congrats!
  11. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 08:14 PM) What building is that? i laughed so hard at that

    QUOTE(juddling @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 05:11 PM) I did the same thing, got onto the site actually right away, said 4 for best available for game 2 and clicked to verify within 20 seconds, and after 4 minutes of it searching, it said, 'sorry, no tickets available'. it hurts too doesn't it...if i didn't have this laptop...if i had my ole piece of s*** comp i woulda thrown it out the window....(we can throw trash out our window and it lands right in the dumpster its sweet.)
  13. QUOTE(Greg Hibbard @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 05:08 PM) there's really no way at this point, is there all because I can't see a f***ing word if you press "can't see the word" it'll take you to a page that has a link that bypasses it...well it did for me... god dammit i was soooooooo excited...i got out of philosophy just in time too...sumb****

    QUOTE(BobDylan @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 05:05 PM) Yea, every phone by order is busy. i timed it so well though, i have an atomic clock haha... oh well, it seemed too good to be true, the trip back home i made back in september coincided with our first home world series game since 59...insane...its time i asked my dad for an early christmas present... damn you brokers!
  15. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 05:05 PM) I was trying to get through for my dad...actually got through with 2 tickets for Game 2, but they were in the far corner of the upper deck and that's the 1 place he said he didn't want them, so I released mine back into the pool. Man I wish I was in that city...I'd have taken those seats so fast.... WHAT!!

  18. QUOTE(Steff @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 09:32 PM) Season ticket holder - or bought tickets from a broker who bought from a season ticket holder. Anything you buy right now - that can be delivered today - is from a season ticket holder. :headshake right right right...thanks
  19. so how does that one cat already have tickets?
  20. QUOTE(SHAFTR @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 09:21 PM) I spent a season around sportswriters in a Big College Sports town, and I have spent a lot of time reading and watching sports journalism. All I have to say is that most sports journalists are awful. i would say its most sports COLUMNISTS are aweful, many of the people who just cover the games are rather good at what they do.
  21. to be honest...i thought in 2000 we were set to own the division, but its clear that this team is far far different. In 2000, it turns out nearly everyone had a career year...i can't think of any offensive player (perhaps gooch and AJ, though we knew he'd hit more HR in the cell) that would be considered having a career year. Which leads me to think, what if someone on the team, hell, a couple, have career years next year? On pitching, Garland, Politte, and Cotts all had the best years of their lives, but its been building to this for a while. Politte the suprise. Add that to the fact that viz and marte struggled, if they improve...damn...it'll be a race next year but damn do i feel good to be a white sox fan right now... now lets sign paulie...REWARD YOUR OWN ... yeah this is fun.
  22. i wish i was in chitown

  25. QUOTE(toasty @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 05:37 AM) what? i missed it? crap wanted to see him some of the questions were stupid, more asking about missed calls...so sick of that being the theme of the series...
