A good way to get a manager to like you is learning how to play 6 positions. Not his fault that is needed so often.

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX SWEEP OF THE DH BACK TO .500
bmags replied to chitownsportsfan's topic in Pale Hose Talk
how late into the season last year was the campaign to move abreu out of the 3 spot? had to be just about now when he started to turn things around, and presumably in 85 degree vs 50 degree weather. -
was able to ricky williams a draft for Justin Fields at 4 and ended up with Fields, Walker Little in round 3 and Shaka Toney in my 5 round mock, would have 2 more sixths to go for a WR project.

It’s a very statistically unlikely position for them to get.
-
Dickerson could be a stud, and versatile across oline.
-
Sox hitters vs. cleveland pitchers remind me of this: The sox are bart.
-
Come on boys, you cannot walk away from 3 starting pitching performances like this with just 1 win.

I still think yoan is going to turn the corner soon. The bieber game was ugly, but he's crushed at least one pitch in every game recently. https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/savant-player/yoan-moncada-660162?stats=gamelogs-r-hitting-statcast&season=2021

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER CARLOS RODON NO HITTER EDITION!!!!!
bmags replied to Ducksnort's topic in Pale Hose Talk
It was a bad call but I do think it's harder than it looks on screen when that slider starts so far outside and comes so far inside, may very well looks like it comes across the from edge of plate. Let's not forget how often Chris sale got hitters to swing at sliders that would hit them in the legs. What drives me nuts are straight fastballs that stay outside the entire time that an umpire gets wrong. Just insane. -
I don't really see a need to apologize. Carlos was frustrating more than others because he had a world of talent, which even aside from injuries, he wasn't putting together. Underperforming players, like Avi, are super frustrating. But as with both, it's good to remember that it can all come together on a whim. The posters who I think were the smartest were ones who had the perspective that if a guy like carlos was from another team and DFA'd, he'd have been on all of our lists for a bounce back. But I was too jaded from the rodon experience to date. But there's no mystery as to how a pitcher like Rodon could succeed, the mystery was how he was so freakin bad. Man, was anyone else at that sox-yankees game in 2015. I think it was the first game back after not trading Samardjiza or really any moves, but 2nd half of july the sox bats were on fire (yolmer was like a power hitter for 2 weeks), and we had an important homestand vs. the yankees to try to fight our way back, with Rodon on the mound. It was like 12-0 yankees after 2 innings, and that was like 2 hours into the game. We just went to the bar as watching a bunch of sox players walk yankees before a home run was boring as hell. ah, yeah, not as bad as I thought. I forgot LaRoche pitched: https://www.southsidesox.com/2015/7/31/9083337/yankees-13-white-sox-6-adam-laroche-pitched

some people think it doesn't matter who starts the game threads and that the soxtalk tradition is childish. Those people are idiots. @BigHurt3515 threads increased odds of wins through the roof.

I would give this a read, interesting stuff to read from Biggs. He's usually more in the ice bucket mode:

I still would make the trade, having lottery protections is what matters to me. This draft is great at the top, but it's not like that 2017/2018 draft where it is super deep. This may very well be a 2003-esque draft, but it really hasn't ever seemed to be as dominant as that one ever. I'm a bit blown away how lethargic and bad this has been. Ultimately, this is on Donovan to get into shape. Even with their cap and assets, there are ways to shore this up. But williams needs to level up big time, the wing and guard play is just not good enough, especially with the lack of interior defense post trade. Time to man-up for the bulls, they have enough to string games together. They just need to do it.

I am probably just high on life but I think this will be meaningful for Collins. -

Yeah these were all dominant games. Not AJ Burnett no hitters. -

It’s really nuts. Humbers was still really dumb but the rest are classics. Especially buerhles first Nono being 27 outs. -
This post and a really good @Dick Allen post that I guess wasn’t in this thread were when I stopped bitching about this move. I was a scorned fan with Rodon, was there for his first game out of bullpen and many truly abysmal starts by him. But it was so frustrating because he was a lefty with a devastating slider throwing high 90s. It never made sense why it didn’t work, now it does.

I have bad news
-
I fucking LOVED Leury celebrating behind Moncada. That was the best
-
Not as special as throwing it, but he was great back there. Dudes a catcher as much as like ducking Wellington castillo
-
Collins catching a no hitter is pretty damn special man
-
Well he’s earning this. Get this boy

Get this fuxker

Lol “or in the neighborhood”
