I enjoyed the wgn pre and post. I found McKnight kinda sincere but boring

I didn't say they needed 5 years to make the playoffs, I said we are looking at another 5 years because of what they are going to do this offseason and situation they are in.
-
but the bears aren't tearing everything down. And we just watched a team go without playoffs for 7 years. So I disagree.

In 2016 and 2017 Omar Narvaez had a 13% walk rate with a .069 (nice) iso. Narvaez eventually developed power but he was extremely weird doing that but it's what madrigal will need to figure out.

one of those things where had a relief package passed in october this would have already been readied. But I still think Illinois/locales could have stood this up faster anyway. We all knew in october a vaccine was close, mass vaccination plans should have been underway. It's like they just started when they heard they were getting vaccine.

just read up on bears cap situation. When they presumably try to press forward borrowing the future to save their butts, we are looking at another 4-5 years before we get back to the playoffs.

Absolutely. Whatever your thoughts on nick, I think it's worth remembering that some of the people most critical started voicing this stuff when he was in the minors. There was stuff that the bullish scouting reports said would translate that didn't right away. OTOH he was moved very aggressively and his best tool has been resilient. But for me some of the all-around stuff I expected has been missing at each level. At this point the number one thing I'd like isn't even power which I've given up on it's him being able to recreate his 9% walk rate in AAA. If he pairs up his hit tool with better selectivity its possible it ends up in some more power, we'll see.

I think the issue I have over the chicago mustard in-joke thing is it really should be clarified that we are talking about vienna beef dogs. If you are having some oscar mayer pork dog, toss schlock whatever you can find to not taste it. A good dog is when I lived in brazil, the hot dog itself was gross but they put like potato salad and crunchy fried potatoes and a bunch of other weird stuff on it. It was good because potato salad is good and so is crunchy fried stuff.

natural evolution upon moving to st louis area.

this right here.

I think the trauma of having to snap the necks of 100 mini horses should be considered.

Yeah I think it's fine to say its 3/18 AAV. With someone like Eatons deal we saw people say it was 1/8 even though it is 1 for 7 with a 2 year option and a $1 mill buyout. Its decently straightforward that they have 3 guaranteed years of roster control while a total of 50whatever million for those three years owed.

lt's been a month of vaccines and I am extremely underwhelmed by the data provided. I would hope the state and local governments have some idea of their capacity to give out vaccines on a daily basis, along with the % of its capacity it had used. If our actual supply is yet to be a problem, it would be good to know when they have introduced new locations capable of vaccinating more, and how much they have been dosing vs. what they are capable of dosing. Because % administered is noisy and not at all helpful. All we can do is look at trends, but no idea when jumps are possible.

I will always have a deep desire to get the players on my team who destroyed the Sox over and over in front of me. I still wanted Salazar even when it was clear his arm was held together by twine. Its hard not to want Kluber.
-
But it also had Ibaka. But it wasn’t just the harden iteration. KDs last year that was probably a title team in most years
-
Eh. Listen the owner stuff blew up. But this team had run its course and harden was becoming a problem. Harden was the one who demanded the Russ trade. Then this summer blows up and harden starts grumbling and then Russ demands a trade. Houston certainly got the worst end of Westbrook overall, but I'd rather be them with Wall than Washington with Westbrook right now. The new owner clearly sucks and the band breaking up so fast is a part of that. But there was going to be an end here, and now they have a team of some interesting and productive players, a good coach, a bunch of picks. It should have turned out way, way worse for them with Russ and Harden in the summer. This was a decent way out. At least Wall is playing right now, and he'll likely look better without harden.

Man I actually think this really helps Pacers too. Oladipo was better this year when I saw them but that has become Brogdon and Sabonis' team. Lavert I probably like more than he is worth but he gets you a lot of the same production there and he has 2 more years control after this. The east is getting smarter and more loaded.

also I guess we are 22 so i was wrong.

Cleveland's defense is just ridiculous now with Allen, and it was already ridiculous.
-
all timer
-
Well yes, most of the time, but we did just have Toronto happen. And Boston with Kyrie is sort of an example but not really. I would say it's more of a good thing that now stars are moving and you can say teams are getting closer to fair return. Not like the Chris Paul trade way back when.
-
Next year dried up but who saw Harden as likely to move this time last year? NBA man.
-
I think you guys are being silly. Dom Smith has been better than Alonso, and he was incredible last year. But it's not serious about Alonso should be demoted, it's just pointing out the mets roster crunch + mlb's foot dragging in getting team's roster certainty for a season that starts in a month. Something's gotta give. The Mets at this point know they can't re-do last season with Nimmo in center, but they have a surplus of very good corner offensive corner OF/1b types.
-
Rockets have a ton of assets now, Christian Wood looks great, Oladipo can either be signed on or give them space next year. They are probably just as likely as OKC/NOP to get the next star. Bulls are not.
-
I definitely thought they would win a title. It's unreal to me they never did, but they probably would have if not for one of the best teams ever.
