  1. ooohhohohoho my god kannapolis is going to be the 71 orioles with that rotation
  2. I really hope he is both a) stateside this summer b) the arizona summer league exists and we get reports on him.
  3. Ok so I found it on my phone. It's uh, literally referring to the left bicep injury that he already came back from for the oakland series and threw 2 scoreless innings. But in case anyone was worried that the injury he already came back from would cause him to miss the start of spring training, they can rest easy!
  4. what's the hospitalization rate of those infected after one dose? What's the breakdown of how soon after vaccine administered that they were infected? There's more than one consideration here.
  5. according to an mlb app push I just got, in case you all were worried. I didn't know it was a concern. So glad to know.
  6. He's played his ass off to become a great offensive player and starter and we are offering him a utility role. I'm sure he'd like to get a starter role somewhere but there are a lot of 2b and places like oakland probably would rather take leftovers of the Albertos/Wongs/Profar/Schoops
  7. Adam Wainwright - 6 mill Auston Romine - MILB contract $2 mill if makes roster Tommy La Stella - 1 year, 8 million, 2nd year club option for 10 million with $2 million buyout.
  8. I'd rather the reports that we are having vaccine shortages than not using what's there.
  9. Oh, yeah. Tanaka would just feast on a lot of the young aggressive hitters in central too
  10. Well, I know he's similarly unlikely but Odorizzi. But of next tier, Paxton has similar availability concerns but has high upside. Then for me its Richards. The only other high upside guys to me are Jimmy Nelson and Chris Archer.
  11. Lopez's stuff isn't very good. They did correct some of his fastball which now has more rising movement than running, which was part of his command problem. But that's a lot of his issues, every thing moves laterally rather than getting good rise or sink, and hitters don't have as much issue with that, especially when they can't locate it. It's partly why getting a curve back will help. Like even if Katz finds a curveball with him, he needs one much better than this. His stuff looks like Quintana except Q is an artist with command and pitching feel.
  12. Watched the first 3 quarters, missed the last. Temple/Thad really has been good. Going to be an interesting trade deadline. They really have made all of their guys look at lot more functional. I know some don't want to compromise the future too much with this group considering the draft. I'm not really that concerned. It's too early and you have to imagine teams like heat/raptors pull ahead. There's no team really tanking, but the pistons are probably by far the worst team but may end up with better record than the wolves in the west? So I think bulls will be in lottery with top 6 or so chances and that's fine at this point of the way it is run. But it will be kinda weird if they don't trade anyone at deadline. It's kinda funny with Donovan, are the thunder really that far different than the bulls at this point? I feel like SGA is as good a top player as bulls have, and they have a bunch of players and assets coming up.
  13. He’s had as many pro scouting misses but yes his super power of latam scouting is the straw that stirs the drink
  14. I don’t even think it’s player development. It’s player acquisition. But let’s also remember one thing: the mlb rewards the Padres, located in one of the richer locales in sports, another draft pick every draft that they can use to bundle budget and get a Hudson head. And they have an owner who spends more than ours. We are at a disadvantage there. I think we get less intl budget too? Just horseshit
  15. If we signed Odorizzi and Rosario I think I’d say same.
  16. That makes sense.
  17. Yeah that’s a lot. Musgrove was really the only piece Cherington had to supplement, and he can likely flip Lucchesi. Sox aren’t competing with that without going into too guys.
  18. Shows in different approaches. Sox were very targeted in getting more developed guys in INTL, a “quality over quantity” approach though not perfect analogy. Preller bursted with signing every year since 2016 even when under penalty. Sox will likely have higher hit rate, but Oadres just have tons of guys that are able to be cashed in for existing production.
  19. so yeah we don’t have a system that can do the things preller has done.
  20. Respect to preller. Part of this you can see is after last year they weren’t going to have an important year of their window just handing spots to young pitchers. Braves have had same struggle but then they all put it together in September/oct. Im of them mind that it’s ok to let those dudes force their way in to a spot when they’ve shown they can command and get AAA hitters out and aren’t just throwing their top stuff all over the place and relying on inferior hitters to get themselves out.
