That's funny, I feel the exact same way. But I'm sure that will change as the game goes along. There are always those feelings I had as a teenager that creep up where it's like, really important to me the sox get recognition on a national stage lol.

15 years ago (!) sitting in a friend's dorm room watching the sox beating the crap out of the red sox early and basically never looking back. Here's hoping to that, or the starting pitching suddenly being lights out beyond gio and dk. But overall - go sox. Shit was so boring in June when we had nothing to talk about. I kinda wonder what Ketel Marte would take for his last year. He should be pretty good in RF defensively and could go back to two years ago. Pitchers I'd go after Bauer but Stroman scares me. Undersized RH pitcher aging. I'd rather be risky but safer from $$ wise going after Odorizzi who obviously didn't have a year to go after. Tradewise, who knows, maybe Lynn becomes affordable. Maybe Wheeler goes on market, or corbin or some other NL east pitchers.

Nimmo isn't that expensive, but if we get Nimmo I'd like the rest of our resources pumped into starters/bullpen.

This time bulls with a better coach than hoiberg do slightly better but still are a weird mess of too-ball-dominant-but-not-actually-good Rose, stuck in cement gasol and others. Assume bobby portis. - At the deadline I trade Gasol to washington for a future second round pick, and hinrich for a second round pick. 2016 draft (assuming further back): Draft Paskal Siakam, trade Tony Snell to Bucks for a 2nd round pick and select malcolm brogdon At this point you have a decent PG and PF (future) around Jimmy. You also could have gone with Siakam or Malik Beasley but I like Lavert a lot. 2016 FA: you got rid of hinrich and Gasol's salary but reinsdorf guffaws at FAs which is fine most ended up terribly. Season goes fine, 1st round exit 2017 NBA Draft: Draft Jarrett Allen and Jordan Bell (I don't know I'm getting bored. 2017-18 season Siakam still learning but brogdon lights it up. I feel like what would have happened is that cleveland would have come back from 3-1. They torched the bulls those next two games.

It's normal in the NBA because of the salary cap. NBA allows teams to re-sign their own players at higher amounts and past their salary cap in ways teams cannot with free agents. Sign and trade is enticing to players because they can earn more, and allows teams losing the players to get back an asset. In baseball...the other team would just sign them to the higher amount and not part with a prospect for no reason.

There is zero reason for McCann to go along with that nor the other team to do it. They were willing to sign McCann at X price, not X price + prospect. If he suddenly signs with sox for the same price they offered, and sox immediately try to shop him back, it's not likely to work.

Man the Heat are just an incredible organization. They have a huge advantage with the city they are in, but the are essentially the Nuggets of the East except with the ability to pull stars with the city and swagger of Riley. As much as it hurts knowing that Butler entered stardom, it was true that he would have maxed out in Chicago with Paxson/Forman. There was no Bam Adebayo coming to save him. He'd still have had either Hoiberg or Boylen as his coach. It's painful. But who cares, it's sunny side up with bulls for now. Going to just hope they find the same formula. Either they are consistent contenders like the Nuggets, or even better, finally tap into some way to market chicago in a way to bring its stars home.

There have to be no other people on earth that are left handed throw upper 90s with one of the best sliders on earth that could have put together a worse baseball career than Rodon.

I don’t think anyone is saying he’s going to throw max velo every pitch as a starter but he also hasn’t even had a chance to develop yet and you are acting like he’s a finished product.

I find it crazy that some are sitting here watching Crochet in the majors dominating batters during a division race after missing his junior year and no minor leagues... and you are putting a ceiling on what he can do? Based on a college season none of us watched?
