I didn’t and you wouldn’t have been flamed. We all want to win. This has been torture. If we can’t pull off tonight it will be misery.

Funny this has become the CW because at the time everyone was doing cartwheels because 2027 is more important than 2020

Yeah, especially with Paul George laying huge eggs in the playoffs. Yeah, some of those teams maybe make it out of first round but none even make the conference finals in the west.

2021 Offseason Prediction: Who We Lose and What Will Be Our Needs?
Again, it wasn’t a puzzle. Cespedes and Colas were the very first players mentioned.

2021 Offseason Prediction: Who We Lose and What Will Be Our Needs?
Probably difficult to follow CWS post if you don't follow baseball, but he mentioned the sox signing Cespedes or Colas...so his post answered your question pretty well. WAs the entire point of saying stop gap.

2019-2020 Official NBA Thread
Yes if he's worth it. But yeah, I do like White but I just cannot imagine a White/Lavine backcourt. To be honest if we are allowed a dream scenario to me is Ball-Lavine-Giannis-AD-Lauri/Wendell. That is a lineup with length, defense, and enough shooting to give Giannis room to work. That would be devastating.

2019-2020 Official NBA Thread
https://www.theringer.com/2020/9/25/21455724/the-mismatch-the-lakers-squeak-out-a-win This was good to hear. Heard a lot on Donovan's offense. I think it was a good reminder that when he was in college he ran the type of offenses AK said he favored. But when you have Russel Westbrook and PG you have to run an offense to those strengths which is just iso/pick and roll. When he gets Chris Paul, he let CP be CP3 and completely changed the defense over an offseason. I think it shows that if a player becomes a star or they acquire a star he'll make the offense flow in the way the star wants or needs. I'm sure the difference between that and a truly elite coach is being able to challenge the player to change when the team needs it (spo, phil jackson, etc). But I don't think we can look at the chris paul or russ OKC offenses and say that's what we'll see with Donovan. I think it's a great hire. Especially with our young roster. A lot of them are coming from the best college coaches in the game or were heavily recruited by them. They revere Coach K, Wright, Williams, etc. And then they are playing for Jim Boylen, a joke in the NBA and College. Now when those players text or chat with their college coaches the coaches are going to tell them about a peer that they revere in Donovan. I think it is going to be a huge difference. Very excited.

Even beyond Rodon, if ever there was a night to trial your true shut down end of game lineup last night was it. If Foster gives it up, Foster gives it up. He's earned it. But it should have been Foster->Bummer->Colome, with Heuer and Foster being interchangeable based on usage. Cordero was thrown out there because Cordero started warming up before the previous inning ended. That's not good enough.

COVID-19/Coronavirus thread
Yes that might happen. COVID is in Illinois and all over US. Maybe they should focus their time and energy yelling at the universities who re-opened with zero mitigation efforts, not the one who built a scaled up rapid testing program and making flip comments about a working group trying to make incredibly hard decisions. Or better yet, rather than using U of I as the stand-in for the failures of the US response to COVID, they could focus on the Federal and State governments. Bars are still open in champaign-urbana, everything is open around it.

No superstar managers.

Fire Ricky
He was trying to teach them what they’ll need to win in the postseason by reminding him them they’ll be at a managerial disadvantage

I like not only bringing in Rodon, but him thinking his shitty fastball is what will do it not his 3 different sliders no one can hit. If his slider wasn’t working in bullpen he shouldn’t have been in.
-
Bummer and Rodon return, Detwiler and Not going to Cishek anymore DFAd
Eh, in the bullpen he can throw more than mostly sliders. Hitters still can’t hit it. Main concern with him is strikes
