I really do like Bauer but I think this board has blinders on if they think Bauer won’t be frustrating. Hes a fascinating person. He has very low trust and it makes sense when you basically re write the book on what’s possible to develop as a pitcher, and prove the “experts” wrong. But he doesn’t have friendly disagreements. He’s like the friend who responds to any mild criticism with “well your parents didn’t love you”.

Watching him, surprised righties had success off him in college. Long left handers man, it feels like I’d think every fastball would saw me off

He had a short track record as a starter, so there are concerns about his ability to start due to motion, lack of resume. Which is fair, if sox had drafted a guy to be a bullpen pitcher at 11 you wouldn’t be happy. But his talent is undeniable and I’m happy they took a shot. Still has a long way to go and learn, but give him the ball for an inning and he’s ready now.
