this is one of the best parts about big league pitching. Suddenly it can just click. By the same token...it falls apart so quick. \

September baseball is so bad -
saliva testing should be a really effective tool, but because we are relying on a bunch of individual actors to get it up and running and set policy around it I'm still in wait and see mode. A town like Champaign-Urbana is a good pilot for this, but if it's just a few offices in Chicago doing this it kinda defeats the point.

Realistic trade candidates AKA The Lynnsanity Thread

The Phils really traded a lot for their bullpen pieces. Not looking forward to trading and honestly think we have what we need in-house unless some knock-on-wood stuff happens. -
There are no easy answers right now, do whatever is best for your kids. I don't have a problem with parents trying to find a solution that can. I'm just responding to the idea (that didn't come from you) that public schools aren't accountable to anyone which is why they closed, or why they struggled. They are accountable to every family and student in their district. They can't just make a policy that works for only 80% of them. Some are doing terrible at this, some are doing well, but this is not easy especially when its compounded with zero additional resources to figure it out. The virus is the enemy here, not a bunch of districts being unsure how to best balance the health risks of their students, faculty, and community around them. I think New York should absolutely be trying schools. They benefited from not doing indoor dining and it has stayed low. Illinois, while infections have been much higher than June, have not seen the hospitals get out of control. But they lost the ability to do schools with how they handled it, a big issue, in my opinion. I do think I could create a plan that would make me comfortable as a parent and includes in person, but I don't blame them for not figuring it out when the guidance they've received is "have less students" and "you figure it out".

You have to remember the value that this at bat will have in mendicks development in a few months
-
TBH I’ve been surprised he’s had so few of days like this so far.

Oh hell yeah let’s fucking do this eloy

Ain’t over dude

Obviously we need to sacrifice today’s winnable game for some theoretical advantage a month from now (in a 60 game season)

Brock Holt is now a free agent

Yeahhh I have zero confidence in Lopez. And the last time I said that we were down 8-0 after 2 innings or whatever it was

omg hahaha

Ha. This was what I was going to say but didn’t. Though I do think between both we can get a league average offense (mendicks at 97 wRC+) Ive always been a fan of mendick. His rough Birmingham year he still hit like 15+ homers, his slash wasn’t great but he outperformed all of our big outfielders that year
-
weird I would not have guessed that Eloy homer would measure as far as it did

Great take there by luis

it's funny to me people's different personalities. Some are probably tracking this and it making them excited or relieved. For me it just makes me nervous for how much worse it will feel if they don't make it lol. -
A lot of talk about the offense but.....
bmags replied to Look at Ray Ray Run's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Right, this stat is essentially "thank you tigers". I love our pen right now, but very nervous on our staff. Will feel better if Lopez makes a real comeback even if it means pen for him. And I guess Dunning made me feel better. -
yes please golden state trade for LaVine and reunite wiggins/lavine
