  1. I would expect him to ask why it has been so bad for 20 years.
  2. Guessing you just didn’t expect people to get to the third paragraph
  3. I always like him more than board but have no reason other than a soft “I think he just knows how to pitch and will still be good throwing 84 mph”
  4. That is chases fault. He’s always been afraid of stepping up in pocket.
  5. Damn, that’s expensive but wish soldier field had done that to be able to host all different kinds of sports while not forcing bears to be on natural grass in winter.
  6. Stuff like this will always come up as an excuse. Going east is a lot easier than west. London is not difficult to travel to for jet lag.
  7. I hope they show some fight in second half. Defense looks like they are ready to quit, offensive line is a joke
  8. This bears oline, which has been terrible all year, finally completely destroys a game for them.
  9. I’m a bit surprised how little board interest there is in Keuchel compared to last offseason. Is there rumors I don’t know? He can’t receive a QO again right?
  10. Probably because owning a baseball team filled with a bunch of longtime buddies is fun as hell.
  11. I think this is about smaller teams needing to stay competitive while not overextending themselves. That said, Sox have note been able to adhere to this model this decade.
  12. FWIW I think there is a fairly charitable reading of this especially for a smaller market team that isn’t the Yankees/Red Sox.
  13. Some pitchers are just built for the long haul. Scherzer has pitched a ton, and you’d be foolish to bet that Strasburg will pitch more innings than him in the next few years just due to mileage.
  14. This would be firsthand, he’s saying Jerry told him this.
  15. Bum is the perfect vet pitcher to add to a young team aspiring to go to playoffs. And more so than wheeler, seems like that pitcher that just can grind even when stuff fails. Id be thrilled with Bum, and holding my breath with Wheeler.
  16. I’m still intrigued by Wacha, though his second half improvement largely coincided with the improvement in the cards D, but his control and velocity improved. I think he’d be a nice Nova replacement but he’s a depth guy that I think could slide into bullpen as our injured pitchers return.

Whether it keeps him healthy is one thing, but he was pretty effective when he was at 50% slider, in bullpen he’d be nails for 1-2 innings
  18. Ah man. Can't freakin wait to have kopech back.

I'd be interested in Rodon when he converts to the bullpen.
  20. Remember when Jerry was part of a collusion ring to artificially deflate player salaries then was a leading voice that led to canceling a season where his team was world series contenders just to ensure he wouldn't have to pay more money to labor. Me neither because he had the payroll befitting a major market team for a portion of his ownership.
  21. I think Rendon is a guy the nats keep.
  22. It's nick friedell come back to chicago! They...traded korver for nothing just to stay under the luxury tax if they matched asik. They didn't match him either. But yes, then they overpaid to get Kirk Hinrich. JR can't be cheap when he gives such charitable deals to marginal org favorites like Hinrich.
  23. Listen, I love basketball. It's a lot more fun to have a decent team to watch. Satoransky and Thad young were the first signings I've liked by the bulls in a long time, coming off one of the first trades i've liked for the bulls in porter. It is great turning on a bulls game in winter and chilling out, but not when you are watching kris dunn holding the ball for 23 seconds only to shoot a 20 foot jumper off the side of the backboard.
