  1. Can you point to where this is? I've never seen this proven. The only thing I remember is Jeff Sullivan looking at Miguel Cabrera's season post Prince Fielder and finding his FB% decline.
  2. No no no. Because he is now in front of Abreu, it's a rule that you will now get fastballs. Despite the fact that you will more likely get him out on offspeed pitches, you should throw fastballs because you are scared of the batter behind him, and should throw him the pitches that make it more likely he will hit them and get on base.
  3. The comp balance market is created by a different set of teams.
  4. Not necessarily the same pick, I think the league just phrases it as "2nd best" or "3rd best". The question is if the market for comp balance picks is "correct yet", and whether the total cost of QO free agent + assets required in trade (money and/or prospects) is greater or less than how they value the free agent market without QOs attached. There is a possibility the comp balance picks are overvalued and it would not make sense. But if they are undervalued, and the cost of losing a draft pick causes the QO free agent to be undervalued in years and dollars, there is a combination there that makes it interesting. edit: the fantasy part of this is expecting the sox to create an accurate value system.
  5. I just think he should be platooned vs. lefties and be spelled more in late innings.
  6. Pushing Leury to RF is more beneficial than as a sub (or c/rf, whatever), competency will help our outfield.

Is it too early to put grass seed down?
  8. Well this ain't good.
  9. This new action puts a lot of effort on the legs, which is where he may struggle late in games. He was so efficient yesterday it didn't matter. Him commanding 4 pitches at once was worth it though (curve wasn't amazing but it wasn't spiked every time either). But, we will see. He clearly needed a big change.
  10. Sox should really explore the prices of comp picks from the low revenue teams, there may be some value in acquiring those and getting the discount on the free agents with picks attached to them (without losing the draft flexibility).
  11. First of 2019!
  12. I find mlb replay to be immensely frustrating. I shouldn’t guess wrong like 75% of the time.
  13. Eloy gonna league lead on RBIs acquired without contacting a baseball
  14. And 4 pitches working at once. Felt like his previous good starts were all FB/Ch or curveball only, only 2 of 4 ever clicking at once.
  15. One of the issues people said may be a thing with Giolitos new delivery is endurance so nice to see him cruising at 5 IP. Want to see it through though.
  16. Yosts obsession with L/R matchups is so boring
  17. Jose I don’t think you are going to get a strike bud
  18. Yoan is doing beautifully
  19. Seriously that inning should be framed for him.
  20. Was that a slider or a curve?
  21. I have been a much bigger fan of his approach since inning 2. Way too many 2 seamers the first few batters. Change looks very good, may be most helped by the short armed approach
  22. Royals have been much more boring on the base paths than I’d have expected
