QUOTE(YASNY @ Mar 10, 2005 -> 01:32 PM) The dude is just now facing live pitching with his new hitting mechanics. Give him a few weeks before you bury the guy. :headshake I just don't think Crede is ever going to be a big time player. He's just another in a long line of guys who starred in AAA, and are not good enough in The Show.
-
The way things are going, I say Osuna at SS, Uribe at 3rd, and Crede can be a beer vendor.

QUOTE(winninguglyin83 @ Mar 7, 2005 -> 03:35 PM) single by Valdez. can this game please count? Maybe it's a preview of the World Series?

QUOTE(Leonard Zelig @ Mar 4, 2005 -> 06:15 PM) Because this is this year. Thank you Leonard

QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Mar 3, 2005 -> 03:43 PM) I would rather have Crede out there than Burke.. There is a reason he is 30s and still in the minors.. Yea but Crede is bad. He's our weakest link.
-
Man I was hoping Burke could handle the position so Crede could spend the season next to Ozzie.

QUOTE(Kogs35 @ Mar 3, 2005 -> 03:17 PM) can u hook another sox fan up who doesnt have audio All I did was go to game day audio, and hooked right in. I can't give you my password, cause I use it for other things, but It's only 15 bucks for the entire season, for every league game.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 3, 2005 -> 03:00 PM) No live radio feed today on MLB.com :fyou Sure there is, I'm listening right now.

For me the only big dissapointment is Crede making that weak out on the 1st pitch with men on base. This guy is not a smart hitter. The pitcher was on the ropes, you've guys on who can run which means the pitcher has to be aware of them, so work the count. With Crede there should be an iron clad rule: NEVER SWING AT THE 1ST PITCH. Maybe we could buy Ted William's frozen head and sew it onto Crede's body. That could help.

QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Feb 26, 2005 -> 04:22 AM) Tannerfan, are you a fan of Danny Tanner from Full House? I have no idea who Danny is. I'm a fan of Chuck Tanner, Sox manager from the early 70's. The guy who persuaded Dick Allen to accept the trade from the Dodgers and come play for The Sox.
-
In all this discussion about Williiams and past GM's you guys are forgetting a key element. THE OWNER. The Sox have had a number of GMS who haven't gotten the job done, but what is the one variable that has not changed since 1981? Reinsdorf. So Anthrax, you want to b**** about how this team always comes up short? Start at the top.

How many games are you going to this year?
Tannerfan replied to BridgeportHeather's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Living in Los Angeles, I'll see 2 or 3 down in Aneheim, I've got tickets for 2 games in San Diego, and I'll be home for two games at The Cell against the Dodgers. -
I think this thread has gotten a little off topic. One thing's for sure, Borchard is not a prospect, a project or a Sosa. He's just a bust.
-
Reacting to what the Cubs do is the biggest mistake The Sox could make. As a matter of fact there have been times in the past when they've done just that and its never gone well. We have our own identity, to hell with the Cubs.
-
I would trade Borchard for a groundskeeper.

QUOTE(sircaffey @ Jan 25, 2005 -> 10:37 PM) Crede is and will be the guy next season whether people like it or not... Our bullpen could be great...Something I would much rather have then just a decent backup 2B/pinch runner... Do you mean Crede is going to break out, or that we're just stuck with him? And we're not talking about a backup 2b/pinch runner, we're talking about a major league veteran who can play both ss and 2b. Uribe can't play every game and Iguchi can't either.
-
QUOTE(sircaffey @ Jan 25, 2005 -> 10:19 PM) You can never have too many arms...A pen with 6 quality/reliable pitchers would be an amazing benefit...Question is, would Urbina over Cotts help us more than Harris over Valdez/Ozuna or a veteran MIF? I say yes, but it is debatable... As far as cash is concerned, if JR is willing to spend a little more, then we shouldn't argue because we have filled all of our "needs" already...Now we are just looking for overall improvement. I agree about always needing more pitching but as we speak, our bullpen is good and our backup infield is non-exsistent. Plus Crede is not the guy.
-
QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Jan 25, 2005 -> 09:04 PM) I just don't think we need any more pen arms. UIF or bust! Yes, Yes, Yes, I agree. Don't trade Harris for someone we don't need. Get an infielder, maybe even a decent 3rd baseman.

Iguchi very close to signing a 2 yr deal?

QUOTE(qwerty @ Jan 21, 2005 -> 08:01 PM) Espn insider i s really not an insider. All they do is collect articles from various newspapers. qwerty, I love your posts but I hate having to watch that guy pick his nose -
Which newcomer will have the biggest impact?
Tannerfan replied to greasywheels121's topic in Pale Hose Talk
For all our dreams to come true; Dye, Pods, Elduque, and AJ all have to have great years and impact the team equally. But I voted Dye because he WILL BE healthy and he will love The Cell. -
I think you have to take a chance on this guy if given the opportunity. No one knows if he'll make it in The Show, but the price is not very high, and for me this would complete the Carlos Lee trade. I just hope this isn't Matt Clement all over again

QUOTE(SoxFan562004 @ Jan 19, 2005 -> 05:47 PM) he won't sign until he has some form of workout... his one during the winter meetings was scrapped.... Ofman on the Score was reporting he couldn't jump yet... about a week ago I believe I heard he would have a workout in 2 weeks. So we will see if something happens next week. I guess some of the teams that got the medical records Boras gave them said there seemed to be some things missing and wasn't really complete That's my point, Boras is hiding something and teams are wary.

I only know what I read and hear, but Maggs knee must be in a bad way. I can't beleve a player with his talent and history would'nt have been signed by now unless there is something seriously wrong. Last year I was so upset that The Sox would let such a great player go, and I really didn't believe KW when he said they wanted to resign him. Now as unfortunate as it is I think the Sox did the right thing.

In this day and age an angioplasty procedure is not that big of a deal, he'll be fine

El duque introduced to spanish media today
Tannerfan replied to chisox2334's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(S720 @ Jan 14, 2005 -> 12:34 AM) For those who have doubt about El Duque. I have such good karma about this great signing. Still can't believe we signed the Duke! I agree, I remember just last season watching him pitch for NY and thinking "why can't The Sox get a guy like this... AND NOW HE'S OURS!
