QUOTE(GoSox05 @ Jun 1, 2007 -> 09:33 AM) for those of you who think the season is over, I'll take your tickets. Way to back your team. Its makes me sick. Im glad i was never on a team with most of you. Down 1-0 in the first inning. I QUIT. ITS OVER. WAHAHAHAH. bunch of babies. Best Post of the week.

Anyone who says the season is over has no understanding of the history of baseball. Is this team good enough to come back? I don't know. Is it possible based on being 1 game under on June 1st? Definitely. I am shocked at how negative this board has become over the past several months.

Wonder if KW will make a pitch for Percival...

I wouldn't want another Jeff Nelson in '06 experience, but if he's throwing well it would be great to have a veteran in this very young bullpen of ours. -
May 1st, and all this pessimism. This site has been hijacked by a bunch of crybabys.

Reguarding the 25 pounds he lost this off season, it would appear that he found them.

I think everytime I've seen a "Levin reports" thread on this board it has always been wrong.

QUOTE(watchtower41 @ Feb 23, 2007 -> 04:54 PM) I'll take Wrigely any day over the House that Ruth built or Fenway. I have to dissagree. Yankee Stadium is the Mecca of baseball parks. Never been to Fenway, But The Stadium is waaaay better than Wrigley.

What gets me is at the end of the '06 season this board was full of "trade Freddy" posts, and while I'm sure there were some, I do not remember anybody saying "no hold on to Freddy". KW makes the trade and since that day people have been critical about the deal saying "how could we let such a great innings eater/grinder type/winner go. Most people wanted him gone, and he's gone. I know there are a lot of different opinions around here, which is what makes this place so great. But the consensus was we had to trade Freddy Garcia. I'm not really sure what my point is but to complain about the deals that have been made from the money angle is bogus. Our payroll is the 4th largest in the American league. The deals are designed to blend veteran talent with young talent so the team can become a consistent contender. Did KW make the right deals? Who knows, time will tell. But Phil Rogers' guess is no better than anybody elses. Let's just wait and see. I'm cold, start the season already!

Don't forget that Bonds is still under investigation by a Grand Jury regarding tax evasion. How would you like to lose your starting left fielder to an indictment? Pass on Bonds, a little integrity please.

According to a friend of mine whose a big Yankee fan, the rumors that come out of The NY Daily News are almost always wrong. They tend to make this stuff up to get attention, as they compete with The NY Post which is a horrible newspaper (think Fox News in print); but has a great sports section. If the rumor is out of The Post, there's a chance it's true. From The Daily News... not so much. By the way there is no follow up to this rumor in The Daily News today, which tells me it is nonsense.

Dave Roberts looking like a strong possibility

QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Oct 30, 2006 -> 03:32 PM) I tend to think that Matthews had a breakout year vs. a career year. He'll get a big contract and he'll earn it, IMO. Everyone always said he had talent and once he hooked up with the Texas hitting coach he took off. Couldn't BA play LF if Matthews moved into CF? anyway, the thing that scares me most about this off season is losing Freddy Garcia and keeping Javy Vasquez. The trib points out that Freddy battled through a stiff shoulder that resulted in his loss of velocity. He learned to pitch around it and if he gets some of the pop back on his fastball he's going to be a stud again. I just hope we don't give up on him. I agree. I thing trading Garcia could be a big mistake. -
Just got back from the game. What a treat to see that kind of performance from one of my pitchers. I still think this team can gel into a legit contender. I was also at Monday's game but missed yesterdays so maybe that's why I'm so optimistic.

I loved this win. This had '05 written all over it. I think I hate The Indians now more than ever.

I'm surprised ESPN is being so nice to us..

QUOTE(Elcaballo45 @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 01:29 PM) Granted that he's barely hitting over .200, Cintron is barely .270 himself. Its not that big of an offensive upgrade. Dude the difference between 200 and 270 is huge.

QUOTE(Rex Kickass @ May 31, 2006 -> 05:28 PM) I'll take one poor at bat out of nine for good defense in centerfield anyday. Unfortunatly it's not one poor at bat it's two, with Juan (I don't need no silly leg kick) Uribe setting the table for Mr. Anderson.

If they offer better venilation, then I say stick with the old ones. I prefer my team to be a little hot headed.

Another aspect to Ozzie's style, is the crackdown on drug use in MLB. The articles I've read mention a crackdown on the use of "greenies" in the clubhouse. This could mean starters who are use to a couple of pills helping them through the fatigue of playing every day, needing more days off. The White Sox were on top of their game in October last season and Ozzie's philosophy is why. Add in a crackdown on steroids and amphetamines, and we should be better off at the end of the season then every other team due to playing the entire roster during the season.

QUOTE(SnB @ May 1, 2006 -> 08:33 PM) what exactly are they pissed about? this boggles my mind They live in Cleveland.

The Angel TV guys were very impressed by it. They said it was the move of a smart veteran pitcher, who made an ajustment to win.

QUOTE(elrockinMT @ Apr 16, 2006 -> 04:27 PM) Yes, Garcia gets a complete game and all stats count. But, IT WAS an UGLY top of the 5th. I thought he was going to just completely fall apart. But he didn't
