Greatest College Basketball Team Ever?
Rowand44 replied to ZoomSlowik's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Mar 29, 2006 -> 11:43 PM) and I think the fans were a little swayed by the fact that Michael was on the team There you go, that's it basically. -
QUOTE(SnB @ Mar 29, 2006 -> 11:44 PM) peanuts Fries or Onion Rings? Onion Rings Family Guy or the Simpsons?

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Mar 29, 2006 -> 11:43 PM) I think there is a very real chance Oden is going to Carmeloize Ohio State next year (and yes Oden has a lot of help too, but so did Carmelo with Duany, Warrick, McNamara, etc). He's definitely got a chance but man..college basketball is going to be so up next year compared to this year in terms of the talent level.
-
QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Mar 29, 2006 -> 11:39 PM) Next year is an Illini transition year anyways, so meh. Oden will be gone after next season anyways. I've been saying since Oden's JUNIOR year that he could start for at least 3/5 of NBA teams, but people think that's crazy talk. Dude is the best HS Center since Lew Alcindor. You are correct sir, that is apparently a huge factor. It's not crazy at all. This guy is unbelievably special, I really don't know any other way to put it.

QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Mar 29, 2006 -> 11:37 PM) Whoa, no way, me too! It's like you two know each other or something.

QUOTE(chisoxdavid @ Mar 29, 2006 -> 11:31 PM) X-Box Being faithful or cheating (on your gf) Faithful Kobe or Shaq?
-
QUOTE(danman31 @ Mar 29, 2006 -> 11:26 PM) I also thought Scheyer played well in the 2nd half, but I might be biased. He did play well. I agree on Budinger, he was impressive tonight.

QUOTE(rangercal @ Mar 29, 2006 -> 11:11 PM) Prior Mcdonalds or Burger king Mcdonalds College Football or the NFL?

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Mar 29, 2006 -> 10:57 PM) Also, SIU added a verbal in class of 2006 combo guard Tyrone Green of Southeastern Illinois CC. He is a pretty big guard at 6'3, 205 who is very athletic, a good defender, and can create his own shot according to scouting reports. Sounds like a solid fit for SIU, and will fit in perfectly in this SIU class going along with 6 foot sharp shooter Joshua Bone of Nashville. Yup, he was being recruited pretty hard by UNLV and I believe Tennessee as well. Sounds like his one weakness is shooting...so hey he'll fit right in. I'm still extremely excited about Bone, he's exactly what we need.

QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Mar 29, 2006 -> 09:41 PM) I think it's safe to say that he's healthy... Jim Thome (ST stats) 45 AB .422 AVG .536 OBP .933 SLG 1.469 OPS 6 HR 12 RBI 10 BB 6 SO What a horrible f***in spring.

Opening night. Can't wait.

QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Mar 29, 2006 -> 09:22 PM) Doubt it. I see a ton of people getting away with it at games. I do as well and that type of thing really pisses me off. Hopefully that will be taken care of though.

QUOTE(Hawkfan @ Mar 29, 2006 -> 09:16 PM) we'll see if they enforce it.. if you need me i'll be the guy smoking in the stands. And then getting escorted from the stands.

QUOTE(TheBigHurt @ Mar 29, 2006 -> 06:55 PM) Why the hell did the Sox vs. Cubs game end with a tie, and this one went to the 10th? :| It's up to the managers in spring training. Ozzie didn't have any pitchers left against the Cubs, so they just called it after 9. -

QUOTE(LVSoxFan @ Mar 29, 2006 -> 04:33 PM) I don't mean to be a wet blanket because I know we got Thome for this but... I just hope we're not forgetting small ball/Ozzieball/smartball, whatever. Meaning: home runs are fun. There were tons of them. In 2004. Having said that, it sure is fun to watch! Um, Frank who? There were a ton of them last year as well. This team can manufacture runs if Pods is healthy but we're going to hit homeruns as well. -

QUOTE(Dam8610 @ Mar 29, 2006 -> 04:21 PM) Actually, I think it's two consecutive outings, and what's wrong with being happy that he's starting to show improvement? Nothing. I think everyone realizes he's got a long way to go but it is nice to see some improvement from him. I mean there were people crucifying him after his first outing here, so there is nothing wrong with being happy with improvement. -

So are we ready to put Neal and Bobby in middle relief with Boone setting up Thornton to close it out? -

QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Mar 29, 2006 -> 03:59 PM) Only one and it was due to a ball that Anderson couldn't catch due to the sun being in his eyes. And he won't give up another run until 2010, when Jerry Owens misplays a ball in left. -
QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Mar 29, 2006 -> 03:53 PM) What are the best places to go to in or around the city? It seems like we need to visit an fine establishment now that we are 18. What did u guys do once you turned 18? This is what I did when I turned 18: Watch Freddy Garcia throw a one hitter and lose the game.

Boo, I think he's ready for the nba.

QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Mar 29, 2006 -> 03:23 PM) 3-3 tie. Jim Thome has hit 2 homers again -- the first one was a solo shot on the first pitch and the second homer was a wind-blown shot on a full count. Thome has all 3 RBI's. Jebus. How does Freddy look? -
