QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Aug 8, 2005 -> 07:30 PM) And what are the other options for a fourth starter...? Contreras. I'll take El Duque over Contreras every day of the week and twice on Sunday. Heck, make it thrice on Sundays... I have no problem throwing el duque out there in a 7 game series as our 4th starter.
-
Here's the inning we have to get to them. Gotta hit Tanyon.
-
The duke's been fantastic since he's come off the dl. Very impressive
-
QUOTE(Sox Hustler @ Aug 8, 2005 -> 07:27 PM) If they let Gordon pitch more than 1 inning we can put something together but if they bring in Rivera to clean up his mess its game. We'll probably get sturtz in the 7th, then Flash, then MO.

QUOTE(Steff @ Aug 8, 2005 -> 07:25 PM) Guys... how good were Aaron's 1st inning catches? The neighbor Cub fan came over to tell me about them. He had 2 awesome first inning catches. Both very impressive.

JD missed a few real good pitches to hit in that AB then Moose made a great pitch for the K. I guess that's what happens when you're struggling.

QUOTE(GBlum27 @ Aug 8, 2005 -> 04:56 PM) HAHAHAHAHA I have to have bad hearing, they couldn't have just called Bob Wickman a Cy Young candidate on SC, could they? Nah there's no way they would say something that f***ing stupid. Garland, Wickman, Rivera...nah I had to have heard that wrong. Bob Wickman? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Your hearing is fine.

QUOTE(GBlum27 @ Aug 8, 2005 -> 04:36 PM) I think his 0.88 WHIP, .190 BAA and 2.81 ERA might have something to say about that. National League. He had a 3.9 era last year in the al, while still very good, I just don't think he's the same pitcher he used to be and not worth the money, jmo.

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Aug 8, 2005 -> 04:31 PM) Man... it would have been really nice if the Sox got Pedro this offseason. Bah -- I'm just crying over spilt milk. Pedro would be our 4th starter at this point imo. Not worth the money.

QUOTE(TLAK @ Aug 8, 2005 -> 04:15 PM) Umpires: HP: Hunter Wendelstedt 1B: Mike Winters 2B: Bruce Froemming 3B: Jerry Meals [/code] :puke :puke

QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Aug 8, 2005 -> 03:43 PM) But...but...but...dodgers...60 years ago... :rolly The point is anything can happen, I don't think any of us think the Sox are going to lose the division but stranger things have happened and nothing is over until it's over, imo.

QUOTE(GBlum27 @ Aug 8, 2005 -> 03:44 PM) PLEASE GOD NO TELL ME TIMO IS NOT BATTING 5th IN YANKEE STADIUM I just told you he was.

Uhh, don't shoot the messanger: pods gooch aj pauly timo dye rowand crede uribe

By the way, I wanted to mention that I was completely wrong about Haren, I thought at best he was going to be an average major league starter.
-
This trade was very lopsided in favor of the A's. The Huddy trade was lopsided in favor of the Braves.
-
As weird as it sounds the Indians don't scare me, the Twins don't scare me yet I don't consider anything over yet. IMO the division isn't wrapped up until the magic number hits 0.

QUOTE(MarlinFan84 @ Aug 8, 2005 -> 11:25 AM) New here. How is everyone doing? I am from Southern Illinois, am a Marlins fan, and just figured I'd try a new message board out. And Mark Buerhle came to my front door one day when he got his truck stuck down in the bottoms where he and his bud were hunting and we had to pull him out. Welcome aboard and good luck in the wild card race this season.

QUOTE(robinventura23 @ Aug 8, 2005 -> 11:21 AM) He'll hit one. In the playoffs. In 1993, Lance Johnson went the entire regular season without hitting a HR, then hit one at the Skydome against the Blue Jays during the playoffs. Pods will smack one out against Oakland/Anaheim/? in the post-season. How about a walkoff grandslam in game 7 of the world series.

QUOTE(GBlum27 @ Aug 8, 2005 -> 11:18 AM) Ok lemme break this down....who would you rather have at home MB/Garland or Freddy? I completely agree with you, I'm just saying Freddy pitching at home in a playoff game is different then him pitching at home against the Royals when he's uninterested. I already said in this thread how I personally would set up the playoff rotation in a 5 game series with the Sox at home which included Freddy pitching game 3.

QUOTE(GBlum27 @ Aug 8, 2005 -> 11:16 AM) I'm not talking about betting preseason game I'm thinking regular season records. No thanks, I make bets I can win.
-
QUOTE(GBlum27 @ Aug 8, 2005 -> 11:15 AM) Why would it depend who were playing? If you read what I said 'Do everything humanly possible to pitch Freddy on the road' opponent has no effect on that. Pitching Freddy on the road is definitely the way to go but in the playoffs he'd probably do fine wherever considering he's a big game pitcher.
-
QUOTE(GBlum27 @ Aug 8, 2005 -> 11:10 AM) :headshake I got another sig bet for me to kick your ass in if you get on AIM I can't get on AIM right now and I'm not betting you on preseason football. You want to remind the people your record against me in sig bets?
-
QUOTE(GBlum27 @ Aug 8, 2005 -> 11:11 AM) You said yourself it didn't matter. I mean come on, Geoff Blum... I know, I could care less but you said you were going to do it. Doesn't matter to me though....

QUOTE(GBlum27 @ Aug 8, 2005 -> 11:08 AM) ??? The trade bet.
