Here comes a stolen base.

QUOTE(GBlum27 @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 05:33 PM) Atta boy Paulie way to start us off! Somebody Pauly.

QUOTE(jphat007 @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 05:17 PM) He was out. Dammit take a pitch. Let him call you out. LOL, and then when it's a strike 'em out throw 'em out there would be b****ing about taking too close of a pitch.

I need to find a way to blame ESPN for this. Lets see...the offense really started to struggle once they did the photo shoot for ESPN the mag, is that a good excuse??

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 07:45 AM) If you moved Pods to ninth and made Iguchi the leadoff man, after Iguchi's first at bat, they still would be hitting in the same order they have been. That's a good point but it's still getting Pods less ab's and still a switch in the order. Like I said, I'd love to see Aaron moved up to the 3 hole and Carl in the 5 slot, not gonna happen but that's what I'd like to see. Agree to disagree.

The one thing I'm going to say just to argue with dick is I think messing with the 1-2 is the wrong way to handle things. They've been the catalysts all year and they shouldn't be moved around.
-
This isn't surprising, we all knew this had to be done. If Frank is gone a name me and I'm sure a whole bunch of people are going to bring up is Brian Giles. The Sox don't have many holes and they're going to have a lot of money to spend. Giles would absolutely rake at the Cell, he's the lefty power hitter we've all wanted for years now. With Jermaine not as good of an outfielder as he used to be, he could be the everyday DH with him and Brian splitting some time in Right.

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 07:27 AM) The #3 spot seems to be the key as always, the 1 and 2 guys lay a good platform, and then you've got Konerko and Dye who usually produce in the 4 and 6 spots. What can be done? Well in my opinion, unless Ken Griffey Jr. comes Southside, we need to out Aaron Rowand back in the #3 spot, and hope his power comes around. Put Everett in the #5 spot, move Uribe up the order a little if you want (to Rowand's 7 spot to try and get him going again). I love those ideas, being Aaron up to the 3 hole and Carl to the 5 slot. I'm a huge fan of Carl Everett but he's just not a good 3 hitter, I think Aaron can be. Here's the problem with those ideas, for whatever reason Ozzie needs to have his middle of the order go left/right left/right for whatever reason so most likely we're not going to see those changes made. Right now an obvious reason the offense isn't going so well is Scotty. He's been in a funk the past week and a half or so and this really is his first major slump of the year so we're seeing what happens when he's not on base. Once Pods gets rolling again the offense should big up big time, I hope.

Adkins is here to eat up 3-4 innings if need be if a starter has a rough outing and that's it.

QUOTE(YASNY @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 02:12 AM) He's been pretty dominant this year. I'd love to have him pitch game one of any playoff series. Except the Yankees since they're his daddy. He's been very good this year. I just don't think he's the same pitcher he used to be, the Pedro of old was the best pitcher of this era imo. Right now I think he's lost a little bit of what he had, I can definitely see how people would disagree with me though. I'm probably the only one with this opinion.
-
QUOTE(YASNY @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 02:01 AM) Not worth the money? Maybe. Sox #4 starter? Nope, he'd probably be number 1. Nah, not our 4th starter either, not sure why I exactly said that but at this point of his career I think Mark and Jon are better then him, jmo.

QUOTE(KJean @ Aug 8, 2005 -> 10:51 PM) As much as I hate the whole concept (and I know everyone always says that), I'm on it.... I actually am not on facebook, all my friends are on the damn thing and I've refused to do it.

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Aug 8, 2005 -> 08:48 PM) Thanks for the kind words of wisdom lol. Nah, it ain't to bad. Definitely can be frusterating at times but you'll last. Senior year though you can basically take off, I know I did.

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Aug 8, 2005 -> 08:36 PM) Seems as if I have the longest until school starts. September 6th is my "due date" lol. This year is gonna be fun but hard with the junior ACT's and SAT's and what not. Stressful yet fun because college is right around the corner... Junior year sucks. Enjoy.
-
QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Aug 8, 2005 -> 08:23 PM) I will be applying to: Grand Valley State University St. Cloud State University Rutgers University University of Minnesota Akron University You're like 7 years old, why are you already looking into colleges?

QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ Aug 8, 2005 -> 08:12 PM) Ummm....Timo wasn't the problem tonight. If I remember correctly, he had two hits. It's always Timo's fault, always.......
-
QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 8, 2005 -> 08:07 PM) No, I mean Wendelstedt doing a damn helicopter with his arm. Ha, my bad, I didn't notice.
-
QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 8, 2005 -> 08:06 PM) WTF was that out call? He swung.
-
Rivera is just unreal.
-
Rivera never misses a corner. It's unbelievable.
-
Don't walk him or we get a Damaso sighting.
-
QUOTE(AWhiteSoxinNJ @ Aug 8, 2005 -> 07:51 PM) Think Ozzie well tell Carl to get off his ass and pitch hit for Timo? Why would you pinch hit for Timo in the 9th?
-
Game over.
-
That was quick. Time for Gooch to go oppo homer this inning.
-
Wow, Scotty's D has been much improved as of late. Very impressive catch there.
