  1. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 30, 2005 -> 11:16 PM) Yeah, I'd love beaz in our pen don't get me wroung. I just don't think he's worth a Chris Young or Ryan Sweeney. Agreed.
  2. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 30, 2005 -> 11:13 PM) IMO Huff - Proven hitter. Can play 3B/1B/OF/DH. Left handed power. Huge upgrade over Carl Everett. Baez - meh, I don't like him as much as most people do. I wouldn't give up anything of substance for him which would mean most likely not getting him at all. Lugo - no With Huff and Lugo I have the same feelings as you. I actually like Baez but the asking price is so ridiculous it's just not worth it. Huff's a guy I would be willing to overpay for, Baez--definitely not.
  3. QUOTE(Sam @ Jul 30, 2005 -> 11:02 PM) Will Kenny pull the trigger on any deals? I'm gonna go with....maybe.
  4. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jul 30, 2005 -> 11:01 PM) Let them take Willie too s***. BTW, who is that in your avy. I've always wanted to ask... Chris Getz.
  5. QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Jul 30, 2005 -> 10:54 PM) 4-5 prospects for Julio Lugo? Ouch. I think he meant Huff and Lugo. Either way, I don't want Lugo booting the ball everyday for the sox.
  6. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jul 30, 2005 -> 10:47 PM) That was an awful trade for SF. So, trade three of your best young pitchers (Williams + Foppert + Aarsdma) for Hawkins and Winn? Randy f***ing Winn? So, rather than keeping their young talent, they're going to make an attempt at that weak division by getting Randy f'n Winn? Mercy, Sabean is a f***ing moron. Sabean just makes me laugh, is he ever going to try and get younger or is his goal to have the average age of his team at 40?
  7. QUOTE(BlackBetsy @ Jul 30, 2005 -> 07:34 PM) We have a closer with an 88 mph fastball? Get Billy Wagner quick. We have a closer with a 1.8 era and who's 24 for 25 in save opps.
  8. Best wishes to Allen and his family.
  9. QUOTE(ChWRoCk2 @ Jul 30, 2005 -> 09:54 PM) espn can say what they want, they are not the ones in contact with other teams negotiating deals It would definitely take 3-4 spects to land those two, that's why at the moment I think the best bet is to just go for Huff and I do like Baez. Huff is just a great hitter and he'd be a godsend in this lineup. I'm hoping for Aubrey, he's the guy I really want.
  10. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 30, 2005 -> 04:09 PM) I said tomorrow before the game. Oye ve, don't mind me. Sorry about that milkman
  11. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 30, 2005 -> 03:57 PM) This doesn't necessarily have to do with Guardado, but when does everyone think any trade we do will happen, if ever? Tonight or tomorrow before the game? I would think it'd be tonight, that way it makes it easier to set line-ups and possible relievers (Marte and Vizcaino, I'm looking at you two). We're the sunday night game tomorrow, so it can't be after the game tomorrow.
  12. QUOTE(beck72 @ Jul 30, 2005 -> 03:36 PM) Wasn't in on fox sports that Winn was scratched the lineup for todays game? Yes, he was scratched from the game today.
  13. This deal is officially dead. It was agreed upon and was signed off by the gm's but Boston's ownership group myseriously wouldn't sign off on the deal.
  14. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jul 30, 2005 -> 03:25 PM) Pierzynski up to .266 after todays game.. was in the .240's less than a week ago. Spiderman is an awful nickname for dye in my opinion. I edited it, happy? And I like the nickname, so to bad
  15. The offense was awesome today. At the risk of sounding like Hawk, Pauly is so much more dangerous right now then he's been in a while. Crede looks good, Juan with a great game. Tadahito just keeps doing everything right, Aj is just crushing everything in sight and Spiderman has just been great as well. Very nice win
  16. QUOTE(whitesoxfan13 @ Jul 30, 2005 -> 02:36 PM) What happened? I caught the end of it but didn't really see what went on. He just sounded pissed at Mizelli for making him take first pitch.
  17. Sal Fasano's gonna have some 'splainen to do.
  18. QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Jul 30, 2005 -> 02:16 PM) Off the bat, that scared the s*** out of me. Ditto. Looked a lot worse then it was.
  19. QUOTE(elrockinMT @ Jul 30, 2005 -> 02:13 PM) I was going to say Merte looked good for a change, but now he gives up a 2 strike hit. That was just good hitting.
  20. QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Jul 30, 2005 -> 02:10 PM) Do what? Gooch wasn't in position to get the play. The shift.
  21. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 30, 2005 -> 02:04 PM) He's great as a utility guy, but we'd still need to make another move for offense. I'm just saying I hope this isn't the only move we make in terms of offense. That's fair, I just don't understand the rationale of people hating trying to acquire a versatile, solid bat like Rob.
  22. Alright Bobby. I wonder if Dam is coming in?
  23. I like this move here, this is a good test for Bobby.
  24. Why are people so against suring up the bench?? Mackowiak brings a solid left handed bat off the bench with a ton of versatility. He can play just about anywhere and is just a solid player. Like Tony said we wouldn't be giving up a lot to get him. I'd be all for it.
