  1. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jul 30, 2005 -> 01:10 PM) Haha, I want Wagner, but not that bad. Who's playing 3B then? Ozuna? f*** that. Yeah, I highly, highly doubt Kenny offered Joe.
  2. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 30, 2005 -> 12:34 PM) And he walks Mora. Die, Contreras. Just drop dead on the mound. Good thing you're not a red sox fan, cause Jose's put up similar numbers to there best pitchers. Man, that would suck for you.
  3. Contreras in trouble without giving up anything close to being hit hard.
  4. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jul 30, 2005 -> 12:09 PM) Gooch had the burners on there. He was flying there. It seems like he can turn it on when he needs to.
  5. Crede just nailed Cabrera and he's getting taken out of the game.
  6. The spiderman nickname has stuck with the team. ....and he drives in a run.
  7. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 30, 2005 -> 11:35 AM) I'd say it's been more than a week. Last Saturday was the first time he was caught stealing since June 3rd. So, a week.
  8. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 30, 2005 -> 11:32 AM) And this would be his second, fairly long slump of the year. Like I said, he's streaky. A week isn't that long of a slump, not at all.
  9. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 30, 2005 -> 11:31 AM) Pods is getting caught way too f***ing much. He'll get out of it, just a stolen base slump right now.
  10. Huff would definitely be the best hitter on our team at this point. He's starting to get hot like he does every 2nd half of every season, his numbers keep rising and rising. Huff's a great, great hitter.
  11. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 30, 2005 -> 11:10 AM) Isn't Cabrera the one that can throw in the high 90's? Strange that he'd be really easy to steal off of. Then again, Contreras comes to mind. He is so slow to the plate it's ridiculous.
  12. QUOTE(Ozzie Montana @ Jul 30, 2005 -> 10:47 AM) Guardado would be good for the right price and AJ already knows him and how to handle him behind the plate. Another guy I'd want to get that I have not heard mentioned is Brian Fuentes. He is the closer for Colorado and he is left-handed. I dont think they would demand alot for him. He has 16 saves and he has 56K's in 48 innings. I sure wouldnt mind having this guy in the bullpen. Anybody heard if the White Sox could be looking at Fuentes? Colorado's not trading him.
  13. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 30, 2005 -> 10:45 AM) The feeling I'm getting is that the DRays are asking for a TON for Huff and Baez. Look at the 4 players that were rumored to be going there in the Manny deal? Those are 4 of the higher rated prospects in baseball. That would be like the Sox giving up McCarthy, Anderson, Young, and Gio. I have a feeling this was the trade proposal that KW mentioned in today's paper where it makes him shed a tear at how insane it is. Right, that's why the smart play is to look at Huff from Tampa and Everyday Eddie from seattle, cause it seems the asking price for Eddie is less then the asking price for Baez when Eddie is obviously the better pitcher.
  14. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 30, 2005 -> 10:29 AM) He had a no-trade clause for the Yankees and Red Sox because, at the time, they both had established closers on their team. Eddie has another clause in his contract that gives him more money for closing out more games, I believe. He won't go to the Yankees, IMO. He will, again IMO, accept a trade to the Red Sox if he has the chance. The White Sox have Hermanson, so he might have to share the closer role here, thus he has less incentive to come here. I really wouldn't doubt him accepting a trade to the Red Sox, if they offer the Mariners enough to land him. EDIT: The reason he might not want to come here or New York is because of Hermanson and Rivera. With Foulke being hurt, he might be inclined to go there. It wouldn't be his choice whether to come here or not.
  15. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2005 @ Jul 30, 2005 -> 03:19 AM) Both Jon Garland and Cotts have taught me to have more patience with younger players, especially pitchers. It's hard but this is something everyone needs to learn. At times it just seems hopeless but all pitchers develop differently and you just have to stay patient with them if you see the talent.
  16. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jul 30, 2005 -> 03:18 AM) I don't think any of us were suggesting dealing Cotts in a package for Guardado. We were just lining up the bullpen with Guardado in it, and we got to talking about how Cotts is so awesome. Yeah, Bavasi asks for Cotts, and he'd hear a dial-tone immediately. I think he's talking about the Foulke deal.
  17. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jul 30, 2005 -> 03:13 AM) Right now, Cotts is best pitcher involved in that trade. Very true.
  18. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jul 30, 2005 -> 02:59 AM) I got a feeling. Remember though, I had that same feeling about RJ. Brian Anderson will be a Dray by the end of the trade deadline. Can't figure out who else will be gone. Willie will also likely be a part of the deal. Then there will be 2 more big names in it (maybe one a prospect and the other a reliever like Marte or Viz). If you're wrong, you're gonna hear about this.
  19. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jul 30, 2005 -> 02:56 AM) Book it....i'm convinced the Sox are going to acquire Huff and Baez. And why is this....just a hunch?
  20. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jul 30, 2005 -> 02:52 AM) Wow... has Neal Cotts been huge or what? He's bringing my sad-face from the Foulke trade to a straight face. He's been lights out. I've always had a lot of faith in Neal, like I've said before he's just a guy that I felt was going to be a very good pitcher.
