  4. Don't be greedy JD, take what he gives you.
  5. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jun 15, 2005 -> 07:42 PM) I'd like some runners to get on for Frank, I believe all of his homers are solo shots. Correct.
  6. Alright Jermaine, go to rf don't rollover anything.
  7. LOL@myself, I was just going to write how Frank looks out of sorts tonight. He's awesome!!
  8. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 15, 2005 -> 07:29 PM) Here's an idea for Pods: Draw a f***ing walk! He did.
  9. That call could have cost us a baserunner.
  10. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Jun 15, 2005 -> 07:27 PM) WTF was that? Bulls*** is what it was.
  11. QUOTE(whitesoxjr27 @ Jun 15, 2005 -> 07:21 PM) bad time to go into a funk. May I ask when there is a good time to go into a funk??? By the way the sox will win this game.
  12. QUOTE(sayitanitso @ Jun 15, 2005 -> 06:02 PM) Are you serious? I never knew that. Thanks Rowand44 No problem.
  13. QUOTE(mwolfson @ Jun 15, 2005 -> 05:52 PM) Maybe you misunderstood me... At this point and time with so much riding on how well we are playing there should be no shortage of talk about our bullpen which currently has been inconsistant, especially with our bullpen blowing a lot of games for our starters. I think Hermanson, Politte, Marte and Cotts have been very solid so far but maybe adding a "true" closer like a Billy Wagner or a guy with stuff that make hitters tremble would just be the thing that puts us over the top. We would never have to worry about the 9th inning again if we were up and a guy like Wagner on our team to shut down the opposition. Alright, fair enough. I guess I've just never cared if someone has "true closer stuff" as long as they're getting the job done I could care less how fast someone is throwing. Just cause you throw hard doesn't make you a good closer, there have been plenty of good closers who didn't throw 98 mph but that's jmo.
  14. QUOTE(sayitanitso @ Jun 15, 2005 -> 05:52 PM) If I could change it to make it right I would. But I can't so I'm stuck with it. Just ask one of the admins to change it for you and they will.
  15. QUOTE(JimH @ Jun 15, 2005 -> 05:39 PM) He's right though. The bullpen could use another power arm, preferably with experience if it were up to me (it's not). Relievers should generally be easier to acquire than what's been kicked around in this thread, a starting position player. There are dozens and dozens of relievers who "might" be available, the trick is good major league scouting to identify who can help the most. I agree that the pen could use another arm, personally I could careless whether it's a power arm or not as long as he gets outs. I was just responding to his comment that the sox don't have a clear cut closer, imo they definitely do.
  16. QUOTE(mwolfson @ Jun 15, 2005 -> 05:34 PM) I know Ozzie and Kenny are trying to keep the offensive problems on the down-low but everyone knows the offense isn't very good and leaders such as Paulie have not stepped up to plate to help. Frankly we just don't put up enough runs sometimes. In addition, pitching is always needed and right now we have no clear-cut closer so relief help would greatly be appreciated... 15 of 16 not good enough for you in save opps??
  17. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 15, 2005 -> 05:31 PM) Not this season. Huff hasn't been great so far this year. So far your right, however he's hitting .333 this month and he's been fantastic from June on in his career. Huff is a great, great hitter and I stick by my original remark he'd be the best hitter we have minus Frank.
  18. Huff isn't a platoon player. If he was on the Sox he'd be our best hitter not named Frank Thomas.
  19. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Jun 15, 2005 -> 04:06 PM) No, Shingo retired 28 straight batters. Good for a hidden perfect game.... 26.2 INNINGs wouls be almost 3 straight perfect games. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jun 15, 2005 -> 04:12 PM) Oh gawd, wow, yeah I meant he had 26.2 straight scoreless innings, yeesh I don't know wtf I was thinking. This is what happens when you go to sleep at 8:30 in the morning
  20. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 15, 2005 -> 03:55 PM) Didn't Shingo have a hidden perfect game or something last season? Oh how I miss the good Shingo of last season. 26.2 innings of perfect ball last year for shingo, missed it by one stinkin out.
  21. QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Jun 15, 2005 -> 03:41 PM) Chris Carpenter pitched a CG shutout against the Blue Jays yesterday, giving up only one hit and one walk. His WHIP is now 1.21, so I'll be expecting him to crack the Top 20 when I update this thread in a couple weeks. Chris might be the best-kept secret in all of baseball right now. Last year as well. He's been fantastic the last two years.
  22. Jugg, neither Koney or Huff are platoon players. The end.
  23. QUOTE(jerseysox @ Jun 15, 2005 -> 03:23 PM) if i had to bet, i'd say garland's era will be closer to 4.50 than it will be to 3.50 by year's end. I'd bet ya on that.
